Just discovered the channel and enjoying the 28-day challenge! I'm always on the lookout for good food ideas. The people I camp with mostly (Boy Scouts) have two objectives: 1) something ... anything, and 2) as fast as possible - don't waste time cooking. To me the beauty of the 28-day challenge is taking time. Thanks for the boost.

Oh, my! Back when I'd get home from a Boy Scout camp out, the scent of the campfire on all my gear was SO strong! Great memories. And the poetry fits. I'd like to finish life knowing I made the most of it, eh? Thanks for sharing :) God Bless

You got me with that comment "I love the smell of my clothes when I've been around a campfire". I know that! I used to hide a few of my clothes after camping for 3 weeks every summer with my family as a child, just so I could smell them. That pig in a blanket done over fire, wow. Yum. I could taste it from here, and almost 2 years later!
Another beautiful day in my neck of the woods. Sadly no fire, sat next to big white oak, watched puffy clouds with Roxie🐶 so very relaxing❤❤. ✌💙🐶

Brooke, you are delightful and exactly we need here in the winter doldrums. My fire was in the fireplace again tonite but we spent the day visiting our horse in the University of Georgia veterinary hospital where she is recovering from pneumonia - the doctors and students are so skilled and compassionate, I’d encourage anyone whose fur baby us in a predicament to visit their closest teaching hospital. Off topic, but maybe it’s news someone can use. Definitely made me get outside and get happy!

My 6 year old nephew is loving your channel. We watch 1 episode a night on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He’s having a camp out in his back yard tomorrow and asked his papa to make him some of the hot dogs like girl in the woods. Lol. And he also wants you to know he thinks you’re so funny. I'm looking forward to camping out of my Van again. I do go in winter with a electric heater, but I prefer Summer for camping more than any other time. Fire looks great:)

Looked sooo good. Tried pigs in a blanket tonight in Hawaii (71 degrees) and the dough melted off the hotdogs. Ended up baking them in the house in our oven. Think the weather has to be, at the warmest, 65 degrees for the dough to stick to the hotdogs.
I just watched your day 2 and 3 videos back to back. Thanks for explaining how you check the wood for moisture. I have gotten my share of strange looks doing this, but it works. I'll show my wife how you made that sausage wrap. I think she will want to try that next time we do a campfire. Thanks.

Love your Fire A Day series! I am watching them backward! Lol any who ... this reminded me of the camp out with one of your friends where you had the Johnsonville jalapeños cheddar hot dogs wrapped in the Crescent Dough and wrapped them up over the fire. I ran out and tried those and they were fantastic! I’m a dipper and ketchup dips put them over the top. Thanks for all you do for us!

I had a women tell me in the store that I smelled amazing when I walked by her...I said it was smoke from my fire...LOL!!! That is my only source of heat in my cabin. I'm so use to it :)
I'll take a campfire over any ballgame any day! I too love the smell of a campfire. The dogs & I went for a car camp last night & we & the car all smell like the campfire & I love it!
My fire today was getting the furnace lit! Hahaha hope to have a real fire ! I too have a belching collie! Shes a black and white 3 year old border collie named Piper
My Dad had a solid white border collie named Winnie for 12 years. He still has her as his background on his smart phone. He says she is the app manager lol i thought that was nice
