I Made This RUSTIC FARMHOUSE DINING TABLE from a DOOR!

- We recently moved into our new home and now we need furniture. I wanted to build as much of the furniture as I could so everything matches the rest of the house and trim. With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, we needed a new dining table that seats six people. The cost of furniture has become almost unaffordable, and the quality is sub-par at best, so I managed to build a custom farmhouse dining table with leftover materials and an unused door slab. We absolutely love the result of this unique, one-of-a-kind piece, and it matches all of our interior doors!

You do excellent craftmanship with your furniture building. Better construction than one you could purchase at a furniture store. Beautiful too. This furniture will last unlike the particle board furniture that is sold today.
I can't help but think how your children will inherit wonderfully built furniture. Something that will last generations with a story behind it. That is something you can never buy from a furniture store.
Truth
The table is not only gorgeous, but I love that you made it out of what you already had on hand. Nice work - you have some mad skillz there.
with my 33 years of being in the furniture industry, you did an excleent job!!! Love IT!!!!!
Thanks! 😊
Your woodworking is like my cooking. Extraordinary results with ordinary ingredients. I say, use what you have so you have what you need.
Jeremy! You are so talented! I love everything you have built and how meticulous you are in everything! You are building things that will last decades! Kudos to you!
Thanks!
I love your inspirational idea of using a door for your dining tabletop. Fifty years ago, I purchased a 60" round drop leaf pine table which served our family very well. Since all my children's families are in homes of their own, I have wanted to replace the large round tabletop with a rectangular one, which would reduce the floorspace needed with the six chairs around. Your beautifully built tabletop is very much what I had envisioned; so, now I only have to find a local craftsman who could build me something very similar. Thank you for sharing your wonderful skills and ideas with us. Your entire home is gorgeous.
Wow that turned out beautifully and better than what you buy in stores these days.
Beautiful table. You’re very talented!
That was a georgious table . I never thought of a door .
It's been years since I checked in on you two. Wow! what a beautiful home. I wish you two nothing but the best in the future, whatever that future holds.
This makes me want to get back into woodworking, even with allergies!!
Wahooo!! Outstanding work! I LOVED IT! I think it so important to look at things and appreciate their original intent and the beauty of it but...a door that can't be used as a door anymore is screaming "I can be more!" You hear the voice of the material... that's the key! A Starbucks we were going to decided to move 300 yards to the street side in a lot to make room for drive thru capability. We happened to be there when the garbage bins had just been filled with the "old" material. Of which they threw away the solid oak topped little tables😳... of course...I said...no no no... that's not trash, that's my new center island top!! So 4 of those tables tops became part of an island top for our kitchen. I mean, most of us don't need 3 1/2 ft squared tables to sit at... but we wanted an island and wanted solid wood to do litchenburg burns and epoxy designs on. It turned out gorgeous. Just like that there memory making table! A thing of beauty! Smiles and blessings...
One thing that's great about hand built anything, it always comes with a story, and will always be cherished by those that love you! I really enjoy the channel, and have enjoyed watching yawls journey these last several years. Cheers from Upstate SC.
Man, that table turned out awesome! You aren't kidding about today's furniture quality being sub-par at best! I bought a head board for my king sized bed recently and paid quite the kings ransom too. It weighs hardly anything and feels like it was put together with particle board cut offs and staples. I love your idea of matching everything you build to the house and trim!! Can't wait to see you and the family enjoying dinner from that table! Be well sir!
One word: Amazing!
The table is gorgeous! May you create many wonderful memories around it!
Standby by! Craftsman at work! Very nice sir!
You are so talented ! You really did a beautiful job on that table.
Thanks, it was a fun build.
That turned out fantastic! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! See ya next time.
Thanks! You too!
Love the beginning where you enter in a star trek like move out of empty air! Your workmanship is so good (especially since your don't' consider yourself a craftsman!) Thanks for another great video. Beautiful work!
The table is beautiful but I am just amazed at how fast you did those chairs 😆
Jeremy you really are a very talented man with woodworking. Table is beautiful! Great video. Thanks
Beautiful wood grain and color. Great job on the table.
Genius and absolutely beautiful with a wonderful back-story of what it was built from!
Jeremy, you never disappoint. What a lovely table. I love heavy furniture (well, except when it's time to mop or vacuum LOL). Great example of using left overs. I sure wish I had all the tools you do. Thanks again for posting!!
Thanks so much!
Perfect idea, my friend. Using the door sounds like a work smarter, not harder plan (but, heck, it's all been hard, hasn't it?). Always an impressive job, Jeremy. Give my best to your beautiful wife! ~Cynthia
I shall. Thanks!
Omgoodness Jeremy, that table is awesome. Great job as usual. 🇨🇦
I really like your furniture videos! Just the right amount of detail in them so this beginner can understand what you are doing!!!
Awesome
WOW! that's BEAUTIFUL!! better than what u see at the furniture stores..
We agree!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Amazing! Your house is being furnished with love. And a lot of hard work. That table is beautiful!
An absolutely beautiful table, Jeremy!! My husband made us a dining table from a solid core door (it weighs a TON! 😵), but it is no where near as gorgeous as the one you just finished. You are a genius with recycling random pieces of wood to create beautiful pieces of furniture Thanksgiving dinner will be a very special celebration with this table as its foundation. Thanks for sharing your latest project...and, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you, Jamie and the girls. 🙂💖
Wow the table looks great and you did a great job making it.
The color is so beautiful. You have an eye for that.
Jeremy, Jeremy, Jeremy... That is one awesome dinning table. You did a fantastic job repurposing that door, thank you, this was a fun video. Happy Thanksgiving to you & Jaimie and your family.
So glad you are in the new house. The table is beautiful.
This video came just at a great time for me. I am about to put a new top on an old table. So, thanks.
Beautiful. Bravo!!! The whole house is just gorgeous. Pop ya colla, Jeremy. 🙂
Jeremy, dude you can be a furniture maker on the side if you ever need a couple of bucks
Awesome harvest table Jeremy 👏
Great Job. A harvest table is perfect for the home. Most people would have gone out and purchased a table that would cost a couple thousand dollars (or more). You did it with materials that would have sat for years. Way to show people they can use their imagination and create something beautiful. One thing more you might consider is to place skids on the bottoms of the posts so that movement won't mar your floors.
I did put felt pads on the legs
Truly amazing! It turned out beautiful
Absolutely beautiful work Jeremy !!
Thank you very much!
Fabulous job, you're going to enjoy your meals much more since you made the table. It gets me excited at the possibilities.
Yes! Thank you!
Awesome teacher and perfection craftmansship !!!!

