I think an overlooked thing about the 10th gen is that it was the first 4 door half ton on the market and helped start the luxury pick up truck craze with the King Ranch in 2001. My family had a 2001 Supercrew 4x4 5.4 and we had put 240,000 miles for 15 years with no issues other than a few easy parts swaps. Only reason we got rid of it is because I got rear ended and it totaled the truck.

I have 4r100 trans and it bucks from 1st to 2nd, but thats about it. Still passes smog! Original starter, water pump, iac, egr valve, solenoids, only 3 battery swaps 2 alternator swaps. The 4r100 trans is acting up but possibly only a sensor going out. One fuel pump change, spark plugs changed only twice, coils replaced only once, og injectors, original hoses except two of them. Its all about taking care of what you love! I use as many motorcraft parts as possible, that does make a huge difference.

Love the video, I really enjoy this tier format. I did want to add that while I of course respect y'alls opinions, I feel like the double F for the 10th gen was unwarranted. Yes, the body style can be a bit of an acquired taste, but really the only issue that y'all mentioned was the spark plugs ejecting, which is easily remedied by using the updated torque specs. Aside from that, the 2 valve versions of both the 4.6 and 5.4 have great reputations for reliability (totally different story for the 3 valve versions, but those didn't come out till the 11th gen). Anyway, great job on the video, keep up the great work.

92-96/97 fords. I’ve had Three of em and loved em all. I’m a dodge guy at heart but it’s hard to beat the “classy” feel of a nice ford. I had a 96 f250 power stroke. Hated the gear ratio but loved it when I wasn’t pulling a trailer. Had a 94 1/2 ton 5.0 five speed 4x4. Loved that truck. Couldn’t kill that truck. I now have a 95 1/2 ton 5.8l 4x4. Hard to kill these trucks.

1999 5.42v here. Bought it for 1500 dollars with 140k on it. Lifted it on 33s fixed the air conditioning and it gets me to work everyday now with 171k on it. Father in law had 02 f250 with the 5.4 with almost 300k on it before totaled and hauled with it everyday. If you don't need all the flash of the new trucks and dont care about fuel economy this is a bulletproof truck to get.
