  • This video shows you how to set up low flight battery telemetry warnings on your radio in EdgeTX. To do this the flight controller will need the facility to send main battery voltage to your receiver and you have discovered the telemetry sensors in your model settings of your radio.
    Thanks for watching.
    Happy Flying.

    I’m trying to bind a R88 receiver by Radiomaster ! I don’t c it in the menu! Lol thanks for your time! You have been a big help!!!!

    • @the-happy-RC-flyer
      @the-happy-RC-flyer  Год назад +1

      Hi Dale, The binding procedure is:
      Hold down the bind button on your receiver and plug in the power.
      Go to radio click bind.
      Once bound disconnect power from receiver.
      Reconnect power to receiver you should be bound.
      FrSky Receivers:
      If you receive is the ACCESS protocol it will not bind to your multi protocol module. It needs to be ACCST but it can use v1 or v2 firmware and there is no way to tell what your FrSky receiver firmware version is, FrSky do not make it easy.
      In.your radio select Type FrSky X subtype D8.
      Let me know how you get on.

    Hi and thanks for posting very useful tutorials, great work! New to TX16S and trying to setup a voltage alarm for flight battery. Receiver is FrSky S8R which should have a built-in battery voltage sensor (according to specs). However, we're not seeing the same list as yours when selecting the V1 column in the Logical Switches in Companion. Any ideas where we should start troubleshooting? Thanks again!

    • @the-happy-RC-flyer

      Hi, I think you will need to buy a FrSky voltage sensor. It appears the receiver has RxBat which will only show the receiver voltage which should be 5v.

      Hi Mark, you can use a physical switch to activate the logical switch.

    hello Bill,
    The function you use in your vid doesn’t appear in my TX16S as mentioned in my initial message. I use the built-in function ‘Batt’ (in the TX) as value for V1. My EdgeTX version is v. 2.9.2 ‘Providence’ from 2023-11-12.
    This might be useful for other readers ?
    Nevertheless your vid was helpful for me to understand how edgeTX works as am the bloody beginner here. So far thanks for it. 👍😊
    Regards. Prudence

    • @the-happy-RC-flyer
      @the-happy-RC-flyer  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Prudence, the video shows how to set up this function but you will need a receiver capable of receiving the battery voltage which is much higher than 5v and the telemetry sensor to do the job. So that’s a hardware requirement. Sounds, if you cannot find the sounds I use in my videos then they are custom sounds I have made.

      hi Bill,
      That’s all clear! My RX returns the voltage and the sound isn’t the main issue. But the function you’re using isn’t available; At least in my TX16S which is quite recent (December). I downloaded the companion a few days ago. Have tried another function which I’ll test this afternoon. Regards. Prudence

    +1👍Oscar Liang website has some further settings/details for avoiding false or unneeded readings.
    personally i dont go that far, but i set set if/then logic for above a small voltage so that i don't get 0 volts readings.
    what i'd love to do but have not yet, is set logic for my ELRS where it understands my 1S setups versus my 6S setups and reports properly.

      I'm trying to have my radio give a more accurate read out of the flight batt.
      Right now a fresh battery is read as 82% and at 20% my batteries are actually at 12-13%

    Hello Bill. Thanks for your very helpful videos. Here is my question: is it possible to get a visual percentage of the flight battery on the home screen? Telemetry comes in on A3 and I can view that on the screen, but I would love to be able to look down and see that I am at 60% remaining. I can do it for the Tx battery, but not the plane battery.
    Thanks,
    Paul

      @@the-happy-RC-flyer hi Bill, thanks for the quick reply. Radiomaster tx16s using a 3s flight battery in one plane and a 4s in another plane. The max and min values don’t allow for decimal points so the percentage is not accurate enough.

      Hi Paul, you can put a decimal point I do in the video. I assume you have two models set up one for each plane so you can set up the warnings for the two different voltage batteries. Looking down at your radio while flying is not recommended so the audible warnings are ideal.

      If there is a + after the sensor this will show the highest value the sensor reached. - after the sensor value will show the lowest value the sensor reached. No + or- is the current value which can / will fluctuate. This is useful for RSSI radio link so you can see the lowest RSSI value for the flight or the highest. Any further help let me know.
