My cat Sneak had/has Stomitius. His mouth was extremely bad and eventually I was able to get the funds to get all his teeth extracted. He got to keep his fangs and the itty bitty teeth in the front. His quality of life has gone up so much since then, and he's such a happier little man now. I am so glad that Pepper is feeling better now
My cat Izzy just got diagnosed with stomatitis earlier this year and had to get a bunch of teeth yanked. Not all of the teeth were being affected so she is only missing about half of them. The funny thing is that now she only has two canines, one on top one on bottom, on opposite sides of her mouth so she has the oddest looking snaggletooth meows. She was also drugged out of her mind when she came home. Her depth perception was not great for a few hours. She tried to rub on my hand from like 3/4 of a foot away and walked into a wall when turning a corner. I'm glad Pepper is feeling better! Give him a pat for me
@@nyra8263 Love that! I have an IRL friend named Izzy. Needless to say its caused some confusion when shes visiting. Always looks concerned when we tell her to stop scratching the carpet lol. Cat Izzy seems to be fully recovered now based on how she has gone back to chewing everything that looks even remotely like a string or has the texture of a shower curtain (rip my pride flag). If anything she seems a bit frustrated that her chewing isn't as efficient with only 50% of her teeth 😄
Don't feel bad about not getting the surgery sooner, no pet owner wants their baby to be unconcious in a cold, vet operation room while the vets possibly miss the real issue That is a shared feeling and the important thing is that he is now better! You could've prolonged it even more, but instead he is now a happy kitty with very stilish pijamas if he wants them
Ya, I think he's a Maine coon tabby, as I have one and it looks kinda like him. May also be a normal Maine coon. Sorry for cat breed nerding on you you probably didn't want this.
In that case it could be a parent carrying a bit of the fluffy gene/being part Maine coon. Meaning that he would really only have the fur, an another parent being a smaller cat. Idk how cats work genetically to well so nobody take what I say as true.
I’m so glad that Pepper is ok! Don’t beat yourself up over not doing it earlier, the only thing that matters is that Pepper is great! ❤ Edit: thank you for the likes! Have a cookie🍪
Exactly! A cat rescuer I follow once said "we all do the best we can with the information we have". You didn't know at the time what the best outcome was going to be or what would lead to it, so you tried the options that seemed like the best for his situation at the time. You did good.
Wonderful!!! My partner's cat had a similar story, and also had a miraculous recovery after getting all her teeth removed! she's been happy and healthy in all the years since. It sounds absolutely insane as a treatment out of context and my partner was similarly hesitent and skeptical. Now the cat is bouncier, friendlier, more attentive, has a better appetite, is gentler with other cats and has recovered from her own anxiety behaviours! Don't beat yourself up. 'oh, you have to remove all of this carnivore's teeth in an invasive major surgery' sounds WILD as an option, and like it should never work, or at least not be worth the cost of ruining the cat's quality of life. We were similarly skeptical. It's incredibly how much cats bounce back from feline stomatitis after getting their teeth removed, and how much they thrive with out any teeth! I want every cat owner who watches this video to consider being more open to the treatment. I know it sounds incredibly scary, I completely understand, I promise you it is 100% worth it and your cat CAN have a happy and healthy life after.
I had a cat who for the last 3-4 years of his life sneezed a whole lot, it was almost like something was constantly tickling his nose. We took him to the vet multiple times but there wasn’t anything to do. He did live with it and it didn’t seem to bother him to much so we were chillin.
Hey, wait mine does too. He has these sneezing fits and just sneezes a lot in general, took him to the vet, quick meds, and he seems to sneeze a lot less now. Same with mine though, doesn’t seem to bother em lol
Aww, good for Pepps 🥹 Very glad he recovered well! :)) Sending wishes for his current state to remain positive ^_^ Super relieved you took that time to get him checked out; nice job, Moon 👏👏👏 …Also, the fact that I was thoroughly invested and then almost got sent into another dimension of extraterrestrial laughter at the “90’s kid waiting for Ducktales” comment deserves the gifting of a crown, soooo… here ya go: 🫴👑 I say “extraterrestrial” because there’s at least a 90% chance that the power behind such a laugh would’ve made me sound like Chewbacca’s long lost cousin :’)
I'll just take this opportunity to say that it's okay to feel bad that you didn't get him surgery sooner! It's better to remember that it would've been way worse if you hadn't got him surgery at all! Better late than never, as they say. Im glad Pepper is doing well!
My childhood dogs’ teeth were so shitty, it wound up leading to problems that would… eventually lead to his death. So i’m really glad that my new dog’s teeth are so much better, and that we’ve made the decision to have the vet clean them when necessary. Finding the best course of action for your pet’s health can really depend on so many factors, sort of like how people’s health and healthcare needs can be so different.
Im so glad pepper is doing well. When my dogs had mouth issues i was so afraid they'd be in pain for years before we got them some meds that cleared up the issue
i had a cat with stomatitis that passed away recently, he also only got better once all his teeth (other than two i think) were removed so thats cool. its awesome to hear pepper is doing good :D
so glad to see pepper back to his old self and even better than before!! i was definitely not expecting your cat to get into punk patch pants and then patterned designer pajamas as a part of his health update but i am here for it
