Lesson from Homme that I learned via this vid: When someone mentions a departed friend, SMILE. Instead of heart-pain, we could all see Josh smile & think: “that’s right: I DID get to be friends with that awesome guy.” It’s a lesson & example I VERY much needed.
When you lose a close friend it can hit so hard and Josh's lesson is so valuable, very difficult to put into practice but most worthwhile things are not easy.
I absolutely loved this. Angela was so wild and always blushing, I cheered with her the entire episode. Josh is my all time crush, what a beautifully spoken, charming man.

But yeah, the only ones to go up there with Homme by what they mean that you listed are the likes of Iggy, Grohl, Jack White etc. As big of a fan as I am of PJ Harvey, Ty and Kurt Vile, it's a different thing, just in terms of the so-called 'rockstar' type, but I know what you mean. As pure musicianship, yeah, your list stacks up.
Bourdain's passing was the most personally affecting celebrity death for me. That guy was a personal hero. His outlook on life, food, movies and people was just so inspiring.
Didn't know him by name, and not really his music, but this didn't stop me absolutely loving this episode. He was great, and Angela giggling like a schoolgirl the whole way through was an unexpected delight!

i needed this 100%. my uncle passed around 6 years ago and this really helped me as i am still dealing with grieve from it
