28 Day Fire Challenge
Hey guys! A new recipe idea here for a twist on traditional pancakes! Thanks to Mike, a subscriber, for the idea here that I tweaked a bit. CORN PANCAKES! Make this unique and very tasty breakfast and douse it with maple syrup... add pan-seared weenies, and WA-LA! Yummy campfire breakfast! Some of the best campfire recipes come from experimenting, and just playing with your options. Just get a fire going and go for it!
Get outside and get happy!

Corn Pancakes:
Mix 2 to 1:
Jiffy Corn muffin mix to instant pancake mix. Add creamed corn to taste. Add water to desired consistency. Proceed as with normal pancakes.

It's so nice to see a campfire starting from scratch. A cold patch of snow becoming something beautiful, useful and comforting.

I love the muted sounds of the forest when it is covered in snow. So peaceful. I am going to miss the daily fire challenges!
Omg. Those look amazing. I have all of the ingredients to make this... Except your homemade syrup. You have been killing these videos. Is it weird that I have come to love the sound of your coffee dripping into your coffee mug? I don't even drink coffee!

That was like a deconstructed breakfast corn dog! I especially liked the birch bark dispenser tree. Only 2 more fires left!!!

I would go with half sweet with the maple and the other with bacon and warm Trident sweet chilli sauce.

oh i had this problem a couple weeks ago i wish i had just a little bit of pancake mix and it would have been solved. now i have both on hand and if one starts to get low its a national emergency and off to the store i go. thank Brooke and thanks Mike for bringing up this recipe.

"Smells like the fair". I cherish the smell and the wonderful Midwestern county fairs. We don't have fairs like that in my neck of the woods anymore. Spent summers in NW Ohio as a child. Yah.. the smell of those fairs and fair food!

Nice video as always. I usually add 2 or 3 types of grains to pancake mix to increase fibre content and make it more healthy. A few frozen blueberries or strawberries improves the taste......best pancakes in town at my house :)

Those "Corn Cakes" look really good! I'm going to try adding both corn meal and creamed corn to the cornbread/pancake mixes. Yum! Maybe butter 'n local honey to top it off ... great idea, Brooke :) Thanks for sharing ... God Bless

That looked yummy! I made an oyster omelette this morning with celery, onions,garlic and green peppers. I ate it but I don't think I'll make it again. I love oysters and wasn't bad but once was enough :) Maybe I'll try some of these pancakes tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!!
I love oysters too, but an oyster omelet is a little out there. Glad to hear the review though. Oyster stew on a rainy day, yes. Lots of pepper. I like corn as much as Brooke does. I was raised on corn. Sometimes I can do creamed corn and sometimes I can't. Canned veggies are funny; I love canned asparagus(althought, I like campfire better), I can tolerate green beens and of course corn. But, canned peas, no way(we had big dinner time fights). If a case washed up on the desert island, I'd push them back out.

Just two more days of daily fires to go! Its been a journey.... While I was watching the quiet part at the beginning of this video, I was reflecting back over my February. It's been an interesting month. There's been many good things, a few bad, and also some very sad. There definitely have been a lot of things that have happened during this shortest month of the year! Thanks for being inspiring, and thanks for putting in the big effort of pull this daily fire video project off! I know that it was a big time and effort commitment!

I do 3 parts pancake mix to one part Jiffy. I think they hold together better that way. Tasty!
I have had two Hawk encounters that were cool. One while I was riding my motorcycle, you wouldn't believe it unless it happened to you, but it came down towards my handlebar like in slow motion, I was going about 60mph, I was calm , Its like it saw crome or my black gloves, guess it wasn't what it thought so pulled back. I was amazed.
One when I went to sit under a tree by the state Capital, a hawk brushed my hair then flew across the highway! I love Hawks:)

I make corn fritters. It's Bisquick and regular corn. I think the recipe came from Bisquick. You make it kinda thick because your dropping tablespoon into a pot of hot grease. Like deep frying the corn fritter balls. I've always eaten them with maple syrup, it's so good!. Thanks for reminding me of them. My kids are grown adults with their families and I live alone now so I don't cook a lot anymore. You've got me thinking it's time to heat up the skillets again and cook little things I like. Your giving me good ideas of small meals just for me. Thank You! ☺♥️
