- For the final week of our training plan we are joined by Our usual coach Ken Nason, and its great to have Brian back to keep Damian under control. Andy Goulding also returns to keep his fans happy. We have a competition to win the 1st ticket to Cork City Marathon 2025, leave a comment with what you would like to see us to in the future of the channel.
Well done folks. Enjoyed watching the video's as much as the podcast. Keep up the great work
Great series of videos. Keep up the great work all
Great series folks. Appreciate all the content
Thanks a million lads. Very informative and encouraging. More of the same for the future please and maybe the odd clip from the podcast to whet the appetite!
Thanks all for a great few weeks of advice.
Looking forward to the marathon and after party 😊
Only discovering this but some great advice and will definitely watch some more. Only started road running at Christmas, My 1st ever race on Sunday doing the full marathon. Looking forward to it. Thanks lads
Have loved every minute of this 16 week programme lads thanks a million for all the work you put in. I'd love shoe reviews from Damien but I'd also love gel reviews, maybe a mobility programme Ken 😉 & some tips on safely building up speed work & avoiding injuries where possible. Hoping to take part in the full next year so this would be an unreal prize. Thanks again & see ye at the after party 🥳
Fantastic Series Lads, even found myself listening back to the beginning weeks to hear the Q&As.
Would definitely put an emphasis on advertising not just on the Cork City Marathon Home page. Admittadly discovered the RUclips while doing some preliminary research if course remained the same, water/fueling stations, toilets etc to just be familier. And saw the Podcast listed on the page only then.
From the Point of View of Cork, I wouldn't change the programme than ye have going with Kens help with programme and Q&As. Would be interesting to see the Behind the Scenes of any of you guys in Race Day prep, following Kens programme, day in the life style videos. Almost like what you have described for what next years 16 week coaching plan winner would have to undertake. Possible Sunday runs as a group, meeting subscribers, and going about the journey together as the weeks develop.
Then in broad terms you could always look at year round content for a wider audience in Dublin for the Marathon, Great Limerick Run, possibility of the Quest Challenges (even though there is cycling involved can introduce Trail Running), we saw Brian do Manchester (would have loved to see more of that), even possibly a GoPro vlog on the race itself if, or even London if the Ticket situation went in yere favour. That you aren't limited to an Annual Build up to Cork, and of course, year-round content.
Thanks for all the videos, look forward to Sunday and best of luck to everyone taking part 🏃♂️➡️🏅
Thanks so much. Great advice there!
One idea for future videos would be like this of a running doc, where you all give your perspective on the issue.
Looking forward running the CCM 2025!
Great podcast, would be great to have more nutritional advice pre and post races and training. Post marathon injury prevention/ recovery programme and exercises.
Thanks guys for everything. An idea for something similar to the marathon plan might be a couch to 5k or something to help those returning from injuries or lost their running mojo.
Cheers for all the advice lads and the laughs along the way. Never missed an episode. Defo think ye should keep it up. Just come up with a different topic every week and shoot the breeze. Talk about runners/trainers and give advice, talk about the mental side to running, come up with challenges for people , training plans for various distances I.e lads trying to break 20mins 5k or under 45mins for 10km etc. People will continue to watch as you've the foundation now ❤
Thanks lads a great 16vweeks so informative..please keep Andy he's very level headed.... maybe some future videos on nutrition recovery strength training thanks again🎉
Can I also say thanks to Ken he was some man to put up with ye...the term " saw doctor" scares me though.....I hope it relates to his taste in music🤣🤣🤣
Have loved listening in awe to advice for the marathon in the hope some day to have the courage to sign up. In the meantime would appreciate some plans on other distances as I guess plans do differ
Many thanks for all the advice.
An idea might be to stitch together a number of key races over the year. e.g A 10k, half marathon and marathon.
Well done on a great training plan series, enjoyed every minute of it.
How about a team Damian versus team Brian challenge, where ye each pick a team from your listeners for a race and the fastest total time wins? Would be a bit of craic building up to it every week.
Or else, i think a few videos with Ken doing demos of warm up stretches or strength work would be good.
Really enjoyed the series, loads of info and the banter with all.
Future ideas possibly how to run a faster 5km, how to run a faster 10km. And so on. Marathon journeys are epic. I’m on my 11th journey in next next week 5 of which were cork and have had some epic crashes and one or two highs. I think for me I like the long slow and need a push or help to learn to run fast. Marathon running doesn’t necessarily help with that if that’s the focus hence a program to run a faster 5km and maybe at the end, have a race with different waves and see how many each person can bring across the line. This is from the running channel the race idea. Could be a brother versus brother ultimate victory Brian
Great episode.Great job. Great crew .THANK YOU ALL.
fantastic 16 weeks with lots of great advice
Brian don't ever ask Damian about MIDDLE CHILD SYNDROME. Please don't ask him😊
I think if you all started running that would be something new for the show
I’d love to see she reviews. In a video, you could do a breakdown of all the shoes from one manufacturer for example. Or, do videos where you cover shoe categories from various companies.
I’d be interested in a video on daily trainers for the more plus sized injury prone slow runner like myself 😂
Great show again lads. Definitely would love to hear more about some home preventatives for specific running injuries e.g. IT band syndrome, runners knee and shin splints. Thanks for some great advice over the last few weeks.
Love your podcast and have enjoyed these videos. I think advice on specific basic S&C exercises for beginners or first time marathon runners including band work would be good. I know this is one area I neglected when training for my first marathon because I wasn’t sure where to start. Lots online but hard to know when starting out which plan to follow.
Thank you for all of your time. I'd love to see ye do running challenges against them or get people involved in them. :D
Great job over the last 16 weeks. Love the positivity and buzz you have created in the build up to CCM.
Unfortunately I fell at the final hurdle and most likely won't make the start line. Although I think there is a 6hr cut off so i'll see how things are on the morning.
Hope to see you all at the after party 🍻🍺
plenty youtubers doing shoe reviews in my opinion, unless you are putting unique runners diary spin stay away. I would like general running apparels reviews. Finally muscle does not weight more than fat, it is the same but muscle is smaller in size at same weight
