hands down the darkest bassline ever
September
I think that this is QOTSA’s darkest sounding song ever.
A Song for the Deaf has joined the chat
And one of the easiest as well lol
That title goes to SOAD's Mind.
Love this song. That bass line is thick as fuck.
What a fucking monster sound !. It's like a T- Rex out on the hunt for it's prey..Simply superb..
Or a great white shark through the ocean in search of its next meal.
I love how he claps for himself, he's like, yeah i know i'm fucking awesome
September
He in a interview says he claps for the audience
This is one of the best eras in Qotsa..
Like clockwork is BY FAR their darkest album!
Their best complete album imo. A personal favorite. No mistake given what Josh was going through that Reznor made an appearance.
Some of Homme's most excellent lyrics.
I can't decide which one of their album is the best, for me it's impossible. But for the guts feeling, like clockwork is the best. For fats driving, song for the deaf is the jam. When in high Era vulgaris is what I need ahaha
2:10 - 2:30 That right there is called songwriting
Listened to this album on repeat working in an ICU during Covid pandemic. Vibes of death. Such a dark album. Will always hold a special place in my heart, such a great album.
This song makes me feel like I'm going through sludge/mud
Hated the song for that. It feels so heavy and uncomfortable, which is the reason why I love it now.
bring some golf shoes
@@TheJupiteL felt the same exact way. Loved this album for years but hated this song. Now like 2 years later after not listening to the record I ust turned it on today and started it from the top... realized how incredible this song really is.
That bassline is a beast!
2:10 OH SHIIIIIIT... this guitars riffs is just a killer
The drum sound by JT is so tight, love it
My favourite Qotsa song of all time. Hands down.
Lanegan should have sung on this one. That would sound so great. Have homme on the View from hell is blue sky part....they should consider that. Lanegan should creep out of the shadows and sing this live
Bass is in outer space 🤘🏼 that breakdown is to die for too 🎧😎
For all those years in Kyuss Josh denounced LA I must admit I do find it ironic. I'm glad he's still around making real music though, he's a pioneer and a crucial/staple musician in our generation. Keep on rockin Johsua. :)
I want to learn the drum part to this song. It's awesome.
I describe this song as a dazed riff thats just dragging its feet across the ground.
Bassline is so bad ass! Entire album has this darker sound.
the best album of the year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:47 dat look
Melvins of the Stone Age
Best QOTSA song in years.
Easily my favorite recorded music session ever.
I fucking love this sound!
Wow!!! This is the best album of the year, of course! I love so much!!!
Feels like I’m driving down a dirty city street at night during the apocalypse and the car is running out of gas and people on the sidewalks are looting and killing and eating out of the trash.
Mr. Hotdog Shirt Guy pretty relevant now lol
That . Fucking. Tone. Oh my god, it melts faces . Already bought my floor tickets for the air Canada centre sept. 10th! WOO
The record and mixing is pristine.
wow, that was way better than I expected
Love the guitar in this!
This is what I needed. It set me straight tonight. Great job boys.
It's both guitar and bass that make this sound
Sat by The Ocean "was" my fav song on this album only as when released I was not happy with Like Clockwork and QOTSA is my fav band to date... but after, THIS became one of my fav songs ever... as let's face it it's badass. xD
This song is so damn good
So god damn good.
Such a great song
Lyrics on this new album is so strong and music amazing ... As always
Dang that guitar is sooo nasty! Love it!
BRUTAL
MOTHER FUCKING JOHN THEODORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I JUST SHIT MY PANTS
Beast of a player!!!
Fucking HEAVY
Temazo
Also did some good work with Zack de la Rocha from RATM in One Day As A Lion
You gotta love this lightbulb :)
Fucking love this song. Give his vocals some love on this one it’s tricky live.
massively fat bass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tripped some serious balls to this song and bugged out
Same here, I fucking love the live version, the guitar sounds goddamn insane, and that heavy ending is tits!!
Theodore is fucking great listen to his work on the mars volta's de-loused in the comatorium
Damn that is a good recording!
funny enough, Josh is definitely in is fuckin prime. Fucking amazing song/performance
Fucking great. I swear they just get better and better
Josh is "modern time" Elvis
you rock!
Fu..ing great song!!!!
This is next door to my office!
It's funny, the last album that invaded my brain as much as Like Clockwork has was De-loused. I know Jon didn't play on the QOTSA album, but still a strange coincidence. He's a great drummer. As much as I love Grohl I would have liked to hear Jon's take on these songs.
He played on the title track
2:50
Shuman has swag for days.
Sounds like Kyuss.
I would say, BETTER THAN THE RECORDING! HOW?
Dynamic.
It is.
2019
fücking excellent! kinda avant-garde rock/metal for me...
3:44 "Big smile, really a show of teeth"
sick
Same here.
So nasty! God I love e this band...
Goo.
He is so up himself
Queens of the Stone Age performing "Keep Your Eyes Peeled" Live at KCRW's Apogee Sessions
Theodore un relojito la cago!
Mestre Josh Homme
Oh God....
I wish the bass sound was more defined in this version, but the song is still kick ass🤟
The guitar takes your blood away.
bass, guitar and Josh Homme, dudes.
Director fucked up not doing a close up of Shumans bass playing around 3:09
Sounds like a whammy pedal to me. Maybe an EQ pedal in there too, to pull the highs out a bit better.
Semiacoustic guitar + C tuning + bass amp
How does one obtain such a guitar tone?
Thanks to the dumb audience noise being stupidly loud AF I am now deaf ‘cause this has to be played at full volume.
Almost as good as the recording. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!!
He looks like a lumberjack version of eminem here
michael shuman = punisher
Why would I when Shuman is already there?
Man when Josh was going good on that speed and I know it's bad for you I know but when it comes to music man it's f****** locks you in I'm a musician trust me I know and I can tell the difference when he drinks and when he's on s*** the love the music everybody loves and gets off on is Josh on speed
mean it's still good when he's the new stuff don't get me wrong but I can hear the little places that aren't as tight as they are like back in these days and again I say speed is bad it's methed up.. but goddamn it goes hand-in-hand with a guitar
Josh seems nervous as hell... It all sounds really good though, and the album is one of their best ones, IMHO anyway...
Lynchian mood...
Fuck. What kind of effect are Josh using, on the guitar?
2:10 👿
Josh is posessed at 3:48
that guitar sounds posessed
hommes looks like jason seguel in this video
i think josh plays through a bass amp for heavy ass sound
What kindw
thats cuz its a bass!
What happend here? 3:41
As much as I love Jon Theodore he can't play stoner or at least no with these guys. Anything fits.
