I can only get so erect.
You joke but I feel like this collabo would be some of the hardest shit ever put on wax
Hol the fuck up... You mighta just did something
You mean Cal Deck
Ghostface is the most consistently great member of the group. Killed it in Wu Tang and killed it solo. Every album is at least somewhat good.
They're all legends but ghostface is insane also inspectah deck id say those 2 are insane and the best out of wu but they're all amazing
Prodigy R6 Inspectah Deck is really overlooked within Wu also. But I agree, he’s great. Also love me some ODB and Method Man.
Ghostface has the most prolific career out of all them, mainstream, mcing, you Name it
Haut Strange Inspectah Deck on Czarface is amazing but for me GZA is probably the best, just based off Liquid Swords alone.
Ghostdini Wizard Of Poetry and Apollo Kids are the only Ghostface albums i dont like but there not bad just not good.
Rip Ol Dirty Bastard man one of the most innovative rappers of all time
Santi Barrios Yep. IMO, N***a Please is just as great as Return but in a different way. Both albums obviously had s huge impact on Danny Brown, Tyler, the Creator, etc.
Haut Strange dont forget bizzare from d12 and to a lesser extent viper; and merlyn from brockhampton
Shitpost Mongolia lol Bizzare
At least we still have the spirit of ODB in Danny Brown
Shitpost Mongolia Viper is the greatest rapper of all time. He wasn’t influenced by anyone. He influenced *everyone* past and future.
More lists and worst to best videos pls
He said on his last livestream he'll soon be doing an OutKast worst to best.
There's no debate Liquid Swords makes me go crazy. The flows, the structure, the beats, the samples, are out of this world. I wish I could go back in time to listen to it for the first time. I slept on that masterpiece for many years and know it's in my top 3 all time.
I’m about to listen to it for the first time.
@@nzbg1132 you are on for a treat
just listened for the first time this is one of the greatest pieces of music i have ever heard
I find it sad that ODB passed away. Just thinking about the potential his music had. Especially now that it feels like every new artist wants to be weird. And thinking back to ODB. Where his music still stands well compared to other “experimental” rappers that people get crazy about. R.I.P. ODB 👐
Yeah him passing stung harder than most celebrities/musicians to me. I really wanted to hear where he was going, besides the fact that wu tang lost so much of their heart and soul when he passed
I don't know if i would understand Death Grips or jpeg mafia, without ODB
@@BigSmiley0TV ODB was on some outer world shit on his records.
He made a new sound and style that was so
Many years ahead of its time that underground SoundCloud cats are doing now
What's dope about ODB is that he wasn't necessarily trying to be experimental I think, he was just unapologetically himself on the mic.
There are so damn many classic beats on Supreme Clientele it's top 3 no doubt
One, nutmeg, Apollo kids, mighty healthy etc.... there's just too many fat beats

Wu banga 101!
Liquid Swords is in my top 5 albums of all time. It's flawless front to back
Gza's rapping on Liquid Swords paved the way for the continuous, rhyme and bar channing flows used by many undergroud rappers in the 2000's
Ik I’m late but you’re honestly right, if not for his cutthroat and to the point rhyme schemes and like stream of consciousness flows that him and some of the feature on the album showed like on tracks like liquid swords, duel of the iron mic, 4th chamber and shadowboxin, would we even have mf doom? Or for modern day examples earl sweatshirt and denzel curry? He’ll even the old school samurai snippets give this fictional graphic comic kind of aesthetic that is so prevalent on mf dooms records later on.
Who else thinks Inspectah deck is one of the most underrated rappers ever?
Can't help but wonder how good his first album would've been if it came out when it was supposed to with full RZA production.

Even though being considered a unofficial member, one of my favourite Wu-Tang solo albums is Donna's "The Pillage". DAMN, it's underrated. One of my favourite hip hop albums in a matter of instrumentals.

Oh Donna beat is sooooo sick
Great album, but I feel Heavy Mental is the most under appreciated
@@idk-vr3fsI don’t think he was when that album came out tbf
Most underrated WU solo and to me a classic is ghostface's 2014 concept album "36 Seasons". A lot of the tracks being performed by live soul bands the revelations. AZ and Kool G Rap both play a character throughout the overarching story. From front to back their isn't a skip to be found and it's a shame this album didn't receive radio play. Perfect balance of catchy anthems and gritty street stories. Don't sleep on this modern classic another day.
Tical holds a magical place in my heart! One of my all time favorites for sure.

