CUSTOM BUMPER AND EXHAUST BUILD! CHEAP BUDGET F100 CROWN VIC SWAP!

- Next project on the channel that is really exciting for us, 1959 Ford F100 Long bed and 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor chassis swap. In this video, we use eBay mandrel bent exhaust tubing to build a custom exhaust with Flowmaster FX muffler. We use v-bands and bellow style flex couplers to round out our side exit race car inspired exhaust system. Also, in this video we were able to reuse the original front bumper off the F100 with some custom brackets and ingenuity. Thanks to some comments from viewers we used a 57 Chevy Apache back bumper that fit the body lines perfectly with some modifications we created bumperettes to create a split bumper effect. This series of videos will highlight how to do this conversion as simple and cost effective as possible. We are shooting for $2000 initial budget to have a running driving shop truck. In the future, we will make improvements after we enjoy it for awhile. Also, you know me, this is staying patina!

Im gonna keep commenting until the algorithm recognizes quality videos!! Thumbs up dude! Love the truck!!
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
Good plan! I’ve been anticipating this next video.
@@DomkeBoy thank you!
Bumper looks good, lovn' the truck!!!
Thank you!! It's coming together!
@@BestDamnShopAround 👍👍
I like the way the rear bumper turned out.
Thank you! I actually surprised myself in how well it turned out haha
The 2nd u showed the bumper that second I knew what to do so when u said that's what your doing I said "perfect". Couldn't be better.! Great job
Great minds think alike! Thank you!
Its been awsome watching this project come together.
Thank you! It's been a ton of work but it's coming together!
Man! That's one helluva old pencil you got there! "West Building Supply" they've been gone quite a while now!
Nice work!
You're right! I totally forgot to mention I found it in the cab corner of this truck! Thank you for the support!
…that burnout though…🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Gotta make sure it burns out haha Thank you! 👍
Where the holes in the bumper end by the licence plate put licence plate light and back up lights! looks good young man!
Good Idea! Thank you!
I really like your style of fabication! One of my favorite RUclips channels. Thanks
Thank you for the support!
Diggin’ the exhaust! I’ve done 3 custom exhaust on old trucks (a new video posting this week in fact), but mine are very conservative dual exhaust dump in front of the wheels style. I want to build a rat rod one day and take more creative liberties. I’m watching, learning and being entertained. Keep up the amazing work! 🙌🏼
Thank you for tagging along! I'm a big fan of dual exhaust as well, but on this one I wanted to try something different! With the body being kind of rough I didn't feel so bad about cutting a hole in the bedside haha
Good eye making that bumper work. Awesome idea to split it.
Thank you! It was a long shot but turned out cooler than I imagine haha
what a cool idea on that rear bumper. nice job.
Thank you!
The bumper is doooooooope!
Thank you!
I'm hitting the subscribe button after I make this comment...great idea for the rear bumper, like a split 73 camaro front bumper and turning it upside down to match body lines, love this truck and your fabrication work...keep the videos coming...Dave/WBA
Thank you for the subscription and support!
I like the rear bumper
Thank you!
Yep that’s a cool rear bumper!!! Good job Awesome build!!
Thank you for the support!
Coke and aluminum foil cleans chrome amazingly.
I'll have to try that!
@@BestDamnShopAround you won't be disappointed.
@@MrTwinklypig thanks for the idea!
Love the rear bumper, great idea
Thank you!
Truck is badazz, diggn it.
Thank you!
Make a false gas cap with a shop towel hanging out of it , then find some old barn wood for the inside of the bed
You read my mind! I'm working on both of those ideas this week!
The truck is turning out awesome! I love the side exit exhaust!
Thank you! Got the idea from a buddy 😉
Loooks good Bud keep hammering!
Will do! Thank you!
Ever think about doing a patina paint job on your bumpers? I'm in the middle of a build, I'm putting 62 Chevy truck cab and step-side bed on a 81 Olds Delta 88 Frame with the original old's 307 and 4 speed automatic trans. I'm using the front bumper of a 75 Malibu as the back bumper so I can put the tail lights, turn signals and brake lights in the slot where the original front turn signals went for clean look in the back and the front bumper is the front bumper of a 74 Camaro because the curve is an almost exact fit of the tractor grill I'm using as the grill of the truck. I also chopped the A pillar a half inch to rake the front of the cab. those "Task Force" Chevy's looked raked in the front from the factory and that 1/2 makes it look completely custom and wild, like something Winfield, Barris or Big Daddy Ed Roth would have done. On an Unrelated note..... anyone ever tell you that you , look alot like Cash Wheeler? If you trimed up your beard you could be his Doppleganger.
