A couple of respectful hints from the cold Canadian north. Always think of keeping your clothing dry, in order to reduce your risk of hypothermia, When you start cutting down poles and branches, and find yourself growing warm, don't take off your wet outer coat and allow your dry inner jacket to become wet also. Take off the outer coat, remove your dry inner one, tuck it away in your pack, and put the wet one back on. That way you will have a dry coat to wear inside your shelter. When you are clearing the snow out of your shelter, don't kneel on the snow. Kneel on a few dry pine branches. That way, your pants will also be dry when you crawl into your shelter. Also don't use your mittens to clear the snow out of your shelter; instead, make a little broom out of pine twigs and use that to sweep out your shelter. That way, your mittens will also be warm and dry for the night. This may seem to be overkill until that night when it drops to forty below zero. In those circumstances, a dry coat, dry pants, and dry mittens may be what save you from hypothermia. Thanks for a beautiful video.
There is nothing so satisfying as watching the snow, and somebody making his shelter. Even though I am drinking tea and wrapped up in my bed, it makes me feel very comfy and warm.
I usually lay long decent size logs beside where I sleep. That way I can push them into and feed the fire without having to get up in the middle of the night. Totally works.
That was pretty cool. No pun intended. A lot of people (like me) would not have a clue, what to do in the woods. Especially, with snow. Thank you, for keeping the shelter simple.
All I could hear was wet snow, sleet, or freezing rain hitting the ground. And I know that those are terrible conditions to be in, yet there is something so relaxing in seeing you enjoying yourself in a primitive environment. When we are miserable and cold and hungry, the fire feels great, the food is gourmet and most of life’s worries are forgotten. I’m envious, and hoping to get out soon myself.

Everyone who went through Scouting in the Sixties received intensive and valuable bushcraft and survival training. We were taught to recognize animals by their scat and spoor and how to trap them for food. We went on night compass marches and built 3 rope bridges across mountain streams. That feeling when you get to sit in front of the fire, start warming up, and just embrace the natural environment surrounding you, and the silence it provides. It shuts up negativity. You sure can get a lot of beauty with just a little bit of simple gear. Great video.
Thanks so much Dwayne. You nailed it. Simple and a great trip in the nature.
30yds behind mummy's house I rekin. What a hero! 👉😀😆😄🤣
It's ok if you aren't cut out of this type of activity. No need to belittle us that can do it. Cheers mate.
May I suggest adding a wall around the fire to direct it's heat 🤷, nice video btw 🔥
Thanks for the tip
You should've added branches on the ground for insulation for the ground, the mat you put on the ground won't protect much especially if you're going to keep the other side totally exposed
You right good call I forgot all about it. Cheers
I'm praying for everyone who needs a Miracle. Only God can do the impossible, He can make a way when there seems to be no way. I pray God touches your health, your home, your family, your faith, and your finances

i live in a tropical country so i never get to experience snow but for some reason i find camping in a snow or while raining so relaxing and i want to do it someday.
Oh yes it's relaxing. It's a lot different than rain. lol
اي والله حبيبي الغالي ارتاح حيل
If you get to choose, go for the snow. You can turn snow into water, but you can't turn water into snow. Not in the forest anyway.
You advertised a snow storm. I can't see anything but wet snow falling. Thank you from Oslo.
Hey Josh! What a great tour and really great content. Fantastic Bushcraft-Weather 😍
Thanks so much.