I think OB4CL 2 is just as great as any of them.
I'm glad he mentioned Ghostface's Fishscale. I feel like that album is overshadowed by Supreme Clientele but it's excellent and goes to show that Ghost has a real depth to his discography that other Clan members lack. Tony Starks himself has some of his best bars on tracks like "Shakey Dog" and the production is like a hip hop fan's dream team. DOOM, Dilla, Just Blaze, Pete Rock and other killers all on one album?
And thanks for mentioning Masta Killah's No Said Date, MK has a very soothing flow and voice, thus a great record to relax to. Since I don't know that many rap albums overall (perhaps 10 or so) I can't really tell how impressive it is relative to others. Good thing is, while I normally care only for the greatest available records, I'm just... content with this one, a rather seldom experience for me.

I'm glad that you mentioned Masta Killa's No Said Date. That album was slept on and it was a low key classic. Was one of the sound tracks to my year 12 at school.
Great choices. I love that you included the second ODB LP. Would've substituted Tical with Bobby Digital in Stereo. The rest is spot on for me.
It also may be an unpopular opinion, but "RZA as Bobby Digital: In Stereo" was an amazing album for me. It walks such an odd balance between upbeat, poppy songs and almost depressingly dreary tracks that I found totally enthralling when it dropped. I highly recommend Wu fans to go back and check it out if they initially shrugged it off. I think it has held up extremely well, and perhaps better than most other Wu solos.
I came to say the same thing. That’s a good album still goes today

Nice video man! I’ve been listening to Wu Tang alot in the last few weeks and one solo album that i always loved and that i think is very underrated is Grandmasters by Gza and Dj Muggs. That shit is so sick!
Thank you soooo much for making this video! I’ve heard of most of these and kind of skimmed over them but i respect your opinions on music so I’ll definitely give these a full listen!
As a long time Wu Tang fan can't forget about Lil Shyheim, Cappadonna, Gravediggaz, Killah Priest, Shabazz The Disciple, etc (Sunz of Man), 9th Prince, etc (Killarmy), Royal Fam, Wu Syndicate, Dark Skinned Assassin, N-Tyce, Champ MC, J Boo, Finesse aka (Deadly Venom), American Cream Team, La The Darkman, etc. All these cats blessed it, (Underground real hip hop).

Liquid swords is dark and mysterious, i really like that. Also love the mention of Gravediggaz 6 feet deep. I listened to that album a lot growing up
The amount of people who like hip hop and have not heard Tical, is too damn high
"Liking" hip hop, and being a hip hop head are two different things. If you ain't hear Tical, you ain't a hip hop head.
@@shinbakihanma2749 personally I just feel its one of those projects that I feel is so good, you don't need to be a hip hop head to love it. I do agree though, if you claim to be one and don't know Tical, that's kinda crazy.
@@espiritucallejero9127 i agree, kid. The era we're in, especially with the these young heads not knowing they're history, a classic gem like Tical, due to it's age isn't going to have a lot of exposure. The dude who host this channel is sleeping on Tical, what that tell you?? 😆

Uncontrolled substance is often overlooked imo it's one of the best wutang solos
Deck has some mixtape gems plus his work with Czarface largely slaps.
Inspectah Deck is widely overlooked in general
Deck is definitely one of the most talented MC's in Wu-Tang, but the beats on his solo album are pretty mediocre at best.
wow anthony. i never thought you’d enjoy kpop
Yeah, he's a weird hipster dude.
dude probably just saw the supreme clientele cover
yeah can't believe he enjoyed kpop boybands like Brockhampton and Wu-Tang Clan
Liquid swords is a colder album than 36 chambers.
Agree
@buddha buddha I'd say they're both very raw. Liquid swords took me a few listens to get. Now it's my favourite ever rap album
Venom by U-God is a serious grower and in my opinion, with Scotty Wotty in tow, it’s arguably his best. The track Epicenter is his best track to date.
Wu-Block is amazing too, again, while not a full on Wu album, I just love it!
The beauty of the Wu catalogue is there’s just so much material, you can’t get bored or fail to discover new verses, sounds and rhymes each time you rotate the monumental back catalogue.
Ive been watching your videos for about 4 years now and i think this was your best video yet keep it mellon MORE BOOMBAP HIPHOP!!!
RZA intended to produce a full album for Inspectah Deck as he'd done for some of the other Wu members, but a flood destroyed much of his equipment and beats. That shit kills me because the RZA is my favorite hip-hop producer right next to DJ Premier, and I feel like a '90s Deck album with RZA production would have classic potential. I enjoy The Resident Patient quite a lot, and I love what he's done with Czarface, but all that said I don't think Deck ever had a bona fide classic solo record. Still one of my favorite MCs though.
Deck is really skilled MC. Love him lots
I think it would had vibe like in S.O.S track from the Killa Beez album. Damn flood(
🎯
I still say inspectah deck first album uncontrolled substance is his best album to me even tho I wish that deck's album produced by rza that got destroyed in the flood never happened but it is what it is things in life happens for a reason
RZA had an album set for everybody including Deck, U God, and Masta Killa and the flood ruined their solo careers. Deck was actually supposed to go after Meth or ODB during that time in the mid 90's. The first beat on the song Box in Hand on Ironman was actually a beat from Decks OG album that got ruined by the flood. If Decks album had a similar vibe to that beat that album would've been a classic.
There's definitely a progression from 36 chambers through those first round solos. Yes they sound like wu tang but they also each have their own nuanced lane stylistically. To say that they are somehow too similar to the first album as some kind of knock to me is not a healthy perspective. The mcing and production clearly grew in between the first clan albums as evident by these solo albums.
"No Said Date" from Masta Killa deserves more attention. Silverbacks is a banger.
Watching this again... I find DECK 's Uncontrolled Substance and UGOD's Golden Arms Redemption underated. Also seemingly underappreciated is GZA's Beneath the Surface. I know the production style changed from original WU on these... but that 's also when each members were taking flight in their own direction. I can appreciate that.
I put all these a few times a year since they were released.
Cappa's The Pillage was enormous for us too.
Beneath the surface is dope. It had the most random skits ever. But the beats were usually good. Straight hip hop. It had a modern hip hop/new millennium sound. Real crisp and clean. All the main members were there. Underrated album for sure.
_Uncontrolled Substance_ is dope. Always has been

