Not a word said. Only a few people can pull that off. You keep us on the edge wondering, what is she gonna do next.? Loved the drumming and the sounds of the woods in a snowstorm. Thanks again Brooke.
Brooke...Mazie looked like "now mom....r u 4 REAL!" HILARIOUS! Both of you have delightful personalities! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! I love them!!
I recieved my first ferro rod in the mail the day before yesterday. Yesterday I started my first fire ever from a rod and gathered fire material! It took me an hour and a half to get it right, but I got it! I didn't quit! Thanks for you inspiration and instruction. You rock!
Woods are so peaceful during a snow fall, I like looking for tracks the day after a snowfall, Sometimes that is the only way to know what has been sneaking around
Built a fire in the snow today just to see if I could. lol, I used a lighter but gathered the starter and material; from our own trees that we planted about 15 years ago. Thanks Brooke
I’m a music teacher, and that’s great creative musical expression girl! You are simply amazing. I can watch you everyday and never get tired of watching what you’ll do next.
I SO LOVE your creative spirit.. making music with tee logs in the middle of dead winter, getting a fire ready... you truly inspire me! Thank you for sharing your many gifts and incredible knowledge of surviving in the woods! THANK YOU- namaste~
That was great. All the natural sounds of the woods in winter. Love d. The playful beat of the logs. I have done that. 😺💞 Glad you were all bundled up.
New sub catching up on past vids. This no-narrative format is entirely good for my soul. I’m saving this one for my devotional time and bedtime! And I adore winter so that’s a bonus. Thank you-thank you, Brooke. ❄️ 💗 🔥 🕊 ❄️
I love how you picked that spot right next to that downed tree and left the snow on it to act as a wind break. Excellent video. Thank you for sharing it with us.
You are showing everyone how a fire can be started in the snow and that is important for everyone to know. I know how to do it and everyone else should know also if they want to survive in a forest or on an island. I see that you have your constant companion with you and she is loving being there beside you as always.
Love the snow storm, the quiet, the echo, your log music. I notice that Maisie Daisy is in awe of you, and so proud. Me too! You blow me away 💫 Thank you!
An easy to assemble, and dissemble bow saw held in a pouch, and and a fire starting flint with steel; like totally 21st century, cool beans. Carrying the makings for fire wrapped up in a kerchief? Her Michigan grand mama taught her that I'll just betcha!.....Kid knows what she's doin for sure. P.s. Love Brooke girl's vids man.
Flashback to when I was a kid. Come back inside after playing in the snow til we were soaked. Had either chicken soup or Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich with either potted meat or deviled ham on it. Hot cocoa after. Drying the clothes over the grate for the oil furnace.
Another awesome video Brooke..the next time maisie shakes the snow off...get her to shake some in this direction, .we need some of that cool snow down here in australia...as long as it doesnt melt along the way. Also great beat with the wood...there is nothing like the sounds of nature...my brother and i are currently sitting at our campsite in Australia, listening to the cicadas singing about the heat...the wind blowing through the trees....the birds chorkelling as they collect their afternoon meal before roosting for the night and the bush flies buzzing by frantically.
Some of the best time I have spend. I love watching your vids. Keep them coming. Overnight trip in a storm would be awesome. Your dog is a treat to watch. Thanks.
Loved the drumming I had to laugh 😂, your videos are a joy to watch...... you seem like such a happy and content lady, ...... I’ll be happy to watch every one you put out! Have a great day😇😇😇
I had a 120 pound Staffordshire Terrier that loved the snow. Even in his elderly years (he lived to be 22.5 years old) he would bite the snow and stick his face down in it and run. The snow would be "flying" 5 feet in the air over his head. His mother (she lived to be 19.5 years old) was more like Maysie, she would sit or lay in the snow and didn't seem to care one way or the other about it.
Hi Brooke, no snowshoes this time? I laughed so hard when you were playing the natural wood instruments, reminded me of doing similar things over the years. It was so warm here today, from below zero to in the 30's was nice change and I wanted to get out and test my little gassifier stove, but got tied up helping someone all day and didn't feel like doing it in the dark, so maybe tomorrow. Rock On!
You are so cool. Our favorite outdoors instructor. You are also fearless and tough as heck, and we want to be like you. The collie you have with you, however, is very charming and has been stealing some of your scenes in this vlog and others.
Great video! I was thinking she is stirring the hot chocolate with a stick, I was in the army and have been to Asia, the Middle East, and Central and South America. There are plenty of worse things that I have put in my mouth!! HAHAHA!! OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH, you didn't forget the marshmallows!!! I like watching a video and learning something even if I already know it!!! Keep them coming!!!
I haven’t seen powdered snow like that since doing an military exercise with the Royal Canadians in Watertown , NY at Fort Drum.. one month doing ski patrols together and pup tents with double silk lined sleeping bags. No heaters at all in our tents. 2nd Recon Battalion USMC. -20 to -60 degrees while there. Six foot deep snow is dangerous if you fall and lose your skis or snowshoes. I was ready for coffee to after you did all that prepping Loved the music, wanted you to keep on going. I was enjoying it too.....lol
Love what you are about. You are a huge inspiration to women and a true educator. Thank you for all your videos and classes. I will definitely be joining you ladies next year. Wish I knew about Alaska trip sooner 😣...
Enjoyed a five mile hike with friends today, including two barefoot stream crossings... bit warmer here in Western NC, still have ice and snow on the ground at higher elevations, not like what you got. I’m hoping we get some more Snow, there’s something Soul healing, being out in the woods in snow. Thank you for sharing the harmonious and luminous properties of firewood, beautiful.
I worked in a logging camp when i was very young looked after the horse's and we cooked over an open fire every day it was great the food was simple pea soup and a sandwich but it was like the best cut of steak you bring back those days to me when i watch your videos thanks nice video
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful wintery experience- you and your dog. Just love it! In some ways, it reminds me of the times I've had with my dog.
Not a word said. Only a few people can pull that off. You keep us on the edge wondering, what is she gonna do next.? Loved the drumming and the sounds of the woods in a snowstorm. Thanks again Brooke.
Same thought here.
Brooke...Mazie looked like "now mom....r u 4 REAL!" HILARIOUS! Both of you have delightful personalities! Thank you for sharing your adventures with us! I love them!!
Definitely a skill though and a life saver, well done on lighting a fire! Should be taught in every school and college. Survival skills.
4 minutes 29 seconds in..... woman you make my heart happy!♡
The silence was almost poetic. Love all your videos, Brooke! Thanks for making them.
I love this no talking video, its so relaxing. ..just the sounds of nature. You must make more like this !!!
I recieved my first ferro rod in the mail the day before yesterday. Yesterday I started my first fire ever from a rod and gathered fire material! It took me an hour and a half to get it right, but I got it! I didn't quit! Thanks for you inspiration and instruction. You rock!
Nice musical playing with the logs. Just the sounds of nature - nice.
Awesome Brooke,, with all that wood knocking ,,turn around,, you've called in every Sasquatch in 50 miles.......lol...
You can't get a better friend than that dog... Stays with you even in the cold
Going out in the woods was so much fun with you today!!! That dog of yours is squishable!!!
lol thanks
love the drum solo! ------and I always love your narrrations, but it was cool to just have an "action-only" vid!
Pretty talented playing the musical logs. Good job getting that fire going.
Great job nothing like a good warm fire in the snow and a great cup coffee
Love the quiet video, different!
I really enjoy your joi de vivre, for example, that grin on your face as you explore firewood-as-percussion... living in the moment!
A warm fire and hot coffee lifts the spirits no matter how cold it is! The dog is a great companion too.
Woods are so peaceful during a snow fall, I like looking for tracks the day after a snowfall, Sometimes that is the only way to know what has been sneaking around
I too, have drummed on logs in my forest. How healing it is to be with fire and a dog in the woods. I need to do things your way. 💕
Built a fire in the snow today just to see if I could. lol, I used a lighter but gathered the starter and material; from our own trees that we planted about 15 years ago. Thanks Brooke

