As requested, translation of the questions to Floor:
Q: It's a completely different world than the quartet isn't it?
Floor answers: Yes, but somewhere we meet in the classical arrangements in our music. It's heavy guitars, double bass, but I sing both pop and opera and our music contains a lot of classical arrangements. And therefore it was kind of a logical step to the Red Limo String Quartet.
Q: And it's not being amplified, that must be different for you.
Floor answers: Yes and no. I have done many different things, also outside of After Forever. Singing acousticly is not unfamiliar to me. But this setting is different, and the fun part is that you can add some nuances.

I am a Dutch GP and have lived and worked in North Wales for 25 years. I discovered Floor Jansen in 2018, when I saw a video of Elan by Night Wish. I was impressed by her voice and it took me on a voyage of exploring symphonic metal, including After Forever. Their song Energize Me with Floor singing was brilliant. Floor's powerful and expressive vocals with their impressive range have added so much to Night Wish's concerts.
This acoustic version of Energize Me by Floor and the Red Limo String Quartet was a pleasant surprise. It dates from before her Night Wish period. Floor's singing is of the stars, but when she speaks you can hear her lovely Brabant's accent. It tells you where she is from, the girl from Tilburg who became a singer of world renown.
Love her gesture, taking a few steps back with the rest of the musicians. You cannot rehearse that. It’s her natural way of acting in the world.
Beautiful vocals. My favourite Nightwish singer, not just for her vocals, but for the way the band performs with her. Love it.

Endless Floors most beautiful
As a Dutchmen I saw After Forever in a small venue round 2003, in Apeldoorn. Great band, great singer. Years after that Floor joined Nightwish and became one of Hollands best known singers, abroad. If not the best. And watching this, end of 2023, I think, it's not more than logical that Floor had the career that she's having now. And what she said, I sing pop and opera (and metal of course, the music I love), so true. Versatile, you can say that.

There are no words to describe how incredibly wonderful Floor Jansen is. The best singer of all time in the entire Universe. Each phase of your career is Brilliant and this Public, I think it was the coolest I've ever seen, what a demonstration of affection and Love. Thank you for this beautiful record.

"Energize Me" was the first After Forever song I ever heard, back when Anette Olzon was still fronting Nightwish. Watching _this_ version now, after the world's gone (rightfully) Floor-crazy, I was a little hesitant about that pick for a mic-less song in front of a bunch of old people, especially knowing about the high note at the end (she only went for the first one, not surprising). It must have been really nerve-wracking! But she pulled it off!

That's called: having the right singing technique. Using your diaphragm for voice projection. Nothing to do with classical or opera singing

Actually, most people in Netherlands didn't know her until Beste Zangers show was broadcasted on TV in 2019.
@@cancelled_user Most people didn't know what symphonic metal was until Floor joined Beste zangers. Dutch bands like Within Temptation, Epica, and Delain suffered from the same fate. At one point Within Temptation was the biggest band in the Netherlands without anyone in the Netherlands recognising their name. I heard they have bands like Nightwish on the radio in other countries, not here. We are basically stuck with 3 radio options. Pop, 80 rock and classic.

Look at Epica. It was founded by Mark Jansen who was the guitarist in After Forever. Epica pretty much continued the sound of After Forever.
@@treintje1001 oh, I listen to Epica pretty much since their beginning. I totally agree Epica took after what AF was doing. Although I like Simone, I wonder how their songs would sound with Floor. It's true both sung together for Mayan already
@@ferrenberg They would probably not sound very different, since the voices of Simone and Floor are quite similar, and they both use the same vocal styles en techniques. If you want to know how it sounds then check out Sancta Terra from their 10th anniversary show where they perform together, although I'm sure you already know that one :-). There you can hear how much their voices are alike. However I have to say I agree with you to the degree that I am sad that the old AF songs are not performed live anymore.

I was wishing to see something new from her, and maybe this song isn't but I love this performance!
I'm not shocked by anything she did, is doing or will do in the future. This is the world's greatest singer. She hasn't sold out to mainstream commercial industries. She has convictions, values and she knows that she is as good as she is. She hasn't the need for American BS radio, tv or the time to be around amateur singers like Adele, Beyonce, Ariella Grande, Lady Gaga or whatever other trash that's being force fed to the masses. Everyone of those mentioned would be blown off the stage if they were to have a competition with Floor. She would eat them up and spit them out. Floor is a true Queen with grace, morals, and self respect. She doesn't need to dress like a whore in underwear and bra's and strut around stage like a prostitute. She is all real, nothing fake, all natural.
