Yes, we get it- go to guitar land and solo if you like. I've been playing for 25 years (see what I did there?Lol) There's 2 talking points. I love Josh as a player simply because he does stuff no one else does, does it well, and he is not afraid to swing, which is missing a lot in rock music. His ear is fantastic as well.
FYI: the mode he's working on when he's describing how he takes some notes out of the scale he's in…is basically Lydian Dominant, which is the 4th mode of melodic minor. He's playing the D7#11 - D7 motif, so that's A melodic minor.

Looking for any comment about this and here you are! Do you know what that's from? It's not that song but it's a killer line.

After watching this I feel like I'm super hot and sweaty, a little high, and worse at guitar playing.
I completely enjoyed every second of the video.

Also I never realized how close Josh’s playing correlates with Billy Gibbon’s. It’s also kinda funny how ZZ Top was an influence to both black flag and Queens, and then black flag was also a huge queens influence

My god, the way he learned to play is exactly like how I did it with the exception I was 25 when I started XD
That being said, this video did unlock some stuff in my brain.
