Yeah this is mainly coming from Josh, he is often in that sensual zone, you can hear it perfectly here in his voice, but almost in every songs, even the most robotic dark ones
Josh: Sorry, Jon, we don´t really need you on this version, you would feel useless Jon: Okay Josh: Sorry, Troy, we don´t really need you on this version, you would feel useless Troy: I´ll still come, don´t worry
Verse 1:] When I first met her she was seventeen Seventeen Jump like an arsonist to a perfect match Burned alive [Pre-Chorus 1:] We run 'til no one could find us Girl, we outrun everyone But it doesn't matter now Just come and love me how Like the way you used to do Yeah [Verse 2:] Is love mental disease Or lucky fever dream? This voice....I discovered them about a month ago one night i couldnt sleep and was watching tv, and going from one channel to another i found a concert, it was live at werchter 2018, i missed the beginning but i was, who is that???? and who is this so charming singer?? when there was "song for the dead" i can't describe how i felt, i couldnt beleive i didnt know them. I've been a fan of the Beatles and Elvis Costello all my life, Led Zeppelin, the Clash, Madness, i no longer read the "rock" magazine i used to read and we no longer have on tv a so great music program i loved (i am French) and it can explain why i didnt know them but still, what if i had not seen that concert that night?? I also realised that he plays drums in the band (that i didnt know either) that was at the Bataclan on the night of the Paris attacks, but wasnt there that night. Fortunately there is the internet so i can find tons of informations, pictures, concerts, videos, the albums (i started with "songs for the deaf" that i play all day and i love particularly "the sky is fallin'", how intense and beautiful, it makes me almost cry). When i discovered Costello one afternoon as i was 16 there was not all that information etc available and i couldnt even find all the albums in Montpellier, fortunately i went to London that summer and like a crazy girl i bought all the records i could find. I am sure everyone here understands how it can feel to discover QOTSA. Greetings from France!

My theory is that this is the original version of the song and the Album's the remix. Why? for the same reason they've trolled another song "unreborn again" by dropping volume midway. "Villains" sounds way better on piano too, but they trolled it on the album like an over-decorated christmas tree. What you have to understand is they're no santa. They are the villains of this album.
I know everybody calls him "Ginger Elvis", but I've always got more of a Dean Martin vibe, especially in this performance specifically 😎 🤌🤌🤌 like c'mon ppl, Elvis ain't cool enough for this sunnuvabitch... This guy's on the "cool" level of Miles Davis and Al Green... Elvis is like boxed mac & cheese, it'll get the job done... But listening to Josh Homme is like being served homemade hand-rolled bucatini pasta served al dente wth a peppercorn butter & cream sauce pasta, topped with parmesan arreigiano and a garnish of fresh basil from your home garden... Once you get a taste of him, you'll never go back to the boxed crap again 😏 and my last meal on death row better be "Josh Homme Bucatini " lol
Mike the bassist looks so nervous for most of this, and I get it. This version has so much negative space it would be so easy to make a random noise and spoil it
One of the few frontmen who can actually sing live as well as they do in the studio albums
Josh’s voice is fucking heaven
thank you for this comment
2:02
I've never seen somebody make it seem as effortless with such sheer class.
They’re better musicians than anyone you have seen before that’s why
@@DigitalDaffodiltruth has been told
That man's voice, absofuckinglutely amazing!
And they say gingers have no souls. Josh, amazing as ever.
Ginger Elvis!!
So Josh moonlights as a jazz singer? This is gold

I love how Mike and Troy sings "Tu-tuuu" with that serious face. I would be laughing my ass off, but they know this is something serious!
Exactly!! Especially Mikey!! So super bad ass and suave! 👌
This might be the best version of this song
So much sensuality in one band
I'd like to come and love you now, Josh ❤️.

THE FOLLOWING COMMENT IS PAID FOR BY GEORGE SOROS he age like a mortal but he’s always been this legend
Fucking brilliant. Josh's singing is magic.
It just makes me angry of the amount of people that haven't discovered qotsa
Mason Seymour would be good for sales but part time fans n hipsters can fuck off and be ignorant somewhere else
Mason Seymour don’t be angry. Be happy that you have found them
Back in 98 we didn’t want people to discover the secret
