A note about eye contact: People with ADHD, such as myself, MAY sometimes find it difficult to focus on what your saying if we are making eye contact rather than looking elsewhere or looking around. This is not true for everyone with ADHD, however it is true for some, so I just wanted to let you all know that, just so you know there are other causes for lack of eye contact.
Yes. I also find that my Aspergers friend doesn’t make eye contact, yet is fully engaged in the conversation. I found this uncomfortable, but once my friend was diagnosed, it made perfect sense.
I have ADHD and I struggle with knowing how much eye contact is too much. It feels weird after a few words and I need to look away, but you’re right, it can definitely be easier to focus when not directly looking at the person talking to you. I do the same thing when finding veins on patients in the hospital. I rarely look at their arms and hands until I clean them and actually go to stick. My fingers feel the veins easier when I’m not watching them. Lmao

Just keep in mind, these are opinions. People do these various things for several reasons, i.e. the crossing arms, doesn't always mean defensive, it can also be boredom, or just self control whilst waiting, as the person doesn't succumb to their child like desires to have to be entertained or engaged at all times, it's a great way to keep from touching things in a public place, which is something most people should learn to practice.

I’m terribly shy most of the time. I have heard from people that I come across as stand off-ish or antisocial when in reality I just don’t know what to say.
Please don't use the word "antisocial" in this context any more. "Antisocial" is what sociopaths, psychopaths and punk rock anarchists suffer from; the condition where a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others. Introverts are "asocial"; people who have a lack of motivation to engage in social interactions and activities, or have a strong preference for solitary activities.
@@angelus_solus i think 'antisocial' is being used correctly here. They aren't describing the way they feel about social interactions, but the way they come across to other people. I'm not willing to share that much because it's non of strangers business and especially non of long time stalker ex's business. I have my close frens to share everything with
With prosopagnosia it's also typical to be more attentive when not making eye-contact. When other people think that it is because of a lack of interest, life can get more difficult. It's a quite recently discovered phenomena which about 2.5% have but most still don't know it. (Prosopagnosia = Face blindness / the inability to recognize someone (only) by their face)
I think the most important thing is how kind people are and how open they are to help others. I know some people who are extremely helpful and they are awesome!
When I was an undergraduate I took a module in film. In one of the seminars, the lecturer made a comment about 'people whose closed body language shows that they clearly don't want to be in the class', and she looked pointedly at me. I sat with my arms crossed most of the time because I was tired after work and it was comfortable. At the end of the module, my essay got the highest grade. After she handed back our papers, and to her credit, in front of the entire class, she gave a retraction. She stated she had made assumptions about some people based on her understanding of body language and she apologized stating that she had no idea I would write so passionately and insightfully and that I had opened her mind to analysis and meaning she had not previously seen. The moral of the story. Body language tells a story, but not always the entire story. It has to be understood in the many contexts in which it appears with some time to be taken to learn about the person as a whole if that context allows.
Some people know those things gave them the image of a “good person” so they do it even though deep down are awful. It's so hard to really trust people
That's because they are cold and calculating. Take them out for a drink or allow them to get confortable and see how their true personalities surface. Nobody can keep up the charade for long.
That's y I don't trust ppl who say "I'm a nice person" or when you get to know a bartender and learn they are nice to customers just to get a better tip even tho they are annoyed with them
the bartender one is different. Its their job to be nice to you even if you annoy them.If they express they find you annoying they get fired. They are just doing their work.
@@0MissNemo0 And is THAT why so many people want us to believe they can hold a bottle, glass, can in thier hands, and/or set it on a table?? Weird af. Anyway, just spend time with people, a first impression is always just that! Eventually, you will get into some kind of setting that just isn't all comfortable for anyone involved (nope don't do ther hairdresser's expedition to the Everest ;)) - when people are more concerned then about how to cooperate, and/or find agreement, rather than believing they are the most important individual, and/or only keeper of "the truth" on this planet, that is certainly a start to figure out how they actually tick.

Here Aldi's has their carts set up similar (for a quarter). I have noted that occasionally some people are lazy enough that a quarter means nothing to them and they still will leave the carts out in the parking lot. Body language and irrational behaviors can also be signals of deeper issues, of pain ect. This video is great for signals of possibility but more important, I believe is an overall pattern. The irony is not lost on me of impression though, I took care of people in pain for thirty years and now have chronic back pain. I have had people literally confront me with being "restless" in my seat when I am actually shifting because of discomfort. Several days of chronic pain can also seriously affect mood. I have been on both sides of this one now. But overall if people I took care of had a good disposition their sharpness was never horrible and regret usually followed. I have definitely found this one to be true for me.
I'm usually not really talkative and I tend not to interact with others if possible but when I'm really into something that someone is talking about I'm very talkative, confident and I go straight to the point. A lot of people say that I'm loyal and stuff but I'm really just a human being.

Not so straight forward in our country, we have car guards, which you normally tip and they will take the trolley back, so this depends highly on the country and the customs they have. Animal abuse on the other hand will be a no no in any country. Though declawing cats is also a different thing in the UK and Usa. To me it is wrong
In my country we don't have car guards as the person above said, but I have never once seen shopping carts randomly scattered around supermarket exits / around their station. It's just a public order thing everyone does
@@voidofalltrades Why not just put them in the return where they belong? If you don't put them in parking spaces, great! 😁 👏 That's nice of you! Now people don't have to get out of their car to move it. But you're making the caddie's job harder by not returning them where they belong. They don't belong on the side. The caddie is supposed to collect the carts from the returns and use their machine thingy (I dunno what it's called but it creates a cool Slither-like chain of carts!) to put them back inside the store. Think about how annoyed they would be to have to run a marathon across creation to find lost carts. Especially if it was raining! I don't know if they ever do this in the dark but that has to be frustrating, too.
Same. I silently judge them. I get that people have pain or something like ADD, but as a person who struggles with both, I have not once neglected to put carts back in the return. If it's possible for someone like me who has to sit down every few steps while in the store due to pain to put carts away, it's possible for everyone else. 😊