My cat is a little bit of a weirdo and actually LIKES sweaters in the winter. He will fight if you try to take them off before he's ready and he'll leave them somewhere safe like on his bed or on the table when he takes them off instead of taking them to the litter box like his collar or any toys he doesn't like. He's also the type of weirdo to like tummy rubs, though. I'm glad Pepper's doing better! I hope he stays well for years to come.
My twelve year old cat has been diagnosed with gingivitis for three years, and it can be a bit hard sometimes since he’s too… moody to let people brush his teeth. I’m glad to hear that Pepper is doing better after his surgery, though. Hopefully he (and everyone else’s) cats will stay healthy!
My dogs are both Pomeranian chihuahuas and one of them didn’t have enough room in her mouth for all of her teeth, causing two of them to form abscesses in her mouth so we had to get them removed too. Pet surgery is scary! I’m glad Pepper is okay!
Had a moment of shock at the "itchy old cotton yarn blankets that your grandmother made in like 1980" because it looks EXACTLY like the blankets my great grandmother crocheted that we still have.
I am so happy for your cat Pepper, I have sibling cats to and luckily no one got what he had the only thing is that Sugar (the boy one in the sibling) got outside and never came back even tho he always did and I am now questioning why I am telling you this but anyways I am happy that Pepper is better
I’m really glad to see that he’s doing better. My dog was just recently at the vet due to one of her eyes bulging due to a build up of pressure. Pepper reminded me that although sometimes their conditions are severe, they can get through them with proper treatment and it definitely eased some of my worries with my own pet
Awe I’m glad that he’s doing better! My friends cat had the same condition and the surgery definitely helped her enjoy life again after years of being in pain 😢 Love your videos and give pepper extra love for me! ❤
thank you so much for making this video about Pepper! I heard in one of your recent videos that he was getting surgery and was anxious to know how he was. Glad to hear that he's doing so much better, what a beautiful kitty.
Poor baby! I’m sad he had to suffer for so long but I’m glad you didn’t put him down or not take care of the issue at all. It’s a miracle he’s all better now and I love that you know what his favorite textures are
So happy for Pepper! I work in veterinary dentistry and see many of these cases come through. Some also have resorptive lesions, which is another common and painful oral disease in cats. I wish him the best recovery! It's amazing how they bounce back after such extensive surgery. Good job trying to toothbrush though! Many owners don't even do that.
yay! i'm glad your cat is okay. i remember seeing a few videos back about you saying you wouldn't be making as many videos as you were waiting for an appointment or surgery for pepper, and i'm really glad he's all sorted out and healthy again despite me literally never having seen him before this video. and don't worry about the whole prolonging the surgery thing; you did what you thought was best for your cat and surgery can cause major blood loss or other internal things. anyway, glad your cat is happy and healthy again now :)
I'm so happy and relieved to see update videos like this, nothing makes you feel more helpless seeing your pets in pain and doing all you can while seeing them get worse, I had a dog (his name is Pippin and he got adopted by a priest which I find hilarious) who had severe gum and teeth problems and seeing the difference surgery makes is downright eye opening! he was always energetic and dramatic (about non serious things like me using the blender, which in his mind meant the world was ending and he needed to kill it in order to save me) but when his teeth got worse and he got more lethargic we knew that getting his teeth out was the best option. it's a hard choice to make and it's always scary but the results ended with a happy pet and now he lives in a comfy house eating canned food all day and even though he's no longer in my care I couldn't be happier for the little guy!
im so glad pepper's recovered! stomatitis is so dangerous in cats in crazy. its the primary cause of my last cats passing and i wish every day i caught it before it was too late. so i am ecstatic that pepper is doing so well!!
One of our cats had stomatitis and got all her teeth removed. She still insists on eating dry food and swallowing the kibble whole. The Potato is unstoppable.
Noooo my cat has this too and my stepmom is currently saving to get him surgery, he has so few teeth left (he came with barely any) so we're trying to give him medicine to help when it looks like he's having a bad time. Next cat 100% gonna be using the toothbrush on

Ya, I think he's a Maine coon tabby, as I have one and it looks kinda like him. May also be a normal Maine coon. Sorry for cat breed nerding on you you probably didn't want this.

HE'S A MAINE COON, I THOUGHT HE WAS A NORWEGIAN CAT@@Moonkitti
I'm so glad Pepper is okay, best of vibes for Peppy and props to Moon for being such a good cat mother

Congrats on getting your boy feeling good again!
Your cat is so pretty!!
Im so glad you made this video cause today the vet told me they'd need to remove some of my 12 year old cats teeth and I didn't panic because of this
hope Pepper feels better❤💗
I’m so glad the surgery helped!
so glad peppers doing good
Glad to hear peppers doing good!
pep no longer stankin. blessed day. glad he's ok.
so glad to hear pepper is doing better!!
Your cats and not your cat are so CUTE!
Oh boy, those pajamas are absolutely gorgeous. He must have had all the she cats after him.
I’m glad peppers feeling better!!
Yea! Thanks for the update.

He was on steroids for a long time, but sadly the stomatitis did not get any better despite all the things we did and it got to the point that if he wasn’t on steroids he was laying and hiding in pain.
