- Australia's Tame Impala made the most appearances on KCRW DJ's end of the year lists in 2012 with their sophomore album Lonerism. Watch the psychedelic rockers rip through all the hits from that album in their return to Morning Become Eclectic. Full session here: www.kcrw.com/mu...
3:26 That's how you end a drum solo!
Yeahhhh
Yeaahhh
Yeahhhh
Yeahhhh
Yeahhhh
I like how the drummer got a chance to flex at the end since the song has a pretty simple beat all throughout it.
the beat's pretty simple, alright but the phrasing is all over the place... damn good songwriting :)
Yeah, but actually it is pretty fun to play this song
Fun fact:
The singer IS Tame Impala He writes and records all vocals and instruments in the studio. The live band is basically a touring act.
Tim Murphy Kevin Parker is the one singing
@@jareddelgado5033 You're right. He is singing and playing guitar at this show.
The drummer could've just teleported from the 70's
psychopiano make it the 50s and you’re set
Or he's just French
He's rocking a vintage ludwig drum set nonetheless.
IT IS
I disagree, I could argue he could be more 70’s
These guys are to me, a band from the late 1960s who have discovered the fountain of youth and they've been a massive hit for the last over forty years and never age. I'm literally dying these guys are so amazing!
Hope you recover soon.
Yeah, but the band is like, just Kevin Parker, the other ones are the tour band, he does everything, bass, guitar, drums, vocal and mixing.
MusicalElitist1 I think it's too late 😢. RIP
So like the Monkees?
That Hohner bass and the Rickenbacker...I'm hearing 60s vibes for sure... can hear the "Revolution" single in that fuzzed out guitar... love it!
Such a heavy beatles and vintage feel
Andrew Weiner Rickenbacker from them and the famous McCartney bass
It’s crazy how they covered the wiggles and pulled it off, it’s hard to pull of a masterpiece but these kids seem like they did a good job
Tame Impala are the original writers?
@@mrdolphin8894 you are 😏
@@morton228 🤨🤨
@@jasondeandixon1323 you should have left it alone, Either Sivvan was being ironic or moronic, who knows.
LOL! What?
It's like John Lennon singing with Black Sabbath.
Gorillaz12d best comment ever
Black Sabbath + Beatles + Pink Floyd + cream
what did tame impala has to deal with black sabbath?i mean, its not the lyrics, not the style, not the looks, not the drums, not the bass, not the guitar,so wtf is it?
but i agree with the other bands u mentioned
Brunno Vedana it's the guitar. If you were familiar with Sabbath enough you'd notice. It's not exactly the same, but there's no doubt a slight sabbathy vibe in the guitar. The guitar is heavy in a similar style to black sabbath's.
That fuckin solo rules in this version. Album version is great too but their tones together are masterful.
+J. S. Carie Well said !
Agreed! They fucking killed that part.
One of the greatest solos of all time.
Hell yea
They play so well live that this take could be passed as the album track.
This is the kind of song that needs a 7 minute jam version
I would love to see them cover Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles
Emmanuel Morales Ride use to do an amazing cover of TNN....
Emmanuel Morales they use same beatles instruments, a try to sound like beatles... very stupid band if you ask me.
Beatles used many Fender guitars and amps, George played a Rosewood Telecaster, his psychedelic strat, VI bass guitar, Paul used an Esquire and John and George both had sonic blue 61 Strats
el nino Fuck, you're dumb.
listen real original bands with balls! like The Clash, not this pussy band of hipsters trying to copy The Beatles.
Kevin Parker is retro and fresh at the same time. I swear he's channeling Syd Barrett here. Honestly, if Syd had kept his shit together in an alternate universe, this would be exactly the kind of thing I'd expect to hear on a solo album from him.
Dan Williams Sounds like if John Lennon, Syd Barret, and black Sabbath formed a band.
It's nothing like Syd
Nah, not even close
No
syd was into the jingly jangly not the fuzzo wuzzo
When I tried out my Rickenbacker 330 on the day I bought it, I decided to forgo plugging it into a Vox AC-30 and instead plugged it into a Boss Katana 100 and decided to give the acid test of putting it through sounds people don't associate with a Rickenbacker.