Sounds like a pretty cool build you've got going! Never tried to patina bumpers but I imagine it would be similar to everything else!
@@BestDamnShopAround yeah pretty much, I think I'm going to try it on this build, I'm not a "chrome" guy so I usually paint my bumpers anyway.
The real bumper ets are bad ass!!
Thank you!
Yes indeed nice
Thank you!
love this truck, those are bumperetts on the back, side pipes are good ,had the same on my ozzy falcon ute, they also have bumperetts on the back of their ute (pickup)and panelvans too.........peace
Very cool,i love falcons! Thank you!
Bumpers are absolutely perfect. It looks like it came that way from the factory
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing!
I really dig both the exhaust and the rear bumperettes! Not to be a Karen here, but PLEASE start using eye protection! Any time you cut or sand anything beyond paper, eye protection is such a good idea. It only takes one flying piece of hot metal or aluminum in your eyes to learn the lesson. No doubt young guys will watch these (excellent) videos and setting the right example is always the right thing to do. Back to the compliments: the truck sits PERFECTLY and the sound is fantastic. Im learning some things to apply to my 66!
I really appreciate the support and concern! You're absolutely correct, safety is the number one priority but sometimes I get in a hurry, not a good example to be setting!
@@BestDamnShopAround hey you're doing fantastic work and not trying to be a downer. The truck is super cool and when you decide to sell it on I suspect you'll make some dough for all the effort!
@@Thingswithwheels1 didn't think you were a downer, I appreciate constructive criticism! Trying to make this channel and community better! I've already been offered some pretty good money, going to drive it for a little while first though!
You can use the front edge of a file (1" wide) to scrape down the pitts on that chrome bumper that destroys the steel wool.
That's a great idea!
🤘🏻🤘🏻 bad ass
Thank you!
I was about to jokingly post on your last video asking "Where you at?!" and then was notified of this video lol Truck looks great man!
Hahaha Thank you! I went out of town for a couple of days last week and it threw me off! We're back on schedule now!
@@BestDamnShopAround loving the build man. Did you get the old Kansas tag, hanging on your wall off of a vehicle?
@@weekendwarriorpowersports honestly I can't remember, I collect antique tags as a hobby and it might have come in a trade. You from Kansas?
@@BestDamnShopAround yeah, KC area. The BU is Butler County, Ks.
@@weekendwarriorpowersports that's cool! Learn something new every day!
First off, love what you've done!!!!
Second, there's two things I'd add to it, about a 6-7" aluminum spoiler on the tailgate and bed, second, cut the front bumper below the body line and add a front spoiler and make it a tad bit lower than the bottom of the doors and bed. That would give an awesome side profile and lend the look to a racier look!!!
There's some good ideas! I'll have to put those on the list for version 2.0! Thank you for the support!
Really like the rear bumper repurposing. Wish the Apache bumper(s) weren't quite so curved against the flat body. But when viewed overall, it looks legit. Really creative thinking there. Very cool. 👍
I too wish they were straighter, even though about welding a piece on top to create a straight line, but it works well for this build! Thank you for the support!
Hey on the exhaust bezel round both ends and not go all the way to bottom of bed! Just my preference!
Good idea!
Hey you could do a machined look on the bezel !
I didn't think about that! Nice!
So..... Your going to be at the streetrod Nationals??? I'll have to look for ya. I'll be in the chicken Eaters car club tent. I'll be in the squarebody thats my thumbnail picture.
I'll have to look for it!
🤙
I know that you are a Miller guy. What type of Mig welder would you recommend, that doesn't break the bank. Truck is coming together! Thanks. Pennsylvania
Thanks! You're right, I'm partial to Miller's but there are a lot of great machines out there. I always suggest buy more welder than you think you need. I'm not up on the current model numbers but the new version of My machine is great! Look for the one that does 110 and 220 power. That gives you the versatility to weld sheet metal all the way up to 3\8 plate and you could use it anywhere that has 110 or 220 service!
Great! Keep up the good work! I like to watch your videos over my lunch break. Thank you.
@@ryansmith2845 that's awesome! Thank you for the support and subscription!
Hey brother where at in Alabama are you?
We're in Gainesville Georgia. The truck is from Alabama.
@@BestDamnShopAround ah okay cool. I’m in north central Alabama.
@@rdspeedfab nice! There's still some cool stuff hiding out there!
"Promo sm" 🏃
👍
You cannot build a hot rod without dual exhaust. Very disappointed
Trying something different, worse case I can always change it!
It does look really awesome just wish it was on both sides
@@johnkendrick7304 i totally understand! I love doing exhaust so it most likely will get duals at some point! Another reason I did it this way was budget, half the pipe and only one muffler!