Thanks so much!
What a beautiful table!
Great Job, very impressed with your skills, not only looks good, but must have saved a lot of dollars over a store bought.
What I would pay to have just a fraction of your knowledge and talent...

Talk about thinking outside the box! What an ingenious way to use something for a different purpose than its original intent. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Keep up the wonderful woodworking and keep those creative juices flowing.

Thank you
Fabulous table!
If you have another door remaining, a large coffee table would be beautiful…
And then if you wind up with grandkids in the future, you can make some kiddie chairs and use it for the kiddie table on holidays!
I actually have fond memories of gatherings with all us kids sitting together…no boring adults, lol
Mad skills! Blessed holidays in your new home!
Brilliant idea!
Wow, you never cease to amaze me!! That is one of the most beautiful tables I have ever seen. Heirloom magic!
Wow, thank you! 🙂
Just beautiful!!!! ❤
Another great furniture build, Jeremy… it turned out beautiful. ❤💕 Hope you and Jaime have a wonderful Thanksgiving.. ☺
Thank you! You too!
I recommend to anyone who can build their own furniture to do so. Excluding your time, it is less expensive to build your own and you will have a better quality piece of furniture that should last a lifetime. (Manufactured furniture isn't made to last very long anymore.) A year ago we had purchased new furniture from a large furniture store that does business all across the country. It was advertised as solid wood and we went with it because we thought it was nicer than some of the store's cheaper furniture, but the tag on the back talked about wood fiber and industrial particleboard. I'm not sure what it is but there were a lot of problems with most of the pieces and the company wiggled their way out of warranting most of the pieces which apparently their biggest complaint. We basically spent almost $10,000 on junk. My husband did build the bed frames and is going to do the rest of the pieces we need. Then he is going to have to repair 8 of the 12 pieces we bought and three of them are going to be near impossible to repair if they are not solid wood and cannot be sanded and re-stained. Also, look into maybe using shellac instead of polyurethane as polyurethane most likely will yellow over time.
Love it!!! Another great project that turned out awesome, Jeremy...per usual 😉 Can't buy that at a furniture store.
Beautiful job!!
This is freaking awesome... Definitely gonna try this once we get moved in...
so beautiful!
'Rigged up a big jig' hahaha you always crack me up
