      Thanks Michelle! There's a lot of great content on RUclips, so it's tough growing a small channel. We grew by 25,936 subs in 2020 though, so we're headed in the right direction 😀

      I think this recipe would be popular to Westerners without the sauce. Westerners who love seafood, mostly eat it without sauce or gravy. Additionally, tend not to eat runny eggs unless it's Eggs Benedict or a small population of Westerners are brave enough to eat a runny egg on a hamburger. But that's only a small number of them. This dish would be interesting to them if the eggs were more cooked (not overcooked) especially with spicy seasoning or vegetables. Yes I know that it is a Japanese recipe not a Western dish, but Asian cuisine over the past few decades has expanded significantly (like fried rice was created by Chinese immigrants 100 years ago). We see that sushi has limitless creations but still is recognizably Japanese "sushi." So this dish could easily be modified to reach a wider audience.

      @@eden-y6f Sounds good! There seems to be a lot of interest amongst Japanese cooking teachers to offer classes to foreigners (thought sadly a lot of these have had to close down due to the pandemic). I hope your student is able to time the opening of their cafe with the return of visitors.

    Aw! Missed it. Oh well, get to watch it privately. This is right up my alley. I looooooooooove crab.
    Unfortunately it's so expensive where I live.
    Sending you love and happiness. Stay safe and happy holidays!

      Hi Sara, sorry you missed it! Maybe next week? Crab is pretty expensive here in Japan too which is why a lot of people use imitation crab for this. It's not quite the same but it's still pretty good!

    Hi Marc! I'm sorry I was late for the premiere. This looks amazing. This may not be possible, but do you have any recommendations about making a smaller batch that might feed one person? This recipe looks like it might feed a family. The kanitama looks so delicious and I'd like to try making it. Thanks again for your wonderful video today.

    • @NoRecipes
      @NoRecipes  3 года назад

      No need to apologize Erin, I was a little bit worried about you, but I'm glad you made it at the end! This is enough to feed 2 hungry adults (along with rice), so if you halve the recipe, you should have enough for yourself, and possibly some leftovers. Nothing really changes in terms of the process, but assuming you use the same size pan, the eggs will cook through much faster as they will be thinner. If you're doing this for 1, I'd recommend turning this into a donburi as the sauce is delicious soaked into rice. I hope you have a wonderful week!
