The kexp sound guy deserves a raise
I'll second that!!
Kevin Suggs
Kevin Suggs is a legend. The guy can take literally any genre of music and produce it to perfection.
Do you think they have a low salary?
It good
I’m a radio operator in Italy and I send you my compliments for the music selection and for the incredible quality of your recordings and sound engineers I’m really impressed.
Forza
I agree...AMAZING !!!!

Just bought their album, Full Circle. I've played it about 10 times or more. They are Fantastic!!! I'm a 60 year old, male, music lover. My five greatest discoveries this year have been Haelos, London Grammer, Tash Sultana, Michael Kiwanuka & Alabama Shakes. All this thanks mainly to this RUclips channel: KEXP!!!! Thanks folks, keep it up!!
Similar lineup to some of my recent finds. Also try Parker Mislap, Tinariwen, Rhye, and Khruanbin.
Thanks for the tips
Try Bon iver.
Tash Sultana is amazing artist! She is my discover of the year too.
The same for me. If you're into Tinariwen's genre of Sahara Blues I recommend: Terakaft, Tamikrest, Bombino (who performed here too) and Imarhan
6 years later and I still LOVE LOVE LOVE watching this recoding. Shimmering and amazing!
I've come back to listen to this recording many times over the years as well. It's brilliant!
It does not get better than this!
Perfect in every way, even after the 1000th listening I get goosebumps all over and a huge smile om my face.
KEXP has the greatest recording Engineers on the planet. I wish you guys could record every album by every band everywhere all the time forever.
No shit!
The drummer is amazing!!! He hits notes perfectly.
The thing is that the sound is so great that you hear every move of the drummer. So awesome ;)
I was feeling so down, so pointless and at a loss of faith. Thank you KEXP x HAELOS to keeping the spark of life alive.
Music always has a way of healing the soul 🙏 it is the universal language that connects all of humanity together as a whole. It was 7 years ago when this video came out and it found me at a time of despair and need in my life. I can relate 100%
the interviewer is the best, she is always so informed and makes the whole thing fell so natural. i´m sure bands fell pretty comfortable there. Thanks KEXP.
Ayooo
Sheryl Waters is a national treasure.
She is the Queen Mama of all music radio hosts.
Indeed! And she's soooo sweet!!
Get utter Spirit Of Eden Vibes off the start of this Hælos are absolutely fantastic
Discovered these lot a year before lockdown and they were a large part of what kept me sane during it. Thanks Haelos!
1. Pray 0:34
2. Earth Not Above 5:52
3. Dust 18:00
4. Oracle 22:52
Thanks :)
+BlackhawkX02 awesome! thanks
the times are wrong
Juke
Azoth Hunter Wondered about that myself, but it is from when they start playing. 30 second intro, 2 songs starting on cue followed by some chat and 2 more songs.
Wow found this band today, what a sound pure talent 👏 2023
Lucky man - Great day 🙏
Now You’ll be stuck with Haelos like a full year listening 😂
I just found this in 24. 63 and discovering new music by talented young people with real soul is a joy in these grey times. Thank you
PRAY DON'T FALL DOWN I bet I've listened to this around 50 times since it first came out. Need it just as much now in 2023 as in 2016. Thank you for this song.
My absolutely favorite performance! The music and feelings are so amazing, continiously on repeat when I want to chill, relax and dig in my own thoughts for years now!
How is it that KEXP manages to introduce me to the best music ever. No BS here. Every time I hear a new artist I say they are in my top 10. You did it again. Thank God for the internet and thank God for KEXP. And if this discovery is Sharon’s doing…Thank God for her.

@@haelosmusic Wunderful. Voice, harmonics, ideal. Bravo
Could not agree more!
Bands like Haelos will be the reason, why music was my first, and will be my last, LOVE!
Drummer's play is so clean and precise !
That guy is a machine - so great.
Yeah he really is flawless.
David Di yup. Unique. Alot going on in there for him to keep such a poise . And he is all heart with his drumming too
He's the highlight of the band!
There's actually two percussionists.
I live in Australia, i'm old and i love music, KEXP has got me into about 20 new bands/artists etc, but VERY into them, mail order, t shirts, playlists, vinyl. Love.
Between RUclips, and KEXP, more new, and interesting music have been brought to our attention, and we're all the beneficiaries of this. It's wonderful to hear music on RUclips, before purchasing a CD, based on a single cut. And, I thank RUclips, again, for providing this forum...
