Understanding the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and treatments for congestive heart failure (CHF) is essential for nursing students preparing for exams and the NCLEX.
This video covers the causes of CHF like hypertension, cardiomyopathy, and valvular disorders that can lead to impairment of the heart's pumping ability. Key signs and symptoms of CHF that nurses must know include fatigue, shortness of breath, peripheral edema, and weight gain from fluid overload. Managing CHF involves diuretics, ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, and diet and fluid restrictions. Reviewing the major characteristics of systolic versus diastolic CHF, nursing interventions, and medications will get you ready to successfully answer exam questions about this common cardiovascular disorder.

Hi!! I’m currently in my 3rd semester out of 4! Another way we learned how to remember the differences between R sided and L sided is
R Sided: HEAD: Hepatomegaly, Edema, Ascities, Distended neck vein
L sided: CHOP: Cough, Hemoptysis, Orthopnea, Pulmonary Edema!!

I have gone through. Hit 25% in ECHO and recovered to 45% through TIDE 20 Diuretics. In between I went through Angiography & my bun went up the roof & creatine jumped from 2.1 to 2.76. Now struggling with the Toxins + high creatine & BUN. Under observation of a Nephologist. This video helped me so much & I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Very useful especially for visual learners. I liked the simple nursing app way better than kaplan. I just get bored and sleepy most of the time. This app is under rated..this should be always included for nclex test takers. Thank God for this brilliant Mike. 👌👌👌

I wish my dad and I had this information a decade ago. It may have given him a lot more than the 5 years he had after open heart surgery. These things were poorly explained at the Veterans Affairs hospital for things to watch for, how to watch for them and what level of importance they were.
