They’re just annoyingly brilliant. “Hey what if we took a Hives-esque riff and threw some psychedelic leads at odd angles?”
Josh is obviously the blood of the band but he gleefully surrounds himself with top notch dudes who add to the vibe. All hail.
wow did josh really said that
unfortunately this is a total waste of Jon Theodores talents. I like QOTSA but the drummer should be with the mars volta, not doing this basic stuff.
@ Maybe, but you surprised…I’m a great cook, do I want to make you beef Wellington everyday or have fun with a new grilled cheese idea in 12 minutes with stufff I just yanked out of the fridge?
This tune is a perfect blend of old&new QOTSA sounds. Hurrah!
Obscenery is the first time ive heard someone proclaim the word hurrah in real life lol...
Lol i had to say proclaim
Hurrah
the Jon Theodore camera with a view of the sunset is always great!
The golden hour is the best time for a Queens concert
@yourmomstube202 that or midnight
I met the bassist a few years ago. Nice guy. I always got the vibe that he was a D bag from videos and pictures but I was totally wrong. John Theodore was there too but he was getting mobbed by women so I didn't interrupt haha
As a teen, the bassist had a bit part in the movie The Wedding Singer. I guess you can call it a cameo now!
Mikey Shoes is a badass
Mikey oozes badass. His few appearances across music podcasts are fantastic, he's super considerate and lovely.
@@marycreaser6802😂😂😂
Met the whole of Mini Mansions a few year back too! Had a pint of Guinness with Mikey
This was the single that sold me on the albums as masterpiece. I was a bit underwhelmed when Emotion Sickness leaked, Carnavoyeur blew me away and the first time i heard this song, i knew we were in for something special.
Badass album honesty. Been 15 years since them crooked vultures already somehow, where the hell does the time go..
Wow this is very cool, Josh is playing a 9 string guitar but the extra strings are just octaves on 4, 5, 6. I hope to play one.
I was wondering what was going on with that
I also was wondering what the I was looking at
Yep, AFAIK this is why The Evil Has Landed (previous album) sounds so thick.
Finally, this album is growing on me.
Same here.
I was instantly hooked, the sheer pain from the lyrics but in like a positive way, it’s like he’s telling us there’s a lot of bs that can happen but you can transform that bs in something positive
Demon Cleaner.
Go With the Flow.
Paper Machete.
I just can't get enough of the solo @ 2:06
It's sooooo good! ❤
I heard this on the radio today and seeked it out here specifically because of that solo.
The best part was when they barely showed any of Troy’s solo. Gotta love multicam live rock videos and clueless editors.
People who work in broadcasting nowadays are absolutely talentless, everyone is just trying to get the cheapest crew possible. I've never seen or heard a broadcasted Queens gig that didn't have a plethora of sonic and visual problems throughout.
I saw this comment before the solo and what a bunch of horseshit you could see him for at least half of it
Camerachick is fuckin terrible. Thinking the same thing. What trash.
@@PMurray2694bullshit lmao. Wasn’t even half of it. A solo should take most of the attention. I want to see wtf someone is doing on guitar.
One of the nastiest solos ever! Love it, gives me freaking chills!
Holly shit they nailed it, perfection.
Vancouver October 3 rd here I come !!
Today’s the day for you! Hope you enjoy it. December 8th for me 😬
I saw these in perth in 2020 and was so delighted and surprised to see them coming to Australia and perth of all places. Josh said to the people in the stalls to come to the front and then basically told the security guards to go F themselves for stopping the people. So Josh took control of the stadium and gathered people down to the front.
Of course they ended with Go with the flow and of course I went insane excited for it! 😁
What a great fucking guitar solo
Dean's guitar... ❤
When I see these guys who all (excepted Michael Schumann) are at least 50 y.o., I am not afraid anymore to get old. ✊
They are on fire!
Poor Dean didn't have any camera on him :
he rarely does
It’s the curse of being slightly behind everyone
You still hear him lol
Dean is the glue guy. He needs no camera time...just respect.
What a amazing track
Loved it the first time I heard it and that solo is epic
@@therunawaykid6523 defo and hearing it live blew me away
Such a personal song with so much wordplay and cleverness. Amazing live! Lucky to see them in Minneapolis
What a f.. great song! Meaningful too!