This is in the top 100 best live performances of all time... its gotta be
till you listen over 100 tunes :)
@@TheDemzar I’ve listened probably 2,000 times at this point
top 10. i can't think of anything better. i have first heard it yesterday. its soooooo amazing,
Life should be eternal, just to enjoy music like this forever. That feeling when listening something new is like falling in love or a thing like that, so beautiful. Thanks Haelos and Kexp
Hell yea! I talk about that all the time. That feeling of finding new music. No better feeling. When the Tune Gods bless
Life is eternal. Depends on how You define Yourself😉

+Maria Gomez Oracle is FANTASTIC!
Yup!! C:
I found this clip by mistake, but for the last 2 weeks I can't stop from playing it and listening it again and again.
The sound is so good, much more beter than the real clips..
HAELOS, I Like your music it is SUPER !!
Lotti, your voice is amazing...!
Thanks to KEXP.
The percussion section sounds absolutely amazing.
Oracle is absolutely stunning. The music has probably the most substance I've ever heard in a song. So much going on without bottle-necking the song. Beautiful.
Amazing band overall, but the drummer just makes everything come together.
Here dude. The cake. Take it.
@Lothar Lustig I agree and I’m a lead singer …. This drummer is exceptional. But I feel that way about a great bass player too😂
@@toulad5317 They're all important. It's not a competition
This live recording sounds much richer and deeper than the same pieces on Spotify. I hope the album will sound like this KEXP session. All in all awesome!
Big kudos to KEXPs sound engineers. This is one of these cases where I prefer the kexp recording over their own produced album just for sound quality reasons (despite youtube using opus VS. whatever the heck spotify web player is using). Other notable examples: Daughter, Jose Gonzales, etc.
Exact experience I had after just discovering this band. Really amazing work all around.
@@Gandalf721 Sure this is still the case? RUclips uses opus and it is decoupled from the video codec since a long time now I think. And opus is really good, like really really good. in 210kbit/s and upwards I don't hear a difference to flac and I'm really sensitive to compression artefacts in audio
Love this. I'm also in my 60s and also love Aurora, Alice Phoebe Lou, Of Monsters and Men, Eivor, Wagakki Band, Sofi Tukker, Bjork, Lisa Girard, Agnes Obel..... There are so many talented musicians out there.
Congratulations, You just subtracted 20 years off your age
Try London Grammar ...
check out bon iver (start with flume) :)
Love agnes obel.
wow, you're my music taste twin
no wonder we loved this group too 😅
This drummer is insane!
I'm blown away, so happy I found this. I should be sleeping but music.
I just stumbled upon Haelos a couple days ago after seeing Neko Case live in Houston, and am blown away with their music! I am also a 60 year old musician that have been in music all of my life primarily married to the bass guitar. I am very critical of music and it takes a lot to captivate me...Haelos has captivated and is one of those unique phenomenal sound and musicianship!!! In love with you guys sound!!! Vocals are killer!!!
WOW WOW WOW NEW FAN. LOVE IT. KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK. 53 and been rocking for ages. These songs moves me, enlightens my sonnet nerve. Boys Town Choir Alumni. Go Kids GO. Love your music.
She is the best and most genuine music host I've ever come across, she is excellent and genuinely curious about where the music comes from! I don't know her name and feel ashamed that I don't...but, she's a blessing to music...I love her for what she does! She's a gem...if you read this, you're a GEM!
Yes she is great, her name is Cheryl Waters would love to be interviewed by her one day.
You should eat less molly:) JK
I so love KEXP.
They keep introducing me to some new (for me at least) bands!
It's amazing!
I want to thank you guys! Keep up the good work!
Blesses
+André Mello samee hereee
+André Mello yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
KEXP rules.
+André Mello I stop here often to see what's up! :)
Me too. Been an absolute goldmine for great music.
Thank you KEXP for so beautiful music.
This group is so... damn... GOOD. Perfectly layered and lush instrumentation and vocal harmonizing. Love it!
How have I missed them before now. EPIC group and wonderful sound, KEXP! Thank you for this gem of a set!
Never had heard HÆLOS before, but the moment I heard Alan speaking I knew, I was gonna love them. And I do
I love the fact they have two drummers, sounds so powerful
Loving the glimpse of the new KEXP digs, mood lighting and all!
