I have been a fan for over 30 years. Fugazi is my favorite band of all time, and its not close. They are musically, ethically, and intellectually my zone, nothing else music-wise means so much to me and so is close to my heart. I am not alone, in fact there are millions of us. Please, we need to see Fugazi again. Please.
Me too! Me too! I saw Minor Threat when I was 13 in a barn in NoVa with a skate ramp in it. That was the start. Then finally caught Fugazi in 92’ in Richmond. Then a few more times over those last few years. Top 3 shows of my life. Would love to see them again. I’d pay more than $5. For sure.

I think it's rare these days to just have an artist talk plainly and openly about how they make a living, how they live, and explain it all in a friendly down-to-earth way. I think this is why I always loved Fugazi. Just a few guys from DC making music, doing it themselves, and no barriers between fans and them.
One day Fugazi will be back and the reception will blow their and our minds, and if they don't it is one of the greatest and most original bodies of music and art ever. Revolution Summer change my course in life and is a huge part of my being now. Thank You Brendan
I helped Brendan carry his old Gretsch drums (the ones he used with Fugazi in this video) to the stage at a show a while back. That was a big moment for me, as he is a huge inspiration to me. What a great guy
This man is so solid. What a beautiful life and a wonderful interview thank you so much for making this. His drumming is like the sound of rain. A blissful downpour from heaven.
This guy is amazing. Loved watching him play in Fugazi. It was the first time I realized it was ok to actually know how to play and be musical and still be punk.
Hi Brendan, I hope you read this someday. You are one of my greatest sources of inspiration, I want to thank you for everything you have given to culture in the world, Your way of playing is unique and special, Listening to those beautiful rhythms has helped me through the years, Thank you thank you thank you Greetings from somewhere in Mexico City

Hey, that's me at 20:00! The Messthetics headlined an awesome Food Not Bombs benefit show at St. Stephen's back in June. Thank you for this film, I am always excited and proud to see our city's punk community continuing to thrive. Brendan has been an integral part of that since the beginning.
Fugazi and Brendan represent true creative independence. I’ve spent hours and hours listening to their records, feeling inspired by their DIY approach and passion. love u guys!
Brendan is one of the greatest to ever play. Timing is impeccable. I was a teenager in Baltimore late 80s/early 90s. Seeing/living Fugazi's DIY focus first-hand instilled an ethos in me that served me well in life. I'm grateful for it today more than ever.
This is lovely. So torn on whether I want Fugazi to get back together and play (publicly). It’s such a perfect legacy, that in a way it the tasteful thing would be to leave it to rest as it is. But, I passed up the opportunity to see them play in Bristol, as I was shattered from work, shortly before they called it a day, and it will haunt me forever that I never saw them live.
Brendan is a powerhouse of a drummer and a gift to the world. His final statement gave me hope. "Somebody's Bad Brains are out there." Because if the scene dies, the culture dies. Forward-thinking music that pushes the envelope isn't created in a vacuum. It thrives inside scenes. I'm so glad to hear it's all still happening in D.C., because it's totally dead around my neck of the woods, lol. Really nice video, thanks.
Been a Fugazi fan since the early 90s and I've been lucky enough to see them multiple times, but I didn't know just how much I needed this interview with Brendan Canty at this point in his life. Thank you!
I can't emphasise how much I loved this video. Brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for making it, and thank you to Brendan for being such an inspiration for the last 40 years. Watching The Messthetics live a couple of years ago, I could see the absolute joy he still has playing music.
I love seeing Brendan. I was one of the older crowd who practiced in the Dischord House basement in the early 80s. I’m actually in the photo Jim took. It was a great time to be alive and create something that people still enjoy to this day. Yes, Birthday Girl is incredible. Give em a listen.
I feel so lucky to have seen Fugazi live.. and I still love all their music so much. Steady diet of nothing, the argument, the repeater.. gosh so many crunchy tunes!Gratitude
I'm mega lucky to have seen Fugazi 3x. Two shows at City Gardens, NJ and 1 at Drexel U. in Philly. I can't describe in words the feeling and energy of those shows - Thank you Brendan for all of your work!
Saw them in Detroit my senior year of high school in the fall of 1995. There were 3-4 bands on the bill, and the tickets were seriously like $10! Saw a great show, then got in an argument with some religious zealots at a diner afterwards - GREAT NIGHT! (edit): The show was at the State Theater - now called The Fillmore
Thank you for this interview! Fugazi defined my teenage years, growing up in the mid-Atlantic in the late 80s/early 90s. So wonderful to see this legend is just a good dad, in a regular house, living in happiness with his family.
This was great. Thanks for making it. He’s been a big part of so many bands and albums I love. Rites of Spring, One Last Wish, Fugazi…Well done Mr. Canty
Junior year of HS, I did an internship w/ a company that did sound and lighting for nightclubs in DC and I remember Fugazi checking out a space we had for rehearsals. I never met any of them, but just the mere fact that they were at my work looking at rehearsal spaces was the coolest thing ever!
I would LIVE to see Fugazi again!!! I saw them in the late 90's at the Metropol in Pittsburgh, a band called Urge Overkill opened for them. Boy was UO heavy. Good stuff all around. Watching this inspired me to order Repeater, so excited!!!
Was lucky enough to see them at Fort Reno just before they stopped playing entirely. I really hope they unite for one last tour ! Would love to see them again !!
