It's 2022...who's still a fan of this amazing group? Now it's 2023 and how many are still fans of London Grammer? OMG, now it's 2024...there're still amazing and still an awesome group!
Hahaha, noo, your comment was so sharp! I got to know about them a few weeks ago and I'm like "in love", hehe but I haven't listened to their CDs yet...would you recommend them?
I quite agree (writing 4 years on). It really was an authentic moment in an industry awash in otherwise. Cheryl is the real deal. And she was--and is--right about LG. Gonna be hard to get tickets post-Covid. :)
They are touring the world, their songs can be heard in lots of tv shows. Even my ‘main stream pop only’ friends know strong and hey now. To me, it looks like they are doing pretty well, still.
Her voice cuts through toxic family and partners, pain, fear, violence, disarray, loneliness, sense of injustice or disappointments, like a knife goes through butter. It reminds us that we, conscious probes of Galaxia, we the luminous beings willed ourselves into matter here on Gaia only for a little while, just a short while...
First i discovered AURORA.. which was quit frankly the biggest revelation of my life for me... and i‘m a musician for over 20yrs. Now this... both on KEXP. This platform is so dang important for education and art & expression alike
My dad passed away around two weeks ago... Just before he went to the hospital and went on a ventilator he told me this was his favorite song. Nothing thus far has made me cry so quickly, this is a truly beautiful song and it resonates with my thoughts and feelings going through this loss
I'm so sorry. Mine just passed 2 months ago, but I didn't know his favorite song of late. Blessed that you can cherish his memories with the song he named, and relive moments in time with him every time you hear it.
I'm sorry for your loss. I believe your father soul is in peace. It is nice to hear he did share to you his favourite song, you had the moment well spent with your dad. No worries and keep moving forward for him.
this woman can make me cry with her voice. Lyrics dont even matter, even if i understand them. She has the mystical - magical tone that instantly triggers deep emotions in me. I can't believe it
So cool. I cannot find the right words to express my feelings but I really think that the most powerful, invisible message from her voice is hiding between any note and the next one.
So this is the performance that i keep coming back to. I've seen alot of others getting the views etc. Its the most pure and beautiful of all my favourites from them. I know there are so many beautiful performances from this angelic voice.. this is my go to, to truely hear it.
Nine years later...EXACT same reaction. What an absolutely INCREDIBLE voice she has!!! Thank you KEXP for all the bands you have introduced me to, from live in-studio shows, to listening while traveling outside the country when I get homesick. Not sure why I never contributed but this year I finally became an amplifier by making monthly contributions.
Her voice makes me feel like I'm being pulled deep underneath her ocean wave, sinking slowly. But the pressure from all sides comfort me as I drift asleep.
2024 and I'm just discovering this now!! I have no words for how beautiful this is..and I'm crying in its beauty and raw power. So grateful to have found this now.
I’ve been a guitarist for over 29 years, and this guitarist has self-control and understands that less is more. His fingers touch the strings in a way that generates a unique sound. And, then we have that incredible vocals of Hannah that comforts me so much in the griefs of life that I could die right now and be held in the tenderness that transcends earthly suffering. All of the musicians are playing an integral part of this unique and impressive sound that touches us so deeply.
great insight ... it also suspiciously sounds to me like his instrument is perposly tuned a half pitch off in each octave... to match the discordant harmony in her trembling voice of an angel
55 years of age now and I have heard the sweetest, best, unbelievable, effortless voice of all time and I have grown up listening to some of the greats male and female,I have even played with a couple.
Been a couple years since I first listened to this broadcast. It still gets to me. The moment Hannah starts singing in Interlude just melts my heart. What a beautiful voice.
I'm very grateful a platform like RUclips exists. It takes me on Journeys and I am very rarely unhappy with the path. 7 years on from the upload and I'm glad I could experience this.
London Grammar is beautiful on record for sure, with Hannah's voice being like the cries from an angel, pure and hauntingly passionate. If you have ever loved someone the way she describes in Interlude and Flickers it must really touch your heart. But when you hear them live, the quality of their sound is incredible, and the power of her voice comes through so beautifully. They have only begun to touch their capabilities. They need a real drummer, a technically brilliant drummer to add to the power potential on stage. That will round out their sound and allow them to do much more!! Absolutely amazing!
+Andrew Mayes Yeah, you were pretty complimentary until you had to tweak things at the end, there. As soon as I reached that part, I immediately stopped considering what had preceded it.
Good grace, the blonde opens her mouth and a 12 pound sledge hammer just struck my heart. Goosebumps all the way up to my scalp. A damn siren walking among humans.
And after 4 years I’m back here again where it all started, where I listened to my favorite band for the first time. The sole purpose of listening to London Grammar has incentivized investing in all types of audio equipment. Started with a pair of airpods, passed through speakers, over-ears, and currently ripping through a professional DAC + pair of beautiful IEMs. Crazy that without KEXP and LG I’m not sure I would appreciate music as I do today.
No, that would be our Blessed Mother, Mary most Holy. There is no other perfect human, Knock it off with the dramatics. She is a killer singer..don't go overboard.
I mean who doesn't feel like the host in the room after that truly spellbinding performance of Hey Now. Wow it just sends chills and all 3 songs are truly effortless but powerful af.
I heard this band for the first time about 2 weeks ago and I am not kidding when I say I have listened to this album about 30 times straight threw. I haven't done this in a long time.
I heard Hey Now Song about 6 month in a Trance Mix of New World Punx, the last song!! When I heard this voice... I broke to cry... I rapidly check the playlist of the New World Punx set and look more about this band... Their music is a Eargasm!!
Hannah Reid's voice is - put equally as simple as it is perfect - one of the best in the world. Warm and comforting, yet also fragile. I could listen to her work all day!
All 3 so talented. I don't get people who are dissing the guitar player - he is perfect - playing the style that makes the groove they are getting at. Also, the DJ was great.
Hannah Reids voice is for me utterly spell bindingly beautiful. It really is. I have grown to adore London Grammar....the more I listen the more empowered the band, lyrics and that voice make me. Thank you Hannah and co and thank you KEXP 👏 x