The KEXP producer is a badass
Efraimsson sooooo many times I have been turned onto bands I wouldn't have ever heard, due to normally listening to a much different style... but kexp reminds me on "tiny desk productions" with less politics. I like the political aspect of channels that present tiny desk, don't get me wrong... but kexp just shines the music for music sake. They have handed me so many bands I never would have heard. Jah9, Still Corners, Healos, SAMARIS, so many ore gems
@@theesweetscience2500 that's it, and let it be
When they gave platform for Aldous Harding i FaINTED
《Thee Sweet Science》 they’re not producing the music though right? Just Curating?
@@Fee.1 I think he means the producer of the show itself, (Live on KEXP). You are managing staging/lighting/audio, cameras and other equipment plus scheduling and coordinating with the bands...etc. When the music was originally recorded by the band, they used a producer as well. Ditto for official music videos.
I love this band, the songs are out of this world
Love this music performance by HAELOS! First time hearing HAELOS music, definitely some Magic and Love being pored into these songs. Keep up the magical music coming out! I'll need to purchase some of your music. Also thanks to everyone that was involved in capturing the recording of the rich music and video, the sound is amazing! Feel like I'm at a small music venue watching this.
This was 6 years ago... Where I was then... They are awesome.
This band and this performance are for the ages! A state of grace. They are so together, the music carries you away, and the sound recording is absolutely perfect. I come back to this session whenever I need a lift of "dark euphoria".
One of the best recordings out there on the internets. Wow.
you'll never know how much this relief my anxiety when im starting to have an atack.
Her voice , the rythm , the aesthetic, everything is just so soothing.
not my style of music at all but every once and a while, sometime music will come out of nowhere and simply stun you .This is one of these times.
I like your perspective, thanks for sharing it.
Lloyd Dieser wow. You just articulated exactly what I was thinking. Not usually my style but haelos floored me. Bands like SAMARIS, haelos , and others have done exactly that , to a fella that usually has a much different list of bands in the mix hhaha
heh I was just thinking this exact same thing as I was listening to it lol
Lloyd Di
Sonically pleasing
Excellent percussion, and a fine sound. I thought this was fantastic.

Once again KEXP is at the top of the league with their recording quality; truly stunning! Great performance as well.
I came to KEXP specifically to test out my newly purchase Monitor Audio Silver RX1s, because KEXP has phenomenal sound engineers, and I am just... wowed by how good their videos are.
It sounds mesmerizing. HÆLOS plays as beautiful as always, but also, a big shout-out to KEXP engineers.
I was amazed just how incredibly good they are live. Mad respect for their musical talent. Sound unreal live. VERY under-rated band for certain. Will go buy Full Circle because they deserve my money!
the drummer is sooo cruelly good my god!!!!
It feels like you step into another dimension when listening to haelos, what a fantastic musicall trip!
absolutely perfect;)
Like how they sing together (all three vocalists) - it's a great sound.
This band is awesome. I love their sound. Thanks KEXP. They are definitely part of my music library now.
She is sooo beautiful!
at all they cool
*Sʜᴇ - 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐢 - ɪs Mᴀɢɴɪғɪᴄᴇɴᴛ.*
She's very talented singer.
@@LundInc Yes, what a beautiful name - Lotti Benardout
She is gorgeous indeed. And man "she can sing"!
I just love Cheryl Waters and KEXP.
KEXP - Home of the real music!
Cheryl said it already: Super-clear wide-screen sound, gigantic, beautiful.
Something to fall into, just like into a cushion. Highly proficient band with elegant vocal parts. Haelos is one of the best among all the good music here.
what a lovely singer
This music is truly on another level
I love how the 1st song starts with a sample of Alan Watts, that's just so cool! so cool! Did I say how cool it was haha.
Stunning sound! I don't think you could ever get bored of this, there's just so much depth to it!
Depth. Exactly. And i didn't know who that was in the beginning speaking ...so thankyou.
I can't stop listening to this entire album. So so good.
i cant stop listening to this
These guys are fantastic , great drummer , everybody plays great , Amazing.
What a performance.
I discovered so much new music after finding Haelos. Really got me into trip hop and the likes of
Massive Attack, Portishead, Unkle, Sneaker Pimps, Tricky, DJ Krush, Allflaws
I can totally relate.
Check out Vok as well
this is the case when a band sounds better live than on Studio recordings. Awesome!
Jam Fre Wall, thank you KEXP sound engineer
I own this Full Circle album and it is very beautiful but their live performances bring out so much personality and emotions
agreed.
Same is with "The Do" performance! Better sound and and more emotional! Thank you guys!