@@ThatGuy-ky2yf yes man.
I know this video was made a while ago I got into the WU from the first Album 36 Chambers when it comes to the solo stuff I think all the first albums from each member is the best from there discographies I just love the original RZA production which started to change in later works.
Lets Argue:
I think that time has been quite kind to U-God's Golden Arms Redemption. While certainly not perfect and one of the worse Wu solo efforts, I can still revisit this album to this day and have a great time. I think it is extremely underrated and hope it gets the recognition it deserves.
Best tracks: Turbo Charge, Lay Down and Rumble.
Agreed those are some good songs and the album has good production. That same year deck released his solo debut and although deck is a much better mc if you but the two albums against each other I would say ugods is the better listen.
I keep thinking what if Ugod had been a member of group home or something. I think he would be heralded as much greater mc. I could totally see him shining over those premier beats too

if ya counting affiliates Albums too, dont forget Sunz of Man - The last shall be first
Sour soul by GFK is note worthy. Heavy AF. 2015. Man I could listen to that album on repeat. The instrumental album is so soulful too. Worth a listen to on its own to see the masterful instrumentalism, production and sampling.
Came here to say the same thing. Class album.
Tical - 0 The Prequel is one of my all time favorite Wu solo albums despite the negative reception it got, love We Some Dogs, The Motto, The Prequel, The Turn, Rodeo, Who U Rollin Wit, Never Hold Back and Act Right
few years ago i was going back and forth with liquid swords or only built for cuban lynx as my favorite wu album... now its return to he 36 chambers for shure... 3 all produced by the rza one after another... to that time his style of beatmaking was so creative
Uncontrolled Substance by Inspectah Deck and Bobby Digital in Stereo by Rza have to be mentioned ahead of No Said Date.
Tical 2000: Judgement Day is grossly overlooked. Yeah sure it had WAY too many skits and was slightly overblown like a lot of Def Jam albums during the '98-01 era but it had some stellar songs and fantastic production from True Master ("Dangerous Grounds" and "Grid Iron Rap" are among some of my favorites), Erick Sermon, Poke and Tone from Trackmasters, Havoc of Mobb Deep, RZA (whose beats unfortunately didn't make it to most of the album causing it to get delayed), Method Man himself on the title track, and "Elements" which was handled by Inspectah Deck and utilized an eerie sample from Dionne Warwick's sister Dee Dee.
Supreme Clientele is on par with Illmatic.
Yes I said it, come at me.
that's just fact
ghettowinnebago that’s an opinion, what’s a fact is that Illmatic is the more groundbreaking and revolutionary album.
Shii, I think its better than illmatic
j h lul wut
j h Illmatic was one of the birthing conscious minded hiphop albums that displayed just straight double-syllable lyricism that was cantered around a narrative of the environment of a project. And not just one project - one the most prominently violent and dystopian of them all; queens bridge was no place to fuck around. Now talking about the production, it was one of the first tunes where super-producers such as DJ Premier, Pete Rock, large professor, Q-Tip, and LES we’re all working on. The instrumentals flipped what was imaginable with sampling with that trademark NY boom-bap style now riding at equal levels of prominence with the sample and instruments. Nas’s flow and style of rapping has gone down to influence artists such as Blu, Joey Badass, Logic, and many many others. Don’t be ignorant next time.
Love your vids. I think you should have included the album that Gza & DJ Muggs delivered though. "Grandmasters." DJ Muggs made an obvious effort to replicate Rza's style of production...and he succeeded with flying colors. Grandmasters was released at a time when Rza was not actively producing for Wu Tang members because he was too busy pursuing "Hollywood." With Rza unable/unwilling to help, Gza had to resort to working with another capable producer in order to make another great album in the vein of Liquid Swords. Grandmasters floored fans who were itching for that "lost" Wu Tang sound when it released. It was shocking and impressive that Muggs (Cypress Hill DJ & producer) filled Rza's shoes so successfully. Is it as good as Liquid Swords? No. But it's way better than many Wu Tang solo efforts. Next time you're in the mood for some Wu Tang, give that album a full spin. It's awesome.
Big thanks to the big melon🍉 🙏🙏. I haven’t checked out many of these and will be sure to do.
liquid swords hands down!
the fact that rza had all those first albums done lost 'em and had to remake 'em from scratch is a testament to his production skills.
killarmy- silent weapons was up there with these tho
I like to imagine that if Inspectah's project was not flooded it would be top 4 no doubt out of Wu Tang solos
Inspetah deck probably the most slept on wu member especially on the solo record front, uncontrolled substance is one of my favourite wu solo album's.

