    Enjoyed this, really nice photos. I have the same set up, R6 ii and the RF 100-500. Love it. Gets some great photos. Just for your info I have the Nitehawk pop up chair hide. £70 from Amazon. I love finding a quiet spot, making a bit of a set up, and waiting for birds, squirrels, Foxes and any other wildlife to pop by. It’s small but enough room for yourself, your bag, tripod and it has a comfortable little chair with a holder for your flask. I sprayed mine with Nikwax Tent & Gear Solarproof Spray, a 500ml bottle is about £10. It’s enough for quite a few coats but I gave mine just two after watching a RUclips video. I’ve been in some right downpours and I sit there dry without a care in the world. The only thing is, you don’t get the exercise you normally get from walking around but if that’s not a problem then you can get really close to birds. I sit just a few of metres away.
    Just some food for thought.
    I love your enthusiasm and love of nature, it’s nice to see. Take it easy.

      Thanks Frank! I’ve thought about getting a pop up hide before and might do it someday, ideally I’d want to leave it up somewhere for the wildlife to get used to. If you just put it up for the day how long do you usually wait before the wildlife comes close?

      @@wildlifewitholly Depends what you’re going for Olly. Small birds are quite easy. But I tend to do a bit of reconnaissance. For instance I heard about a Fox in my local woods so I found a small pond where I thought it must come to drink. It took quite a few days for it to arrive so obviously it was finding water in other places too. But I got some nice photos in the end, one got featured by Canon on their social media. Doing your homework helps like in your Owl video, but you still need that touch of luck from Mother Nature I think.

      @@FrankH-sz1ln Nice, if I can find a private spot somewhere especially for badgers then I'd love to set a hide up one day but just need to get that location first!

    Glad i found your channel. Interested to know if youve tried the R5 and how the photo image quality compares. I go back and forth with higher MPs or better AF

    • @wildlifewitholly
      @wildlifewitholly  Год назад

      Thanks Adam, it’s actually the R6 mkii im using but still slightly higher MP and the better ISO performance and autofocus is what wins it for me!

      @adamwhittingham86 Год назад

      @@wildlifewitholly sorry for confusion. I know it is. But just wondered if you had used the R5 at all. It's usually much preferred for its high megapixel with wildlife. But the R6ii has better AF and faster etc.