Carlos A. Redondo She's really good and really respectful. She's been there for some time and you can tell she's a bit more seasoned than the other people who introduce them (some of which are men) and she's just really good at being subjectively receptive, if that makes any sense. I think she's great.
" (some of which are men) " I'm curious about what you meant by this? Seems so out of place in your comment is all I feel like I'm missing something haha
I think he means that she responds like a human being and not just a scripted interviewer. There's a host at KEXP who, is probably a perfectly decent human being, but oh my god he always acts like he couldn't give any less of a fuck about the music, band, or their answers. Cheryl just seems so welcoming and invested whenever she hosts.
They need to stop being so fucking awesome. Are you kidding me? Her voice is painfully beautiful, and shouldn't be coming out of someone so young. And the music. Ugh. Too good.

There's another guy behind all this that was very good that day and that's the sound engineer ! The sound is VERY GOOD ! Good job ! But yes, it's true that the musicians and well ready.
Is he responsible for the noise? It was there from the band's side the whole time. Take a listen during the silence at about 4:06. It's bad enough having it there and broadcasting it, but to then put it up on RUclips without cleaning it up is beyond comprehension.
Every time Im working alone i play this performance along with a few other of my favourite songs. A girl walked into my workplace once out of the blue while I had this blasting. She asked who's the artist and complemented on the song. I was so happy
The live sound in the studio is by far the clearest most real sound. It sounds like your sitting live in the studio. It makes the performance by far the best I have ever heard from a studio recording and London Grammar nailed the performance perfectly. I still come back to listen to this amazing performance! Cannot believe this was recorded 10 years ago.
Wow, this is very impressive. The voice of that female singer goes through marrow and bone. Even without bassplayer and drummer they fascinate me fully.

"Strong" still makes me tear up, all these years later. Beautiful
I love Cheryl's reaction to the first track. In my opinion that is the highest honor one can recieve. Emotionally moving someone that way is a gift.

The way Cheryl says "wow". She hears a lot of music and knows that it was something special.
I like that too. Maybe Cheryl surprised herself with how moved she was by the song.

Love the radio presenter's honest reaction, really does the music justice. You can see how excited she is to have them in her studio.

@@CliftonBullard And she knows pure class when she sees it.
This is the video I have met LG for the first. Still superb!
Wow, this is very impressive. The voice of that female singer goes through marrow and bone. Even without bassplayer and drummer they fascinate me fully.
