Awesome! The hunt is the instinct that you felt. Just like the hunters that control the population. It is human, but the difference is that you hunt to record them and they hunt to control them. You both have an important roll. I have been on both sides. Keep up the great work!
@@wildlifewitholly I made the transition to the camera after my freezer quit on me with about 300 lbs of deer in it. I felt like that I really wasted that and I lost the desire to hunt for meat, but I still love to hunt and see the animals. My Canon is the tool that I use anymore!
WOW! Amazing footage and photos! The little ones were so cute, and just to see the family was something I never expected to see! I hope that the powers that be make the best decision for these important animals. And the little vole photo was perfect! The little deer at the end was really special too. Thank you for taking us along on your journey. You made my day, Thank you.
This has to be your best ever video so far Olly, so enjoyed watching this and congratulations getting to see those wild boar, loved those images of them, we'll done 👍
Thanks Raymond, glad you enjoyed it so much and great to hear it was one of your favourites! I’m keen to start adding more educational info and storylines to my videos.
Thanks mate! Haha I was buzzing, the hours and km I put in on my previous two trips without any luck made it extra special! Yeah let me know when you’re going :)
Thanks! Very tough to find but every trip I’ve had has ended up with more success than the last so hopefully next time I can see even more. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the sub, have done the same with your channel 👍
Hi! Very interesting video. I just recently found your channel and am making my way through all your videos. I have a question that you may or may not be able to answer. If the wild boar had been hunted to extinction but are now thriving in that location enough to warrant reducing population size, why don't they try relocating some animals to other woodlands to help the overall population and health of the uk ecosystems instead of killing them? Where I'm from, we have to manage our deer populations, but they've never been hunted to extinction before. There's literally so many that it's not good for the environment or their own population health. Since we have so few predators now, we have to fill that role. It seemed your boar situation was very different, so I was just curious. Anyway, I hope you have more luck in future. Cheers from Maine, USA. :) Paula
Hi, thank you for the comment. It’s a complicated topic as a lot of people wouldn’t be happy with them in their local area as they dig up lawns etc. and a lot of people also believe they’re a threat to safety, 99% of the time they’ll avoid conflict with people but on the rare occasion they feel threatened there are reports of charges particularly when dogs are involved. I think it’s something we should learn to live with but in the U.K we’ve been absent of any dangerous wildlife for so long that it’s hard to shift those perceptions. Groundbreakers is a really good book which goes into depth on the topic if you’re interested! Thanks! :)
Searching for R6 Mark II I found your channel, I really enjoy your channel!! That las deer, I like the whitebalance in the video much more than on the photo you show. I just love those warm colours. What a pity that your instagram doesn't seem to work.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it :) ah that’s strange the Instagram link didn’t work for you, I had a go and it seemed okay but if you can’t find it still then just search Wildlife with Olly and it should come up :)
Love these videos olly, really well made and your enthusiasm is so infectious!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it and appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment :)

Thanks Jon! There are definitely parallels in enjoyment but I’ll never be swapping the camera for anything else 😅

Thank you Sue! I’m so glad you enjoyed it despite me not being able to share as much wildlife as I’d hoped to! The vole was a lovely surprise :)

Ah you were right! Apologies, I was checking the link in the video description but the one on my profile wasn’t working, I’ve updated it now!
Most wild pigs have a great sense of smell. Make sure you walk into the wind when possible.
I actually had a clip of me talking about that and forgot to include it haha, was doing that whenever I could but thank you for the tip :)
Great video. Can i ask what trail camera you used?
Thanks, it was the Ceyomur C60 trailcam, trigger response isn’t super quick but image quality and sound is awesome