By Ghostface & BADBADNOTGOOD, so we are counting collab projects that are not true solo albums ? Noooo
@@cbfwebs Sour Soul can 100% be considered a solo album… he’s the only rapper… meaning he’s solo
@@siftwram The collaboration album with Canadian group BADBADNOTGOOD? No, that's a collaboration album with BADBADNOTGOOD. All those are collab albums, he hasn't had a true solo project since 2010's Apollo Kids, unless you count the out of nowhere Ghostface Killahs, but see wasn't that with just the one producer? But that's the only one that would be considered a solo project of his since 2010. He got distracted with all those collabs the last decade, sure some of them were dope, but that point still stands and is correct. When he left Def Jam in 2010, he took the pay advance for what he was working on and supposed to be releasing, Supreme Clientele Presents...Blue & Cream: The Wally Era, the sequel album he came up with following Cuban Linx II. But taking Def Jam's advance, he released his mixtape lead-in as an album to fulfill Def Jam's contract. Method Man did the same thing, released a prequel lead-in mixtape as an album without releasing their actual anticipated solo album. Hopefully they get their stuff together and release them, instead of more surprise left-feld albums or more collabs.
@@siftwram it doesn't matter if he is the only rapper, that doesn't necessarily qualify it as a solo album. On Sour Soul he is rapping over BADBADNOTGOOD's backing music. It is a collaboration between musicians + lyricist. His other collabs Twelve Reasons to Die 1&2 and 36 Seasons it was other people's visions and then they got him to rap on the projects. They are all collab albums.

Еще grandmasters с маггзом охуенный альбом
Beneath the Surface and Protools aren't GREAT albums. They're solid albums. Liquid Swords is GREAT. LIQUID SWORDS IS LIFE
Grandmasters is dope
In my view there's many Wu-Tang styles:
1 - 36th Chamber, Liquid Swords and ODB The Return to the 36th Chamber
2 - then you have; the Purple Tape and the Ironman; followed by the new Ghost-face style he brought from Africa in Sumpreme Clientele, etc...
3 - then you have the Wu Tang Clan post Wu Tang Forever and all the sharpened swordsmith mcs like INS, U-God (to me overslept) as well as Cappadonna that fits also in the Raekwon Gangstar Rap Wu Tang,
4 - RZA and GZA - Rhymes of Wisdom and Mind-bowing Methaphors
5 - not so lyricist but a good MC, and the "Quit Beatle" of the Clan, Mastah Killah
6 - and the Superstar of the Clan METHOD Man!
now you can bring Gravediggaz, Killarmy, Sunz of man...
liquid swords from the genius but I’m partial to only built 4 cuban linx because of the stories and ironman cuz raekwon and ghost are a crazy duo on the mic
Fantano lost me when he said "karate movies," but he got me back when he listed No Said Date. I swear I'm not a snob.
well hes a music nerd not a movies nerd
ANTHONY i dont know what it is but our periods must be in sync or something I was listening to a bunch of music and ended up on Liquid swords like 15 mins ago and then i was thinking, I wonder what the melon thinks about the wutang albums and influence
im also realllly high
Nice
My favorite is Supreme Clientele, Liquid Swords and Only Bulit for Cuban Linx
You basically gotta do all the first round classics and first debuts imho. Then go into later stuff. Rae's sequel, The Wild, Ghost's like at least 4 classic dope albums Ironman, SC, FishScale, we not counting his collab or concept projects, Pretty Toney and More Fish decent, original version of Bulletproof Wallets before Sony screwed it up, GZA's sophomore Wu effort Beneath the Surface, Deck's Resident Patient & Chamber no.9, U-God's debut & Dopium, Meth's Tical 1&2 plus 4:21, Masta's first 2 albums, Cappa's debut. RZA Bobby Digi 1&2 and Birth of a Prince.
