the places he chooses to emphasize and then avoids the easy way out tonally....drives them tears steady down my cheeks every time....let alone once you know the reason for the song..they flow even harder....
Some guy at a party in Chermside once heard me say QOTSA wasn't that good. He grabbed me by the shirt and told me I had to listen to the albums again. If you're reading this, thanks some guy in Chermside.
I also feel so sorry for your loss.. Hope your beloved ones rest in peace. The cruelty of fate like your ones and yours make no sense to me. are some lives just a test or something? where are our beloved ones now? I hope we will find this out some day and you can survive this someway.
Do you agree the acoustics is awesome but I think it's too because he's got that beautiful crucifix behind him that is just blessing him totally ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
OMFG you made me snarf energy drink, dude. 🔥🤣☠️ (yeahyeahyeah maybe I peed a little bit too but wtf would THAT emoji even look like?) A "snarfing carbonated hypercaffienated beverage designed to emulate the effects of weak & xxxtra dirty crack via - as the legend goes - secret bull urine sauce" would, however, be a very useful tool for communication with strangers on the internet AND my brother. On the internet.
Josh and Queens are just in a category of their own. No one in rock comes close. The ability to strip it down to something fragile and then destroy everything in their path with heavy riffs is very much akin to Zeppelin. Best band in the world in this era
I can't believe I wasted so much time with my obsession with Tool when I could have started my obsession with qotsa and Josh earlier. It started when I saw them with nin in 2014 after clockwork came out. It was the most amazing show I'd ever seen. Until the villains tour last year. He better keep making music forever!
Check out the many Desert Sessions if you haven't yet. And Eagles of Death Metal, Them Crooked Vultures, and don't forget Kyuss!!! I started listening to QOTSA on a whim. I bought Lullabies to Paralyze in a record store and I was completely blown away. QOTSA is the best modern rock band of all time. Talent like nothing I've ever seen in our era. Josh is fanfuckingtastic and so are his friends.
Yeah except Josh is original and versatile and Zep stole a fuck ton of material from various great artists. "I make the best records cause I only steal from the greats"
The crooning of his voice.. The plucking of the guitar strings.. The emotion upheaving and echoing off the walls... My loins from all my previous lives are throbbing at this master piece
Heart stopping- his voice is absolutely stunning. How could I not have discovered QOTSA until now? Nothing that came before even matters now, my mind is gone 🖤
I've been feeling exactly the same way! It's bumming me out. I'm blown away by his singing. The range and the effortless to which he sings. Why didn't I know this before?
I knew No One Knows but that was it. Saw Josh Homme on the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert and thought woah what a voice. Slowly working my way through their stuff. Make It Wit Chu is my favourite so far. What a song.
Honestly though, no surprise- so many QOTSA songs are performed by them so well acoustically, which is a true testament to their melodies. This one of course is suited for an acoustic version but so many of their heavy songs that you would think need the distortion, studio layered effects etc, are great when they do them acoustically.......can never get enough of these guys.
Honestly, most songs can be performed well acoustically if they're written in the right key - stuff like heavy metal doesn't work because it uses weird tuning like drop c that simply don't work well on clean instruments. But having great acoustic versions is more of a sign of great performers than great song writing.
Where have you gone again my sweet? Everybody wants to know Where have you gone again my sweet? Everybody wants to know Where you gone? I'm just a ghost, i'm on your street Waitin', when you comin' home? Gone so long Where you gone? On a long slow goodbye? On a long slow goodbye... I close my eyes, i just can't sleep Where have you gone again my sweet? On a long slow goodbye? On a long slow goodbye... Goodbye
😢 My Mother drowned in Hawaii,...she washed up and was cremated...hundreds attended her funeral - and this is my Soundtrack; I wasnt there, one day I had a Mother, next ,nothing. Miss you everyday MJ!!!❤❤❤
I'll never forget buying their debut just before a long road trip... it never came out. My friends were saying that Josh had gone soft after leaving Kyuss, but to me he just went to a different level.
He sounds so amazing here. He has to be my favorite musician. Queen's is GREAT live, too. That's when you know you're listening to a good band; when they sound better live than they do recorded. ^.^
I'm always blown away by qotsa, I saw them live and could hardly contain myself. I've been listening to them since 2009, qotsa has been there with me for the good times and pulled me through a lot of bad times. anytime shit hits the fan I put in my head phones and get a fat dose of music heroin.
QOTSA grand rapids. May 2003. Nick Oliveri on bass. Joey C. On drums supporting Songs For The Deaf. I was lucky, No One Knows with Nick's crazy ass on bass-the way it was meant to be! Mark Lanegan came out to sing a few too.
Saw Josh play this live with Dave on drums and John Paul Jones at Wembley. Let’s just say I found a new appreciation for this song and this is another superb version of it. Josh rules!
God josh really knows how to use his voice too doesn't he. He is rock n roll along with Jesse Hughes too, for this era of rock music. I just love it so much.. 🇨🇮🎶🎙🎶🇨🇮🤘
Josh ,,, and Co .... I want to thank you all .... for helping me though the loss of all my family that I grew up with... next chapter is easier with your music in my ear , mind , body n soul ... thank you all so much ❤
People often dont get the difference between QOTSA and EODM. I point out that Josh is haunting and Boots is electric. This is a prime example of Josh being Haunting. Beautifully so.
Happened in an instant too after the news broke. I believe Josh and most of the folks there were weeping. This version though: ruclips.net/video/Xn2HddKgxOA/видео.htmlsi=yel-OCmIrXLMsAfH As a Dane and an American who has lost friends due to depression this hit on so many levels that night and I will always remember it.
There's something about the physical being of Josh Homme that reminds me of Kenneth Patchen, the great American poet. Words, flesh and blood....plus the voice. There are no words in English to describe this. There is a Sanskrit word; Bhava. Glory be.
For a guy who never wanted to be a lead singer. Josh has fucking incredible talent man, the vocal control is insane.
the places he chooses to emphasize and then avoids the easy way out tonally....drives them tears steady down my cheeks every time....let alone once you know the reason for the song..they flow even harder....
I FUCKING know Right!!!!!!!!
Indeed
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say he has one of the best voices in music, ever.
He is the Goblin Prince.
Some guy at a party in Chermside once heard me say QOTSA wasn't that good. He grabbed me by the shirt and told me I had to listen to the albums again. If you're reading this, thanks some guy in Chermside.
I would have done the same thing!!..its done you a favour, really!!
Thats the thing with qotsa, the first time you listen too it never really seems to impress but the more you do the better it gets
For most commercial bands, the singles are their best material. QOTSA is one of the bands where you need to get the albums to hear the best stuff.
On my funeral playlist. No one comes close gor sheer human poiance.
:-D
This song is special to me. My wife lost her life giving birth to my daughter who also passed away. A friend of mine played it at their rosary.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
my god
So sorry for your loss too
Sending hugs mate

