Every "review" of the 2019 monitors is just guys reading the spec sheet that you can find anywhere. Of course purchase links/discount codes included, it's literally just marketing videos. Nobody talks about actual color tests, contrast ratio measurements (many of the recent 144 Hz IPS panels have around 800:1 rather than 1000:1 as advertised), panel uniformity measurements and so on. A lot of people aren't even aware that most of the new 144 Hz IPS gaming monitors use the EXACT SAME PANEL made by LG Corporation (the nano-IPS one from the 27LG850) which has a pretty terrible contrast ratio even for IPS panels. It also doesn't do 1ms as advertised, only under ideal scenario's when that terrible ultra-fast mode is enabled that causes a ton of overshoot, which looks absolutely awful. Actual response times are closer to around 4ms average. That doesn't mean these monitors are bad or anything, but you have to be very careful with all this marketing speak since 99% of "reviews" is just guys reading spec sheets, the videos are just advertisement. Another monitor that uses the same LG panel is the ViewSonic XG270QG, the only difference being that it comes with the full G-SYNC module and can be OC'd to 165 Hz, but otherwise it uses the same LG panel with the same poor 800:1 contrast ratio. The LG850 is the same monitor but has no G-SYNC module so it has a more limited range (60-144 Hz) for adaptive sync. Finally keep in mind that not all variable refresh rate monitors have full range (1-144 Hz), usually only 60-144 Hz which means if your framerate falls outside of that range you may experience tearing/flickering. If you want full range you would need a monitor with the actual G-SYNC module, these monitors are significantly more expensive.
1.gl850 has 48-144hz like most freesync(gsync compitable monitors) and its has LFC(which means what you will get adaptive sync even below 48hz) so it is 1-144hz but I see what you dont have enough knowledge about VRR . gsync module real advantage is variable overdrive which reduce ghosting during adaptive sync usage (mostly at low refresh rates) but gl850 has same average response time even an lower refresh rates so its dont have any ghosting and its not have any disadvantage compare to gsync module monitors. 2. "Terrible" contrast ratio is 200 difference for you? in normal usage scenario(normal ambinet room light) its pretty much impossible to see difference in 800:1 and even 1100-1200:1 ips monitors ,and ips monitors have garbage contrast ratio anyway for "contrast guys" where are VA panels 3.Actual response times are at 3-4ms average in "fast" mode while some transactions are around 2-2.5ms without any overshoot ( its close to high end tn panels speeds). Not a single tn panel can reach average 1ms response time and most off them are 2-3ms and you stll expect 1ms from ips? GL850 has more when enough response time for 144hz monitor. Yes LG say what it has 1ms and tn monitor manufacturers do same but neither of them has real 1ms.You get ips panel whit tn speed and you still no satisfaied omg

This is an ad, not a review. Theres No testing of response times or colour. No mentioning of the fact that hdr400 is a useless spec, at this brightness its basically just a saturation switch, i could go on. Go watch a hardware unboxed monitor review and then go redo this.
It's not "95% colour accurate". It's has 95% colour gamut coverage, which has nothing to do with colour accuracy. In fact it makes colours look oversaturated.
Color accuracy is meassured with delta E. You can't represent it with a single number. 95% DCI-P3 means that the monitor can show 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut colors. It doesn't mean it does it accurately. You can have a monitor that can reproduce trillions of colors but has terrible delta E and thus not color accurate.
I'm not sure where this information is from, the information presented in this video is not the same as I got directly from BENQ, I even triple checked. Good video, but the information is not the same as BENQ gives for this exact same monitor.
How do you like yours so far? I bought it at same price as well on Amazon black friday deal, but i also have the VG27AQ from Asus and tend to prefer the asus model better for the response time and ELMB feature.
hi i think you made a mistake .. you claim this monitor is using the 1ms panel from lg but the benq is rated for 95% dci-p3 and the lg panel has actually 98% dci-p3 so i doubt its the same panel, i cant find anywhere that this monitor is using the 1ms panel if you could link me some proof that would be awesome thanks
A $500 monitor should have a much better stand. They should have removed the speakers and put a better stand on this. They also should have offered it for around $399-499, and it would be a must buy.
I agree with the price but they should keep the speakers as they included Vesa mount so you can buy a mount and having external speakers make the setup messier but the wall mount is 99% of the time hidden so I prefer it like this personally but if that’s what you prefer and you think this is a major downside there are a ton of other monitors out there and one of them will have the stuff you want

