  • Hello!
    Do you love flowers? Of course you do! Do you love painting flowers? There's a good chance you do if you're watching this!
    Do you struggle to capture their fresh beauty, in a way that is not a botanical study, nor a laborious copy from a photo that ends up stiff and lifeless?
    Or, like me, do you always paint everything from life, but find flowers too much of a challenge?
    That was me until last week. But help is at hand! I have found the solution. I stumbled across it - but then when you've been painting as long as I have, something is bound to click, sooner or later.
    Allow me to be your guide in this technique. In this video, which I have made to be only a little faster than real time, I demonstrate a technique I believe you will love.
    No explanation needed - it's all in the show.
    Here's my sales pitch: if you want to stop the endless scroll and learn how to capture your life in sketches, then join our wonderful community of sketchers from all over the world. They're in their kitchens, art rooms, studios and bedrooms in the USA, South America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia - and they come together once or twice a week to sketch with me.
    Banish the scroll and make the most of your memories, and try one of my free classes!
    In fact - if you're very quick and you've never taken a class with me before - you can attend a live class (or watch the playback) on 22nd February. I will be sketching crocuses to celebrate the beautiful season of spring. Use code SPRING24 and you'll get the link for free. 7.00pm UTC, 22nd February 2024 - mark it in your calendar!
    And while we're on the subject of codes - remember to use ROISIN2024 when you're buying anything at all from Rosemary & Co. They give me a few points for every time that code is used at the till.
    Enjoy the video!
    Love, Róisín

    This was so lovely! I don’t tend to sketch flowers much unless it’s a botánica study, I find it impossible to improve on nature’s creation. You did such a wonderful job ❤

    Hi Roisin! You’re making me want to get more fude pens and fill them with these inks. How long do you leave them inked? I sometimes forget to clean mine and wouldn’t like to ruin the pens, I know sketch inks need more regular use.

    • @roisincure
      @roisincure  22 дня назад +1

      I never clean my pens, or very rarely. If you get the brands I recommend you’ll be fine for ages. Once a week with the right inks is fine.

    Hey Roisin, quick question for you: how do you prevent your travel brushes from getting the hair bent when you put the cap on? I have a mop brush from Escoda and I am having a hard time putting the cap back on without the hairs bending , even when i wet it and squeeze. I tried looking online for answers but I can;t find a solution :)

    • @roisincure
      @roisincure  4 месяца назад +1

      Maybe it’s that one in particular. I usually just wet and smooth mine and they’re fine but you have to be really careful nonetheless!

      Love your results with your fude pen and colored inks. I’m wondering if I need to buy more fude pens or if I could just buy more converters and fill each with a different color.

    • @roisincure
      @roisincure  8 дней назад +1

      @Coco-ne5ix yes of course but you’ll be doing a lot of rinsing and flushing through. Maybe that’s the wiser route, I do travel with six pens…