What a wonderful, peaceful video to watch as I’m going to bed. Thank you! I’m sure I’ll have peaceful dreams of being in the woods.
😂 such a pleasure to watch. and as a drummer ( among other things ), i approve the firewood rhythms interlude 😋
Be careful, the Sasquatch hunters will think that it’s a “tree knock” from a squatch. Lol
She knows and has no fear
So Not funny
Totally appreciate all the bow saw work, it makes you sleep well at night
I love how you picked that spot right next to that downed tree and left the snow on it to act as a wind break. Excellent video. Thank you for sharing it with us.
You got the music in you for sure
Beautiful lazy day around the fire and snow flakes galore.
Brooke I hope you and Bush radical are monitized. I like to think you two make a living doing what you love. Godspeed Brooke.
yes we are and Lord willing will continue to be able to keep doing what we love!
I would be afraid my dog would get pneumonia no tent or cover
Play the Bigfoot boogie. awww the simple pleasures, a good fire, a good dog, and a good woman.
...The Bigfoot Boogie..............HAHA!
Not always necessary for a lot of words to have a good time in the woods. Thanks Brooke
Cool wood drumming beautiful scenery
Good video, I be turning 67 in May.. I am more at home in the woods now then I was when I was younger. Good video
Your dog is beautiful and looks friendly

Wow! This is REALLY GOOD...impressed!
Thank you for the interlude. I miss snow.
You are correct, Brooke. There is NOTHING like a good campfire to relax a person and put the troubles of the day aside for a few hours!
Your drumming was exceptional.
Watched it with pleasure and discovered that I let my own fire going out. -20 here ... I should pay attention. Thanks for sharing,
Love the snow storm, the quiet, the echo, your log music.

The scenery is just breathtaking. Thanks for the info on how to start a fire in a snow storm.
that was a nice video. I loved you winter drum solo!!
all that stick banging is known to call in Sasquatches, may be even chupacabras too but i think the smell of coffee scars them back into the hills..
Or Martians. Lord.