Anita Parmar its pretty good buddy , Very satisfied , Viewing angles , Gaming , Refresh rate and sound , All are amzing - the cost is bit on higher side though

I have an hearing condition that makes me very sensitive to sound, and gaming with a headset is just a little too much, but I am usually fine with speakers... so that this one has them built in is massive for me... currently going for around £300 so I am tempted very much.

I have an Acer xv273k (4K 120hz) and a viotek gft27db (1440p 144hz tn), was looking at the benq xl2740 (1080p 240hz), but this is an interesting option, and both around the same price. Cheaper option on a 240hz monitor is the alienware that is around $300. To me fps games are pointless to play on resolutions above 1080. Yes this monitor does check a bunch of boxes though. Depends, play on only gaming with it? If your worried about performance...dont. I ran on this panel for weeks. Crazy how much better colors and contrast affects the gaming experience and interaction.
Why do the colors look overly saturated and yucky. Also some actual consumers complained about HDR not working properly and resulting in a yellow tinge to whole screen and excessive screen dimming. Is this only for gaming or editing too?
I have this monitor and its great value considering everything you get but the hdr is below average. Only the the standard mode (no hdr) and the game mode are good to use as the other hadr modes are too dark and loose detail in the shadows whilst applying an orange tint over the highlights. The screen does have dimming issues in hdr mode but if your using it for xbox you can calibrate the hdr on the xbox setting to get it to look decent enough for most people.
Really depends on what you need. Do you actually use 1440p? Do you need speakers? Do you need the monitor to be able to tilt, pivot, and possibly even tilt? This monitor is 1440p, has speakers, and the tilt & pivot is pretty poor. For me, I wanted speakers which is why I got this. But maybe you have a 1080p GPU or you need better tilt, pivot, & possibly even swivel... then this monitor is not for you. There's more actually-legit monitor reviews on Hardware Unboxed.

The response time isn't 1ms, It's 5ms. Not that it matters cuz there basically isn't any difference. Just get your facts straight.

Why do the colors look overly saturated and yucky. Also some actual consumers complained about HDR not working properly and resulting in a yellow tinge to whole screen and excessive screen dimming. Is this only for gaming or editing too?
I have this monitor and its great value considering everything you get but the hdr is below average. Only the the standard mode (no hdr) and the game mode are good to use as the other hadr modes are too dark and loose detail in the shadows whilst applying an orange tint over the highlights. The screen does have dimming issues in hdr mode but if your using it for xbox you can calibrate the hdr on the xbox setting to get it to look decent enough for most people.

Really depends on what you need. Do you actually use 1440p? Do you need speakers? Do you need the monitor to be able to tilt, pivot, and possibly even tilt?
This monitor is 1440p, has speakers, and the tilt & pivot is pretty poor.
For me, I wanted speakers which is why I got this. But maybe you have a 1080p GPU or you need better tilt, pivot, & possibly even swivel... then this monitor is not for you.

QHD is 1440p whilst FHD is 1080p and UHD is 4k
FHD means Full HD and its 1920x1080 or 1080p
QHD means Quad HD and its 2560x1440 or 1440p
UHD means Ultra HD and its 3840x2560 or 4K

As far as I understand. This Monitor officially comes with AMD FreeSync but it can also support G-Sync if you have appropriate NVIDIA Graphics Card.