So when I see a server I see myself and professional colleagues. I cannot stand to go out with ungrateful entitled rude people! I went to Germany to visit my cousins one time. It's really common to be given some coins for returning things like the basket your food came in or a shopping cart as a way to encourage you to return them. Since Aldi is a Germany company, they keep that practice even in places like the US.
Keep it that way. They just encouraged stalking, though it seems that everyone does it. Try to make your stuff not visible to a wide audience to avoid stalkers
The shopping cart thing is complicated, cus (where I’m from) there are people who are hired to take the shopping carts back, that is their only job and they are usually either really young or unable to do much work in some way. My friend well- ex-friend was like that
Just keep in mind, these are opinions.
3:36 The most important people you should be nice to are the waiters, servers, anyone who's less than you in their work or financially.
They needs respect more than anything.
Always smile to them, say thank you, help them with something. This little things aren't little and have such a great impact on them. Be a nice person and always be humble. Make a good thing in someone's day, have a good impact y'all❤️
Amen to that. They have to put up with a lot and rely on tips.
Well, that isn't something 100% real. At least in my case. My dad is a god man with waiters and is very friendly with them, but he was a shit with my mom. Manipulator, lier, etc. Soo, yeah, be careful

You can learn a lot about someone when they’re going through something tough, such experiences usually require you to drop whatever persons or phase you’re in and show your true self
I’m terribly shy most of the time. I have heard from people that I come across as stand off-ish or antisocial when in reality I just don’t know what to say.
I feel that way too.
People also sometimes think you're being arrogant when you're really just shy
Please don't use the word "antisocial" in this context any more. "Antisocial" is what sociopaths, psychopaths and punk rock anarchists suffer from; the condition where a person consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others.
Introverts are "asocial"; people who have a lack of motivation to engage in social interactions and activities, or have a strong preference for solitary activities.
In short, learn what words really mean before you use them.
@@angelus_solus i think 'antisocial' is being used correctly here. They aren't describing the way they feel about social interactions, but the way they come across to other people. When you're shy, it can come across as being cold/disregarding other people's feelings and rights. At least, that's how i read it

Haha I do the same and I believe that too. But I don’t know if it really means that I’m boring.
Maybe it depends on if you’re fun to hang out wit
I disagree, it doesn’t make you interesting nor does it make you boring, it just means that you don’t necessarily give as much of a fuck about that social media.

With prosopagnosia it's also typical to be more attentive when not making eye-contact.
When other people think that it is because of a lack of interest, life can get more difficult.
It's a quite recently discovered phenomena which about 2.5% have but most still don't know it.

100th Like on this comment :) probably
TalkWithAngelX3 you are absolutely right! you have to trust bartenders no matter what. They have the alcohol 😏😂

According to the shopping cart theory literally everyone in my neighborhood is all nice, empathetic, kind people but I highly doubt that lmao
It just shows character - a person who will do the right thing even when not being watched. Shows nothing about how nice, kind or considerate they are, IMO
Maybe it's just because they're used to doing it? Like, if everyone around you is doing something, you're very likely to do that too. So if everybody in your neighborhood always returns the shopping cart it can turn into an unspoken rule that everyone follows without thinking about it.

I really like the shopping cart theory. Straightforward and easy to apply.
It's just a public order thing everyone does
Those of you humans that haven’t returned your shopping carts I’m very disappointed in you

Sorry...? Usually we'd put it at the side

Also it said this was uploaded 35 seconds ago and I stopped mid conversion just to watch this.
It was worth it.
Even if someone might seem bubbly or has a "happy" body language, the person might just use it as a facade. To hide the emotional distress deep down. I've been in a romantic relationship with one. And trust me, it hurts to see her use the same mask 24/7 without having the strength or courage to express how she feels. It hurts so so much. ;(
"The Shopping Cart Theory"......whoa.....you learn something new everyday!! Thanks.
I recently learned by myself, that trying to read a person is not such a good thing and it leads sometimes to misunderstanding. Maybe I read wrong, :-) but sometimes it is hardships, just to look and make an assumption, because maybe he is in that mood, but because of an different subject. As they said in the beginning, we humans are complex. So for myself I learned, I need to ask more question to people, to really understand them! And also I learned, that I need to learn myself better! With love David from Munich/ Germany

I always figured my difficult time keeping eye contact was due to Aspergers'.
It's difficult to make eye contact and keep it, but I'm also a pretty shy person.
agreed I have Aspergers too and I think its hard to keep eye contact and that its like that for most people with autism ... people getz so sensitive when they think your not paying attention to them but you reallyz are the entire time your just not making eye contact the whole time is all :/
I have asperger too and no friends
@@DuskWolf913 like, I never understood that. It’s not like I’m hearing noises with my eyes lmao

"Their taste in music"
Me (who likes classical to rock music): I wonder how would they interpret that 🤔
Free spirited and accepting?
Same here.
I also have a very broad taste in music
I like lots of different kinds. From Marty Robbins to Godsmack. Peter Paul and Mary to led zeplin. I think music should make you feel good. I don't like hateful abusive messages.
same. i mostly listen to rock, musicals and jazz music tho
my head always goes down when I'm either really thinking about something or I'm just remembering those embarassing things I did in the past
why did I post this twice
A shy introvert dilemma: People often say I look like a rugged person and snobbish but in reality, I don't look people in the eye that much and smile at them (which is normal in our culture) coz I simply don't know what to say LMAO