One of my favorite voices in music. Layne, Cornell, Gilmour, Lanegan, and Homme.
Dude nice! Great taste!
Don't forget Kermit and Elmo!
Kermit yes but Elmo was disqualified after "The Allegations" were found to be true.
And Mike Patton
I love Layne!!!
Wow that room has *great* acoustics. I don't think I've ever heard his voice so clearly. Josh is so, so good.
That glorious moment at 3:59 😍
Another reason I love Like Clockwork as a concept album. It could be a Broadway play I think.
Do you agree the acoustics is awesome but I think it's too because he's got that beautiful crucifix behind him that is just blessing him totally ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
The acoustics are an accurate representation of the ones in Zane Lowe's head.
Old churches were built that way.

River in the road is a perfect example
Most of their songs are written in acoustic at their start
There are absolutely awesome live versions of this song full band also.
Epic church acoustics! God reverb!
Unbelievable song writing. a true Legend, honestly. A perfect way to end Lullabies To Paralyze
Well if this isn't the greatest video on the internet I don't know what is
Tom Holland dancing and lip-syncing to Rihanna's UMBRELLA on Lip Sync Battle. Seriously. Then this.
Damn what a performance. He just nailed every note. 👏
Bit awkward Zane just sat there though 😂

QOTSA Them Crooked Vultures. Greatest original rock in 50 years. Period. Homme is the new Knight of Bowie, with real guitar skills.
