Those evil bastards killed my friend, Lauren Wagner. I grew up with her all thru high school, we had graduated only a few months before they took her. She was well liked, a real sweetheart, and after forty five years it still hurts and confuses everyone who knew her. Rest in peace, my friend.

@@HardwiredZ06 It was a hell of a thing to happen. They grabbed her just a few miles from where I lived. It could've been any of the girls we grew up with, but Lauren just happened to be convenient for those animals.

I’m a few months late here, but thank you for covering this story. Sadly, my Mother’s friend, Lauren Wagner, was a victim… They went to High School together and Lauren was a very sweet girl and a good student, according to my Mom. She was a pretty red-headed girl. Lauren was taken from just outside of her home in Sepulveda by the two who claimed they were undercover police officers… At that time, my Mom lived just a couple blocks away from where Lauren lived and had been abducted. My family was so shaken, they ended up selling their house there and left the area, though my Great Grandmother also owned a home there and she stayed. This story still haunts my Mom all these years later. She doesn’t like to talk about it. I’m glad to know people haven’t forgotten about those 2 sick bastards and thank you for talking about Lauren. She was actually the 8th victim and when police went to tell her family the devastating news, the media had beat them to it and were already there hoping for an interview with her family. Imagine how devastated they must’ve been… This story will always get to me because this was my Mom’s friend and could’ve easily been my Mom…What the Hillside Stranglers’ victims went through is unimaginable. Those 2 demons destroyed a lot of lives and a lot of families forever. God rest the souls of those poor victims.

Born in 71, grew up in the area, and still live here. This is was so terrifying back then, I feared for my mom and sister (and myself let's be real) every time they left the house. Watching the news was a nightmare. Then we experienced it all again in 84/85 with Ramirez.

Yeah same here with Hillside especially since my mom had some friend of a friend friend's connection with one of the victims. There was a student in my school who had been harassed by two men in a car while the killers were active. Ramirez was scary. My sister and I were alone in our parents' house so my mom hired a male UCLA student to stay with us when they were out of town.

I lived through that. Both my sister-in-law & I had jobs that we were driving home late @ night. My hubs worried more about her: she was more trusting & drove a car. I drove a '66 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup & had more attitude.
Years later I had someone light me up as if they were police. When they approached the car & realized I wasn't alone (hubs had reclined his seat, not feeling well) they took off. I drove to the closest county sheriff station & reported it.
    Stay alert out there...

I moved to LA in 2015 from a neighboring (much safer) county and have lived near the NELA neighborhoods where several of the victims bodies were dumped. This entire area has always had a very dark and malevolent energy for me personally. Knowing more about the crimes that happened in this area, it makes total sense.
Even on a sunny day, there is just this palpable air of doom around here. I have never felt completely comfortable living here. I feel like something dark is always in the air.

I moved to Hawthorne in 1977 at age 13 from Pismo Beach. Seen reports about all the murders while they were going on. Of course we walked everywhere as kids. We just went in larger groups to like the mall or movies. Moved back to Pismo Beach the summer of 1978. We missed the small town feel and being so close to the ocean also not having to worry about serial killers. It was a scary living in LA at that time. We still drive to LA sometimes but it’s nice to live in a smaller town. Thanks Michael for another great video

My brother delivered for the Glendale News-Press at the time so we were inundated with news about it. It's funny how we could have paper routes at that age with serial killers killing around you.

Michael one of the most interesting and disturbing videos, didn't know of these monsters over here in England, really enjoyed your knickerbocker hotel videos as well, thanks 👍

I can't believe how many sick people there are out there. Thank you for showing this. I wasn't even born when this was going on. And here stories like this just turns my stomach but makes me realize people do need help. People do need a helping hand. My heart goes out to the victims families on what happened. I mean stuff like this needs to be told to let people know that something's wrong with the world today

Try watching the multiple channels devoted to catching child predators.
Every single day they catch multiple people who intend on having sex with children.
      Life is certainly grim.
