    Hey, just stumbled upon your channel, amazing work! I think it turned out quite good!
    I was wodering tho, since you work with pencil in a sketchbook, doesn't the graphite smudge when you close the sketchbook? Doesn't it bleed?

      welcome!
      a little bit! but it’s not too bad - the elastic keeps the book closed and everything in place. if I have a drawing that’s got a lot graphite I might use a layer or two of fixities to keep things in place 👍

    silly question, but do you use different types of pencils for the sketch or just stick with one? (like different HB graphite pencils)

    • @katiemaeveart
      @katiemaeveart  20 часов назад +1

      I just stick with the one because the blackwing pencils are pretty versatile! if I was using a pencil set I would normally go with a 2b - maybe a h for the initial sketch and a higher grade like 4b for the super darks. you can do a lot with pressure though 😄

    I think your lady is more believably human than the original. Fair play to Ingres though - his textiles are astonishing. I do have a suggestion for another study actually, which might tempt you. That's Augustus John's portrait of Wyndham Lewis (an etching), and there's a good image on Christie's website. Many thanks for another fascinating video.

      thankyou! and thanks for the suggestion I’ll take a look. I love etchings but have never tried a study of one 😄

      désolée! I’m sure the autogenerated captions struggle to keep up with my blathering. I’ll into some better captioning options than the built in ones by YT 👍
