Never stop making music like this, even when there's no more risk of rain. Getting straight up Rudess and Petrucci vibes whole time. There's gotta be some influence there. Would love to see some more behind the scenes on this one.
If I had to guess, this is how all the songs are going to show up ingame: It Can’t Rain All The Time - stage theme A Tempestuous Noise of Thunder and Lightning Heard - boss theme I Should Build the Man a Statue - boss theme Yane No Mori- stage theme Forgot The Cry Of Gulls -boss theme Om Mani Padme Hum, part 3- stage theme Om Mani Padme Hum, Part 1 and 2 - False Son’s 1st and 2nd fight Tlālōcān - False Son’s 3rd phase/fight Om Mani Padme Hum, part 1 was used in the announcement trailer for SotS, so I presume it would be False Son’s boss theme (and a comment Chris left on the OMPH2 video says that the 3 songs are not part of one song, meaning that they are used in different boss fights/ places). Listening to OMPH3, makes me think it’s a stage theme and not boss theme because of how chill it is, also there are way too many boss sounding themes in the SotS OST already, so it kinda has to be a stage theme. I only think Tlālōcān is the final boss/phase theme because it uses DFR and we can’t have a final boss theme without DFR in it.
Ok, coming back to this, listened to "So Below" by Lena Raine, and.. idk if anyone else is hearing this, but.. just listen to the song and you'll hear about 1:30 into it, sounds pretty similar. Just a little realization, definitely a coincidence, though.
Hope Gearbox treats you well Chris, you are like the one thing that made this DLC somewhat worth it, wouldn't want the goat be shat on by Greasebox of all things.
Hi, Chris! I hope this reaches you, because I don't know where else to say this. The switch version of Risk of Rain 2 has an issue currently where most sound effects in-game cause the music to stop. Since I have no way to reach the devs directly, I thought I would tell you, the creator of the music in question. This is particularly upsetting to me because the music is my favorite part of this game, and just my favorite OST I've heard in any game, as well. Also, great song! Love the synth (guitar? I dunno) solo.
Thanks for the kind words! As for the issue, I completely sympathise with your frustration. I'm sure the support team is already aware but in any case the best way to report it is via Steam support or the game's Discord. Unfortunately, console updates always take longer than desktop because the new build verification process is longer.
@@AstronautDownHi again! Unfortunately I don't have a steam account or Discord, so I cannot report in conventionally. As for the Console wait time, I don't mind too much. It's also worth mentioning that if the sounds are off I can still hear the music, so for now I can still hear it at least. Thanks for your time! Look forward to whatever it is you make next!
The time signature here is really weird. In essence its 7/8 for the most part, then at 0:27 they throw in an extra beat for good luck and briefly switch to structuring the motif as alternating 8/8 and 6/8, very reminiscent of I should build the man a statue's time signature in its first half. Then after only a few bars of that it switches back to 7/8 structure, then at 2:38 the structure now becomes alternating 9/8 and 5/8, does this for like 8 bars except the last 5/8 is extended by 2 more beats to set it back to 7/8 for all of 8 bars except they throw a 5/8 in before the drop to make up for the 2 randomly added earlier. Then after this its 9/8 5/8 again for most of the rest of the song. Chris what the fuck lmao what were you cooking. Whatever it is you are cooking it tastes fucking delicious.
Upon relisted there is an extra note thrown in at the end of the 8/8 6/8 which combined with the earlier random note, is completed when the 9/8/ 5/8 starts because it actually starts with a bonus 5/8 bar which totals off to the overall 7/8. so, realistically you *COULD* call the whole thing 7/8 and call it a day, but it is clearly structured otherwise
@explodingpineapple6459 The piece is all 7/8, or rather 7/4 since it's quite slow. All the interruptions of the meter are the result of syncopations, mostly by accenting the 2nd beat (or by playing a bit more freely during the bass solo). If you listen to the baking parts they always stick to their 7/4 patterns.
I refunded the dlc and I’m using the money to buy this on band camp. The soundtrack was the only functional part of the DLC, and even then it wasn’t functional in-game.

@Com3t-JnLnn there's a bug only on Xbox and switch where the music won't play so it plays "out of who's womb came the ice" instead.
I doubt I Should Build a Man a Statue will be a boss theme. It doesn't sound right for a teleporter track.
and now we wait.
Is your back sore from carrying this update like crazy?
Fr
The dlc has so many bugs
incredible album, looking forward to owning it on vinyl. musical genius
The music ain't just electric, you're summoning an absolute thunderstorm with this one. It's incredible.
Ok, coming back to this, listened to "So Below" by Lena Raine, and.. idk if anyone else is hearing this, but.. just listen to the song and you'll hear about 1:30 into it, sounds pretty similar. Just a little realization, definitely a coincidence, though.
chris never fails to make my bob my head up and down
DUDE. This is so good - really hoping we get another commentary video :)
We're so close to hearing these in-game!
Hope Gearbox treats you well Chris, you are like the one thing that made this DLC somewhat worth it, wouldn't want the goat be shat on by Greasebox of all things.
2:32 - the fretless bass does a fucking wolf howl. that's magical
Hearing the reintroduced in such a new context was chilling. You’re a fucking genius, Chris!
Ever since I heard the Minecraft EXP points noise in this song, I can't unhear it.
I thought I was going crazy
CHRIS your a legend
Banger after banger. Favorite game soundtrack of all time. ROR2, all bangers.
This is my favourite
I'm so mad that I had driving practice and was only able to see like the last two minutes but I have this on loop now for the next hour.
Now it's my favorite ost, Chris and George are gods
holy fuck dude there’s no words to describe that solo.
Man you're doing some divine work for this DLC
What instrument is the bass on this? I have heard this in so many jazz fusion songs
It's a fretless electric bass :)
3:00. The greatest guitar solo I have ever heard.
@@AstronautDown welp thats what i get for thinking im smart LOL
@explodingpineapple6459 We've all been there, don't sweat it ;)
this sounds awesome
love this
I refunded the dlc and I’m using the money to buy this on band camp. The soundtrack was the only functional part of the DLC, and even then it wasn’t functional in-game.
Am I the only one hearing the minecraft XP sound in this
Interesting how the album is said to release on the same day as this song, yet we still dont have (The Song of Life)
Looks like the song of life is a 9 second intermediate song
Its out rn
