Star Wars Battlefront Classic 1 and 2 retrospective and review. What makes the original old Star Wars Battlefront games so amazing? SWBF classic and Star wars Battlefront 2, 2004 and 2005 respectively, have a lot going on in their games that made these instant classics in the video game industry and for the Star Wars fanbase. Classic Star Wars Battlefront gameplay in the early 2000s was developed by Pandemic Studios and are some of the most iconic Star Wars video games of all time.

Battlefront II's campaign was also elevated by the addition of Temuera Morrison. Getting the actual voice of the clone troopers really lent weight to the Journal of the 501st. I still remember his logs on from the Felucia campaign or the attack on the Temple.

Hearing the clones pov on the war was a nice touch. Like you could just feel how heavy the war was to them, especially near the end. Like they knew what they were about to do at the temple was bad, they knew that backstabbing the jedi commanders they’ve fought alongside with for years would haunt them. Did they speak up? No. Every dead jedi, the ride to and from the destroyed temple, no one spoke. Because in the end, they were just soldiers following orders.

"It was a good we were wearing helmets, because none of use could bear to look her in the eye." Or after you get off of Mygeeto. "If they could be fooled, they could be killed." You were in the movie locations, you looked like the guys from the movie, and you did stuff in the movies. It's one of my favorite games ever made. Gotta say though galactic conquests one fault was far too many space battles. The enemy AIs constant spawning of a capital ship next to yours whenever you’re moving to their system made for way too much repetition. I honestly don’t know why nobody talks about it, it really made for such monotony to spend well over half the game time in space, especially since they’re always the same

Yeah man, I really feel bad for the youngsters coming up nowadays. The late 90's into the mid-late 00's was the golden age of gaming. Obviously good games have, and will always be made, but that era was something else. Kotor, Halo, battlefront, Morrowind, Vice City & San Andreas, Fable, Burnout... Games back then were created as a passion project, not as a shareholders return on investment. There were no microtransactions, there were no battlepacks or subscriptions, there were no cosmetics markets or pay-to win, or loot crates or shark cards, or DLC's.. it was all just about making a good game that people wanted to play. Developers were trying to earn their customers, not just greedily expecting them to consume slop, then chastising them when they speak up.

The AI in BF1 is better than in BF2, to be honest. For example, in BF2 enemies are obsessed with you, they focus entirely on you even if there are enemies next to them and you are far away. And they suicide with grenades a lot more. BF2 also doesn't have going prone and concussion grenades, those were good against vehicles in the first one, plus some of the maps are worse (e.g. Geonosis). And, in my opinion, the gunplay was a bit better in BF1. You are absolutely right about Galactic Conquest in BF2, though.

It's the definition of pure AWESOME and FUN gameplay that won't let you put down the controller. If I had that experience today as an adult I still wouldn't put it down. I'd take a new Battlefront game as a RTS like old C&C (RA or KW) or even like Halo Wars, at this rate because I miss Galactic Conquest so much. Heck implement the mechanic from BO2 Strike Missions where you can control from tac-view or on the ground and I'd be fairly happy, especially if dlc shit is kept to a minimum. Throw in a good rewarding grind with rewards like alternate skins or voice lines. Put something like the Challenge Cards from Alien: Fireteam Elite to give a bit of more challenge and replay-ability, like : Completing this mission you'll get 2500xp, +2k Credits and a Autocannon bonus, but Bacta-tanks and "Enforcers" (SBD's, Cl-Co's, Magna-Gs and Imp-Offi) are disabled.

So a little fact on SW:BF1(2004) you can kill heroes, they were just very hard to do. Making matters worse immune to blaster fire as they would just reflect it back to hit you, and their melee attack was a one hit kill too. However grenades can damage them and knock them around. Best is with a grenade launcher class like the rebel Wookie or the empire Dark Trooper. When they die they drop their lightsaber and take a kneeling position then fade away. They do respawn however so they don't stay dead. You can see how many times they died in the score screen at the end of the match. I think the record we had at one time was 4.