And much like this guy I discovered that a Rickie LOVES fuzz and that it can do some gnarly stoner rock tunes. People think of Rickies as being these twanging sixties retro machines but they can do so much more.
Yeah, I have a jetglo Ric 330 and I use it for all the shit people don't buy rics for. I've never played a single Beatles or Byrds song on it.
Too many people try and peg ricks as jangly pop guitars
A rickis one of the most tonally versatile guitars you can buy. The problem is people don't have 1500 to 5000 to buy one...
So they've largely become a pop symbol only rich hipster douchebags can buy.
Same happened to the les paul...
Doesn't take away from how good the instrument is though
@@3star2nr Some people don't have the money, but 2 grand or so is hardly an impossible dream. All those who seem to clog comment sections complaining about the prices of Gibsons, Moogs etc are hardly spending their time productively. They should try working instead of complaining, the pay's so much better.
@@deaddoll1361 it doesnt matter how much you work. These prices are ridiculous, and these companies are putting themselves out of business...
The only reason companies like gibsin even exists is tax payers in memphis and other cities artificially proping them up...
Tame Impala is a lovechild of Cream, The Beatles, Iron Butterfly, early Pink Floyd, and The Beach Boys into one.
This might be the best song of the 2010’s
Sounds like a modern answer to John's "Come Together", mixed with some heavy metal influence. Can't get enough of it.
3:32 kills me
2:43 Kevin was happy they nailed that breakdown
I can't stop rewatching that little moment, he looks adorable for a second and then he goes back to being all serious. This man melts my entire being.
It was Disco Inferno-esque!
Jordan O i
Actually it's the opposite haha he made a mistake
Diana Hidalgo Díaz same 😍
this was the fist tame impala song I fell in love with. It is by far the grooviest song they have released
will never get old - on another level
Listen to Tame Impala makes me feel like I'm high without using any drugs hahaha
love them though!
lol same!! 😂😂
damn right couldnt agree more
Very true
Listening to it stoned though is pretty great though
Cringe
wtf you talking about, all the composition in every instrument is very good like the bass in particular.
I'm 61. I really like this a lot.
Check out all of his albums. They're incredible, and theirs a new one coming on Feb 14th.
It is old school music, and i love that
Snap! Me too👍😁
I don't remember Emma from the Wiggles growing a beard...
That drummer is not Emma from the Wiggles, idiot.
@@captainalex8003 r/woosh
🤣🤣
Wait which person looks like wiggles emma with a beard?
@@MCalla-jw8vh Wiggles did Elephant for like a version. It’s great! 🤣🤣
This song has the most compression I've ever heard. Awesome
I can't stop hear this song... Very Psychedelic... Remember me the 70's
This song is magical. Hell, all of his music is out of this world.
This song to me has some influences from Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and The Beatles. It's sick. Really love it...
The drums sound 10x cooler on this performance, also love the phaser effect on the them and the doubled length of the drum fill at the end of the song
That Rickenbacker with both toasters sound pretty perfect 😍
All the bridges and the stop before the solo holy hell super good composition!!
When I first heard this on the radio I thought it was John Lennon...
Jacob Gillis John Lemmon* Ayeeee
And they have the Oyster Ludwigs AND the Rickenbacker.
+Jacob Gillis and when I saw the video I realized that he is definitely OZZY!
John Lennon could never be this good
+Ariane Chaves de Faria lmao. john lennon is the best. this guy is good though
Very 70'ish.............Love the split string buzz saw sound.......Love the Organ.....
i fell in love with this song the very first time i heard it.
How are they so amazing?
***** No, that's very clever songwriting. It's not just pedals.
+Paul TheSkeptic yea i also agree its a little more than just pedals dude lol
+Paul TheSkeptic drums with effects
Kevin Delatorre Just, no. Do you guys really think that making music is so easy? "Oh, just get some stomp boxes and now your music is amazing."
haha
He’s so young 😭. Freaking love this guy. Got to see him in Austin 2021
...i did not know they were this good live
I go to every show from every genre and normally prefer small venue shows. I never expected they would put on one of my top ten favorite shows ever but they did and this song was a highlight. They're a must see. 🙌
Back to the syd barrett of early pink Floyd, impressing and so refreshing, well done
that panning at 1:14 jesus
That shit was fire huh lol gotta love panning
🔥🔥🔥
They sound like if the Beatles hadn't broken up, and continued recording into the 70s.