They sound so fucking good live dude, its insane
Fuckin amazing, perfect song🤘🙂😘
As someone currently getting the solo up to speed I’m heartened by the fact Troy even struggled with it a bit 😂
Dean is appear missing
Dean is there, you can see in the background on the left a few times. He's just behind Troy.
This song 🔥🔥🔥
Love this shit! Head banging around in my underwear blaring this dope ass music! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cool hair all around
Just fuckin amazing, absolutely brilliant
Mikey Shoes is like always great!
The best!
Rockin’ song!
Theodore é maravilhoso❤
GREAT QOTSA!!!!!!!!!🔥🔥❤️
papel de machete, machete, machete😍🎶🎶🎶
It's stupidly unfair how good this band is 😤
Top
@alter art A może by tak wypuścić cały ten koncert na YT zamiast trzech utworów? :) QotSA dość swobodnie zamieszcza swoje performance live, więc myślę, że spokojnie moglibyście się dogadać.
How does Josh always find the perfect replacements
Troy killed that solo man
Is there a chance to release a full show like you did in 2013
Ive only been listening to rock for 5 years after i gave up rap so maybe i dont know much but why isnt these guys considered the best and its not closs there worss songs are better then others best
What the hell guitar does Josh Homme play?
At first glance it seems like a Hofner New Committee but it is not.
She has 9 tuning keys!?
Somebody clue me in please, who's the "new" bass player anyway
Mikey Shoes, he's been in since 2007.
@@samantha_t99 my bad, stupid calling him the new guy haha.... even like with the drummer, he's been there probably as long now... hard to follow Joey Castillo hands down my favorite
@jmason61 Tbh if you just listen to the music it's hard to know who's in a band unless you research it.
E.g. I thought Joey and Paul were still playing in Slipknot until I read they've been dead for years.
@@samantha_t99 ha yeah but I still know most of the lineups.... Joey J was easily one of the best rock drummers EVER
Theodore is a great drummer n everything....but I think Joey was the best...he brought a real raw masculine energy that counter balanced the more feminine vibes of the band
Man I really hope they play what the peephole say soon
Where is Dean Ferts?
how many strings on his axe?
9 strings
They're out to get you, aren't they?
Did know the guy from Sons of Anarchy was in the band
God, that's such a cool solo, although it was butchered a bit...
While Joey was a good drummer, I think John is so much better. Saw QOTSA @ O2 in London last they were amazing!!!
Hate to say, I told you so….. ALRIGHT!
Am I wrong that the last two albums, while solid, are a bit of a step down? There's a sort of stylistic sameness that crept in with Villains, and what I mean is, there isn't the slight left turn from track to track that really defined thr band and made them unique.
I'm not saying they've lost it or anything, but maybe they've gotten a bit dull.
You’re not wrong if that’s how you feel about it, it’s down to taste. I conversely love this album and put it down as my #1 QOTSA album.
Both tastes are just as valid, neither right nor wrong, it’s about resonance!
I’m holding my view on the latest one, some of their albums grow on me. SFTD is still the pinnacle for me though.
IMO the latest one is great.
Villains is their only album that's on the weaker side, all the others are amazing.
What kind of the hives it is this ?
BadAss band
2:36 that was a very weak solo
troy still fumbling through his own simple solo lol. it even starts out wimply and meek, no presence or confidence whatsoever. sad
i was going to comment on the vocals, seems like the entire sound levels are weak.
What the fuck? That solo is insanely hard, it has all those 16th notes bends and slides??? Sure he stumpled through it but it's also just a hard as fuck solo
@@joellomusicyeah people say some absolute nonsense
Terrible
The hives should probably sue them. This is “I hate to say I told you so” with different lyrics
@@dazediss6629They're similar, but Paper Mache is better
Im really starting to see a lot of the sound is coming from Dean and Troy especially...Troy
They're all sonic geniuses, no wonder Troy is the longest-lasting member in this powerhouse of a band appart from Josh of course
Troy
Josh still could have wrote the riffs
@@lilwheeezefrom what i gather he writes the entire song and riffs i assumed all the badass solos were his but the more ive payed attention im seeing alot of the dope gyitar sounds and wierd awesome solos are coming from Troy....you listen to all the albums and you can tell where he came in. I love the fuck out of QOTSA and Josh its just something im noticing
