Great work Olly! Like you said, it’s the best time of the day first couple of hours from dawn. This time of year is my favourite time of year for seeing barn owls out hunting in the mornings too, currently gathering footage myself from my local area (Suffolk) for my upcoming vlog.
Shane you didn’t get to see the brown hares, but it will keep you motivated to keep going back out.
    Keep on keeping on!
    Best,
    Nick

Hey Nick, sorry I missed this comment! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for leaving a comment as well, will definitely look for brown hares again soon!

Great video Olly. Some lovely deer shots & the barn owl was awesome. I think Lynx reintroduction is a possibility. Not so with Wolves I doubt as much as I’d love to see it. Atb👍

Thanks! Agree wolves is unlikely and wouldn’t be fair on them or farmers to bring them back at the moment, a lot of change would be needed first but don’t think we’re far off being ready for lynx! 🤞🏼 thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video :)

Fantastic video mate - especially loved the Muntjac and Barn Owls - the photo at 17:58 is particularly special! 100% agree with lynx being reintroduced & I would love wolves (but think it would be harder sell) - fingers crossed people in this country see sense

Thanks mate! Agree wolves probably won’t ever happen sadly but I can see lynx coming back in the not too distant future 🤞🏼 that would be one epic video with nothing to show at the end of it 😅

A nice video Olly. Glad you captured the two Barn Owls .. You covered up well with the Gilly suit but I think head and hand coverings go a long way when shooting wildlife. Just my thoughts. I look forward to seeing your next outing. Good luck. Ted.

I have no problem with Muntjac footage because I don`t see them where I live. It took me years to see a wild Barn Owl but when you do even a distant encounter is really special. Thanks for this Olly, I always look forward your videos.

Thank you for sharing this terrific video. I especially love the white barn owl. The deer have such a keen sense of smell, I bet they know it’s you and they are safe.

Great to see this, Well-done on getting the Owls . I have just moved from Canon 7d Mk2s to the R6 mk2 and also the R7 , Would be great if you could do a video on you R6 mk2 settings , I also have the 300mm F2.8 and the 100-400mm , i might look at getting the 100-500 RF lens to replace the 100-400 , Just got to work out setting up the R6 now before i get out into the West Oxfordshire countryside, I tended to stick to Aviation Photography with livivng next to RAF Brize Norton ,But want to try more on the wildlife side of my hobbies. Keep up the great vlogs

Thanks Mark! I’ve been struggling to get out much this spring so my next videos will mostly be about me searching for wildlife rather than too much technical stuff but if I have the time then I might do one on settings or at least touch on them
a bit more in my usual videos!

@wildlifewitholly Thanks for the reply Olly , Been a expensive weekend or so with me replacing the 2 7Ds with R7 and R6Mkii, I traded in my 300mm prime for the 100-500 RF lens yesterday also .

Thank you! I find the 300mm crops in so well so you don’t always have to be as close as the final image suggests!

Wonderful video Olly, love those beautiful Barn Owl images, wow well done and well spotted too 👏. So agree with what you said about the Muntjac getting such a hard time, so well spoken and so very true. Thanks for another awesome video and as always looking forward to your next new one, have a great week 👍

Try not to go in the fields they are hunting in as you will disturb the food they need. We have had a recent incident of photographers doing this and made the barn owl starve to death.

    • @wildlifewitholly
      @wildlifewitholly  3 месяца назад +1

Thanks, I always stick to footpaths and if I notice their behaviour change then I would move on. I also never share locations so I’m lucky that these areas are always very quiet and there’s very little disturbance. Appreciate what you’re saying though and I always put the wildlife first