Nah theyd sound more like 70s Pink Floyd or ELO. Beatles ended their Psychedelic era in late 67.
They also have a Höfner bass in this video, same one Paul McCartney used
I usually don’t like the beatles comparisons but on this particular song i can DEFINITELY hear that
The sound is fucking awesome in this recording.
They sound like a mix of King Crimson, Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer and Camel together, Tame Impala is really GREAT.
Just in love with him!💜💜💜
3:32 so cute...OMG i love him!!!
The best band on the world
WHAT A VERSION!!!
Such a disciplined performance.
I love Tame Impala's 60's vibe!
That Hofner Bass almost makes me want to play Bass it’s so cool looking! That’s Maccas Bass that he made famous.
Brilliant tune
If kids that were born before 1995 had control of the music industry this would be the best band around
I dig this song.
Thanks KCRW! showing me new and interesting bands
2:39 something that can only be done live, gotta love those moments
saw them live last saturday; mindblowing show.
love this muchh.so rock and roll!
3:20 perfect drum!!
2024 y sigue siendo cine.
WOW! Incredible, so glad this came up on suggested vids, thanks RUclips. His driving tone and sudden punctuations are infectious. Funny that this came up in my feed right after watching Steve Wilson's "Antisocial" demo for "People Who Eat Darkness", Steve always plays barefoot, I see Kevin Parker does here also.
Omg.. They are always awesome.
That drum solo is fierce!
I don't know about anyone else, but after barely keeping my bearings through the guitar solo, the drum roll tripped me straight the f#@k out.
great live version
What a powerful riff!!
tame impala come back please. i need this T.i
The best ❤
this sounds me like the first pink floyd album "the pipper at the gates of down" what a memories, thanks
Song is "Say yes to me" from Surfer Blood
Tame Impala, "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" - San Francisco - Oct. 31, 2013
Thank you!

OMGGGGGGGG THANK YOUUUU
URGH that Snare sound
jesus is killing it on the drums
This video makes me so happy.
Bet he feels like an elephant shaking his big grey trunk for the hell of it!
.... Awesome lyrics!!
LOVE IT
Those guys are really extraordinary! I just prefer listen them LIVE than Audios
Exelente..! Canción... yeah.! 👏🏼👍🏼😎
that ending ^.^ so precious
Kevin Parker not wearing a scarf (rare footage)
Iván Murillo 13 only the real picked up on that!!
Could anyone tell me of a better band in the last 20 years or so? I mean really! These guys are so amazing!

The strokes
Well, he feels like an elephant
Shaking his big grey trunk for the hell of it
He knows that you're dreaming about being loved by him.
Too bad your chances are slim
And it's not like mister shook to get shy when they ask him who is on top
There must be something deep down in the dark down there
He's not too easily scared
He's got friends but they got fear
Wouldn't care too much if he just disappeared
Oh, look see there he is now coming down the stairs
Here he comes
He pulled the mirrors off his Cadillac
'Cause he doesn't like it looking like he looks back
He talks like his opinion is a simple fact
Somebody grabbed his collar
He cried the whole way home
No one been remembered a thing when they saw him again
That's how it is 'til the end
Yeah
Drummer is wicked!
I look forward one day I can shake your hand, mate. Absolutely Marvellous....!
3:23 tranquilo e favorável
faz o famoso sinal do Ronaldinho
Faz o sinal da hang loose
tá achando que só tame impala toca na barra?
foca mas não sufoca, esse é o dilema do Tame Impala
Topzera
Astounding
Kevin's little shimmy at the end is hilarious.
What a great track, love this.
I've always wanted to hear them play it live/ recreate I)
increíble la música
This is good I guess but it has nothing on the Wiggles version.
Bloody brilliant
Infectious.
so 'smart" and well put wow
This has been in my brain (Rent Free) for too long.
Oh and couldn’t remember the name.
Superb! Great solid groove.
Hofner will never go out of style.
He even has Johns Guitar!!!!! Damn he’s good
Close, but not quite. It is a Rickenbacker, though.
3:23 tranquilo john Bonham
This is some sweet sounding stuff.
