  • This is a bit of a longer video HOWEVER, I walk you through the simple paper piecing part of making the quilted journal cover and I show you how to turn the cover into a travel notebook with elastics AND I show you a different way of completing the journal by sewing in the pages. This is a detailed, step by step process of making the journals. Thanks for watching!

Thank you Lisa for this wonderful tutorial. I was thinking while watching it with a suggested optional idea. before adding the binding, make two vertical pockets on front and back inside. then add binding. I think in my journals I will take my carefully measured papers clamp them put glue on the spine then add strip of burlap. let dry completely then slide my front and back pages into the pockets on each side. I use my journals for my poems and also as prayer journals, so I write in mine. but I love the way you put these together.

Been racking my brain for a gift for a group of 12 old HS (class of 1969) friends. This is now in basket for consideration. Currently have 1. a pillow top using "Circle of Friends" pattern, 2. quilted pot holders, 3. aprons with their names embroidered on them & now 4. a journal cover they can keep with their Bible. Decisions, decisions, decisions 🫣🤦‍♀️🕳🤯🙆‍♀️🤪🤷‍♀️

Hello… what size grommet or eyelet are you using? We were attempting to use a 1/8 in eyelet and it was not deep enough to stick out the back so it can be closed. Any suggestions?
