    I'm a car nut and have owned a variety of vehicles, including Chevys and Toyotas. I just bought a 2009 Ford F-150 King Ranch. I love the look and feel of the older trucks vs the plasticy newer ones. When I bought it, it had the common exhaust manifold leak, which I fixed. It's been running great ever since. If you can afford it, my advice is to buy an older F-150, fix the known issues, and call it a day. You'll have a beautiful truck and no car payment.

    I have a 2010 F150 supercrew 4x4 with 202000 miles. It has been almost flawless probably 4,000 dollars in maintenance from 2010-2024. I’m still driving truck. Brakes, 1 spark plug coil.1 battery, oil changes.

    97 ford f150 xlt sidestep 5.4 2v. The original engine had a fist size hole in the block. So i bought another vehicle with a 5.4 triton for 500. It was a 98 expedition. Only drove in reverse. Rebuilt that engine for my truck. Starting at 157,400 miles. Now im 198,000+.
    I dont understand how people can bash the 5.4.

    How are you Zach?Good I hope!I have that Modular 5.4 and the mechanic showed me just how bad those plugs can get.He gave me three of the plugs back and they had blown out-this is a 2012 Expedition and I have one window regulator that has gone out.Not many miles only 128,000 miles on it but my repair had more to do with age and maintenance because the truck mostly gets driven on the highway .I will let you know on how it does because my goal is to get 75,000 thousand more miles to reach my goal on the truck.

    250k original miles my 2011 Expedition and still runs like new with few issues. Always run full synthetic and change 5-6k miles. I think after 2009 these motors were more bulletproof with the updates they received to fix those known issues.

    You really glossed over how awful the 3.5L V6 is. I’m a Ford guy and I own an F-150. I hate the 3.5L Ecoboost and consider it one of the worst truck engines ever. If you’re getting an F-150, I would avoid anything that isn’t the 5.0L V8. I actively avoided the 3.5L Ecoboost like the plague. The timing chain likes to go and the turbos break among other issues. These repairs cost thousands

    I can’t agree with your assessment of the 10th gen f150, Mine spontaneously combusted in my driveway at 4am. I thank God I didn’t park it in my garage that night. Same thing happened to several others, according to a story on NBC news.

    • @8020Media
      @8020Media  3 месяца назад

      Sorry to hear that; that's certainly a scary and unfortunate situation. We haven't heard of that being a major or common thing on the 10th gen, but understand how that would quickly change ones opinion for the worse.

      Every year I get close to buying a truck then I talk myself out of it. Think the reason is now it’s much more complicated to diagnose it by yourself and to expensive to take it in.

      @@8020Mediabesides the brand new ones that are turbo charged, the Tacoma, T-100 and Tundra are proven and by far, the most reliable pick up trucks out there. With regular maintenance they will break 300K to 400k or even more with their original transmission and engine. I think I made I mistake buying a Ford.
