- The year is 2000 and Ghostface Killah is 4 years removed from releasing his debut album “Ironman” which was released in October of 1996. That album would peak at number two on the Billboard 200 chart selling 156,000 copies in its first week.
Before Supreme Clientele, Ghost would be going through a lot in his life including a near-death experience that led him to the country of Benin in Africa. This is where the early stages of Supreme Clientele were written and was the birth of what many consider to be one of the greatest rap albums of all time.

FACTS!
Was working at Best buy when this album came out. Best buy would get CDs like a week before they were supposed to release and we had to hold them in inventory. But we would open up a copy and listen to whatever we wanted so I got to listen to this extra early. We had a huge stereo in the warehouse and we were just blastn this for like a week straight. Classic

Been addicted to rap music for like 35 years. I get sick of everything. Illmatic, Ready to Die, Liquid Swords, you name it, I’ve had periods where I couldn’t listen to classics for a while because I had heard them too much.
Supreme Clientele is THE ONLY album, no matter how many times I’ve heard it, when it comes on, I get hype. “One” might be my favorite song of all time. Perfection.
That album is one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. This album made me say Ghost is one of my favorite rappers.
It’s crazy how this album didn’t go platinum😮
I'm in the Bay Area Cali. The day Supreme Clientele dropped we went to Berkeley got the tape bag full of 40oz's found a spot on the college grounds and played it the whole day. Got more 40s and went on listening till the sun went down. Classic album and I'll never forget that day

This album dropped when I was in art school in South Florida. Being from New Jersey me and a lot of the southern kids listened to different kinds of hip hop. But the crazy thing was We All listened to Supreme Clientele and enjoyed it. It’s really hard to pick a favorite track. ONE is the track I played the most on my own. BUCK 50 is the one that got everybody amped up at the dormitory.

I will never ever forget playing this CD on a road trip to Lisbon Portugal I didn’t play anything else the only music on rotation was “Supreme Clientele” even my kids learnt the lyrics. A pure Masterpiece on another level.

People slept on this album, I remember playing it, driving to go see ruff ryders cash money tour at Irvine Meadows in So Cal. Nobody really liked it, but it was my car so we listened to it😂I was 18, it was always a dope album, just different, then what people were used to. Dope album, Wu Banga 101 and one were in heavy rotation early on. Ironman is my favorite Wu album
Wise is on the Wu saga show season 2 episode 1. He held down Ghost and RZA when they were in Ohio. It really hurt Ghost when he found out he got murdered.
Yo Cappadonna is in the middle of the Ironman album cover, them 3 actually where perfect together , & Cap was all on that album.. then he went too prison, he will get out & go back, then again, this is why so many people do not know that much about Cappadonna, who is actually the 10th Official Wu tang Member,
Dope remaster. I wish that Wise song was on the standard album, didn't know tho that the one on streaming (from Hidden Darts) is different from the original, might download that since it's a really good song
My fav tracks from this album are Nutmeg, One, Wu Banga 101, Buck 50, Mighty Healthy, Apollo Kids, Stroke of Death, Malcolm and Saturday Nite. The whole album is fire no skips expect for the skits (none wrong with them I just usually skip skits after the first listen)
For me ‘One’ and ‘Wu-Banga’ are the best tracks.
Ghosts 2nd verse ‘One’ is still one of the best ever all time in my opinion.
As far as Wu-banga Mathematics make a dope ass beat while Ghosts last verse is hard. Saturday Night is another excellent track.

Most definitely all-time slept on album. pure classic. My dude put me on in high School. His aunt used to let us hold the Grand am. Playing that we made it back-to-back😅
It is a classic. Definitely slept on. This and the autobiography of Kirk Jones are probably the biggest slept on albums of all time in hip hop.
I used to think wu banga 101 was the best song. But "we made it" is just great! He sounds so confident in his music on this song. He can hear the smile on his face 🙂

After watching the Wutang series Deck got messed over. But I’m happy he’s got the Czarface catalog
So if Wu-Tang Forever sold 4 million copies, that actually means it sold 2 million copies. It's a Double LP so record sells are counted twice. It's the reason why Life After Death by Biggie Smalls, All Eyez on Me by 2Pac, and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below by Outkast are some of the few rap albums with 10+ million copies sold aka Diamond.
Ghost is the most original Wu ryme sayer. His cadence is straight up NY bboy. There are Ghost disciples out here today.
You need to talk about def jam vendetta. That's probably the best wrestling game ever and so many good rappers and songs on there. Including one song from supreme clientele

Wu Banga 101 will forever remain the most underrated rap/Wutang track EVER
I could break y'all hearts and tell y'all that someone from Far Rockaway wrote most of the verses. Notice how Ghost rapped on the 36 Chambers, and fast forward to his verse on the " Can it be" remix, how many ppl thought it was Nas when they first heard it? He got CONSIDERABLY better. Trust me when I tell you, he wrote most of the verses on Supreme Clientele, I wouldn't steer you wrong!

Ghost dehni is my favorite ghost song EVER
It was such a clean album compared to the grimey Ironman but this worked and it showed his versatility. I wasnt a fan of Ghost on Enter the 36 but in that purple i converted. Would have lived ti see more Ghost Rae and Cappa together. Cappadonna brought out the best in them.
Inspector Dec album was awesome and one of my favorites. I suggest listening to it
And, shout out Mighty Healthy, first heard it on a DJ Fantasy mixtape in DC 6 months before the album dropped

Supreme clientele us WAY better than the purple tape. I tried to play the Purple tape and couldn't listen to every song, but when I put in Supreme Clientele it was no problem, not to mention " The world can't touch Ghost purple tape/Rae co-host," that was his album.
