I built the first rustic farmhouse bedside table for the farmhouse bed with drawers that I previously built in this video: • GORGEOUS! Building a R...
Using only the cut-offs and scraps from the door and window trim I've been installing, I designed this night stand to fit under the window as a bedside table. It has a soft close drawer and a bottom shelf all made from scrap 1x6 southern yellow pine boards. The taple top is a breadboard style panel and the whole project is assembled with only pocket hole joinery. The only glue I used was to assemble the drawer box. It turned out nice and now I'll be able to build the matching table more efficiently.

That's a really good idea - 1) unique bedside cabinet, 2) far more sturdy than anything you could buy in the shop, 3) the design is all yours - i.e. you get what meets YOUR requirements, 4) it's wood, you can always sand it, repaint it, carve it, inlay it, stick a glass plate on top, add another drawer and 5) you saved yourself money. I really like it!
Have you considered doing some for your daughters so they can decoupage it with their favourite motifs?

The end product is very nice and matches the bed frame you made.
You are also an easy "teacher" to follow and understand.
    Good use of scrap material!

You are doing an amazing job. The work you have done through out this build has just been a wonder. I just can't believe all the skills you have learned and become a master at, You are not afraid to jump in and do it.. Love to see what all you have done. Hope Jamie is doing well and following her dreams.

    Wow, very inspiring.
I think that end table would sell in a store for at least 500

I really love watching you build all the furniture for your home - it makes it so personal to you, and so very unique, too!
The bedside table was well worth the wait!
I'm looking forwards to seeing your next project now :)

You should put some small little hidden drawers in the legs. That would be cool . For earrings. Change and such

The trim looks so good! Brings everything together quite nicely. I love the night stand! It's quite possible for you to make a go of custom furniture even at today's costs. I am looking so forward to the pantry situation. One step closer to canning your own food again.

Quick assembly now that you’ve built 1! I would as many more as I had wood for with any scraps left after u make the side tables for living rm.
They are simple but rustic; would sell easily at a nice price I think.

Nice furniture build! Are you amazing yourself with all these skills you're developing? Really, it's incredible how much nicer this furniture is than what you would find in a store..and for a fraction of what you would pay! Really looking forward to seeing more furniture videos. Hope you're enjoying your new digs!

I enjoyed this build, of the side table. I've only had used Ryobi cordless tools for carpentry my father inlaw got me I used and noticed they aren't the best and I've been seeing kolbolt tools are they better then Ryobi. I'm not a carpenter by trade I'm a diesel mechanic and gunsmith by trade. DeWalt is expensive and other tools can be expensive would kolbolt be inexpensive for carpentry as a hobby?