About as stunning and additive a musical mix as I've heard in like forever. Obvious the amount of care they took in layering their sound. They've hit on the magic formula for a new age in music. I'd go just about anywhere to hear these guys live.
The vocals on the first song reminded me of Portugal. The Man. Awesome
I love K E X P and am truly grateful for the musical experiences they provide. Miss going to the block parties 🎉🎉🎉
The interviewer, Cheryl Waters, has the perfect flow. It's all wonderful! Thank you!💎💎💎
I keep wondering.
How is it possible to be so beautifull?
Interesting, no bassist. There is no slacking off for the drummer, he's got to bring it and fill the spaces. Brilliant, to be able to reproduce that huge wall of sound live.
wow! the sound of this band is so full, deep and dark. love it!
Still love this after 100 times.
The sound quality of this set is just amazing :)
so much wonderful people arround the world....
this is amazing, the sound is fresh and clean... a new gift of kexp for me jaja
+leyner mora abarca
Agree, it suprised me
leyner mora
When "Dust" started playing, I started to cry. OH GOD!!
Its amazing to listen to many of these fabulous new talents. Especially having been immersed in several musical ages from underground rock through new age, synth rock ,new wave, disco, soul etc and hearing many of those influences so stunningly melded into brand new sounds. Its great to be turning my grown up kids to all of this. Its a beautiful journey. Thanks.
This is my new favorite RUclips channel. I cant believe it is 2020 and i am only just catching on. The good thing though is that i have a catalogue of past work to go through.
The KEXP version is superb - packs a lot more punch than their recorded version (which seems to have only electronic drums, and does not have the extra spice from the tambourines ... Awesome talent ....
Its still them ,😉👀🙏
Haelos deserve to be massive...
attack
pkg996 agreed . It's just that they come from multiple other band products, and i feel like they aren't active enough to be giant yet
P.s. I get your massive attack hint too hahahH
I agree
This band is absolutely amazing.
10 times over!
Found them here and then found out that they have a gig in my city in just a week. Bought a ticket and boy, it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Thanks Haelos and thanks KEXP!
4 years later, I still listening to that music band :)

I listen to this version more than their studio recording. It just sounds so amazingly amazing. :d
I too. And I write to KEXP, where I can buy this excellent live version, it`s on my studio amplifier and headphone the best.
I love how much passion they put into it. And her voice...it's one of the most beautiful I have ever heard. Thanks for the video!
I discovered this while browsing KEXP live shows (btw. big thanks! on your channel I found a number of great bands I haven't heard before) and I instantly fell in love with this sound. The way all the instruments are combined to form the final music, especially with 2 drums sets and a few members singing at the same time, in a delicate chorus. "Dust" is a song that made me speechless, with shivers down my spine when I closed my eyes. I found myself rocking to and fro to the rhythm and just enjoying the surrounding cloth of the music around me, so warm and nice, feeling like there's just me and the sound in the entire universe. I just had to share my thoughts here ;)
KEXP is the gift that keeps on giving. Production is not of this planet.
Ich komme aus Bischofsheim ( Germany)
KEXP haben die beste live Performance ever.
Ich komme auf jeden Fall mal nach Seattle um mir eine Live-Performance anzuschauen.
So absolut great
I never realized how phonetically similar German was to English.
This was a great performance. How lucky are we to share together?
Haelos .. amazing music.. you guys are awesome. Keep chasing your dream.
Just heard about these guys tonight. Wow, I love this, definitely getting the album.
this is perfect. I love when a band sounds better live then studio record :) love tis band
What is wrong with this world? Why is this god like, universal, band not blown up by popularity and fandom? It's like the universe and the consciousness is speaking through their music and the words in the songs are just, unreal.... Alan Wats speaking in the beginning shows just how indeed non-dual this band really is... I've discovered them just now, and they are all I'm listening to at the moment.... I guess this type of music truly comes to your being when you are ready... Guess the world is not yet ready for this type of vibration, this unbound and unearthly art of music... Thank you for existing and bringing such talent and energy into this world🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 this is a type of band that you don't hear with your ears but you Devour with your Soul🙏🙏🙏🤍🤍🤍🤍☀️💙 and thank you KEXP for inviting such extraordinary bands. Came here for GEMS, stayed and discovered HAELOS... thank you 🙏

I cannot help to keep coming back to this
I listening to this once a year at least. Can't get bored of it even if it's pop-ish, it's a remarkable performance. I can agree with Cheryl, amazing.
I love how the drummer focuses on his performance at 5:57 and starts the next song without letting the interviewer finish.
