28 Day Challenge- A fire every day!
Well what a beautiful day to get out a make a fire! A lull in the blizzard gave me the chance to cook up a campfire classic- Beans and Wienies! Plus, I whoop up some amazing snow ice cream- you won't believe how good it is! You gotta try it!
Although you might not think this kind of weather is good campfire weather, once you dress properly and get out in it it's wonderful! A nice shelter helps!
Get outside and get happy. Less news. More fire!
SNOW ICE CREAM
1 can evaporated milk
2 eggs,
3/4 cup sugar
2.5 teaspoons pure vanilla
hot cocoa packet (for chocolate flavor)
Whisk first 4 ingredients until thoroughly blended in a large bowl. With another bowl, harvest some fresh, fluffy snow. Slowly fold in snow to base mix, adding snow to desired consistency. Add hot cocoa powder to make chocolate. Keep covered in freezer. ENJOY!

I love it that you give God praise in your day. I'm a Christian and it's intimidating to say grace in public but it's worth it.
When we used to sit around a campfire...there was this saying that said... smoke follows beauty lol. Don't know where that came from but we loved it lol. Brooke you are beautiful inside and out 😊

This Girl is On Fire!!!
Campfire beans , and weenies ; served up mit a cornbread muffin...Whaaat? Talk about good! (Cornbread goes good with Chili (carne, or vegetarian no matter, ) with lot's of hot sauce too! ) Comfort food is Yummy! Snowy ice cream in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather? .After hot vittles, & hot coffee? Yeah sure , why not? (Can't go wrong with sugar, vanilla, eggs, ....and...snow.....and chocolate!) Yeah good!
P.s. Three things: When Mary Oliver uses poetic license to tell of our outdoor adventures ; you can picture the sparrow lighting on the ducks back, the gull scratching his belly as he passes overhead, and she makes it easy to see the world from the viewpoint of a beetle. It all shows what a great writer she really was, cool man. You're so cute Girl in the Woods, haha, you really are .And....drum ..roll please..last , but not least: Long live DA WOOF! Lol.
Hey Brooke! Nicely done! I love your youthful exuberance with regards to all of the seasons. Where did people get away from enjoying all of the seasons? I can remember as a kid, when my parents would take my two sisters, brother and I out for winter picnics. Usually involved sledding or ice-skating and then hot chocolate around a campfire. Really enjoying your twenty-eight day challenge. Keep on going Brooke

The gourmet "girl in the woods" with special bean sauce and the wieners I could smell the aroma, and to top it all ice cream in the forest, you can't beat this. And the beautiful sound of day 12 the snow was absolutely lovely. You have such a faithful companion and she adores her master the snow resting on her velvety back is so soft looking. Snow Cream!!!! Use to have that all the time when I was young but haven't had any in years and thanks for the recipe I had forgotten how it was made.you are so right about familiar foods being comforting see you tomarrow.

I love the snow ice cream. I guessed it as you were putting in the eggs. Love the boots on Mazie. I remember growing up in Nebr. when we got 44 inches of snow in one blizzard. It closed about everything around for miles for about a week. Loved it as a kid because we did not have school that week.

I'm so glad I signed up a to your channel a few weeks ago. You do bring back memories from when I was 50years younger. One day in December it snowed and the wind blew a snow drift upon the school house. Well they canceled school,but the funny thing is just about all the kids in this small Kansas town was on top of the school with their Sleds. Snow ice cream is still on the list for my kids and grandchildren. Thank you Brooke for your love of my savior Shalom

In the South when it snows we always make snow ice cream. My mom made it every single time it snowed. Makes me think of my wonderful childhood memories. It tastes so good too!
Thank you Brooke for bringing back a childhood memory, snow ice cream! My Mom did that a couple of times when I was very young and we lived in the UP. That really takes me back.

Well i have to say i'm getting a lot of inspiration for fun stuff to do with my daughter from you films. Snow ice cream!! seriously? That's so insane its positively genius. I'd love to say me and my daughter will try that at the weekend, but . . . . . . it would require an 8 hour drive and a small hike up a mountain somewhere in the highlands. cos alas the snow has gone, and it doesn't look like its returning this year, at least not in the south. But that is officially on the list of daddy/daughter day things to do.

Lol every time I see Mazy I think of a GF's dog like that. Was named Molly but got called fuzzy butt by me. They have so much fur. Molly had it tough because they also had a cat that refused to be herded. She did not like Texas Summer also. Helped shave her one summer so she could go outside more often she also had a small wading pool to make it more bearable.
