    Very nice! Great job! It's good to mention that any assigments in Controls > Power management > Throttle should be cleared ;)

    Recently bought Spad.next in anticipation of my sim build. Wanted to get familiar with a program that would allow me expansion control throughout the build. Glad to have found your vids. Havent started setting up spad yet, but Im sure I will be overloaded very soon.

      @@LesOReilly ….do you have a recommendation on where best to start? I have several hundred hours in MSFS flying airliners (fenix a320 and pmdg 737), and have setup within the sim several different controllers. Should I start with a video on setting up something specific like the Thrustmaster Airbus quadrant?

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  6 месяцев назад

      The “new user” videos are designed to help get started with spad and understand the application and “workflow”. Then yes there are videos specific to the 737 which are helpful for setting up “types” of control.
      The features section has videos that target certain features / implementations.

    Hey Les, I just started using spad.next and loving it!!! Thanks for the work Les. I just saw this video on RUclips It was super informational!! Thanks again Les. Im running two Saitek throttle quadrants, so I’m using lever 1 for spoilers, lever 2 is not used, lever 3 is throttle 1 lever 4 throttle 2 lever 5 is not used and lever 6 is flaps. Watching that video I can use the buttons after the idle position on lever 2 and 5 and then use the throttle 1 and 2 levers (saitek levers 3 and 4) for the reverses, but I can’t use the buttons after the idle position on lever 3 and 4 and use the axis on saitek levers 2 and 5. Hope I am explaining myself. Thanks for the help again!!!

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  5 месяцев назад

      nope don't understand what your trying to do with the other buttons.. make sure you don't have anything still mapped in MSFS bindings .. and also maybe join the spad discord and post screen shots of your configuration and what your trying to achieve.

    • @hova81
      @hova81 5 месяцев назад

      In other words, I want to use two different axis other than the throttle axis to control reverses. Thanks again

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  5 месяцев назад

      @hova81 sure just use the buttons to write the var value you like and use that as the condition for the lever. Instead of putting them on the same lever still use conditions just on the other levers.

  • @tyler000ism
    @tyler000ism 10 месяцев назад +1

    Great video as always Les. Many Thanks. One question - could you not use the reverser button directly i.e. not have to create local variables?

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  10 месяцев назад +2

      You can and specifically for this that would be fine.. However if I ever want to reference the same "state" on another controller then you have to change to a Variable... I just am now in a habit of creating the Local Variables for any kind of state conditions.. Just gives me a consistent implementation.

    Hello Les, I am a huge fan of all your SPAD work and over the years have learned so much from your excellent videos. I carefully followed the steps in this video which made short work of setting up the throttles and thrust reverse on the PMDG 737-800. I was very happy with initial tests conducted with the aircraft stationery on the ground. However, I have found that in a typical after-landing scenario, the right thrust reverser sometimes fail to activate. Note, both thrust levers are in the idle position and the engines are spooling down before moving the reverser levers on the Honeycomb Bravo.

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  10 месяцев назад +1

      No idea. Could be that the button/switch is not picked up? Maybe put in the data monitor the relevant data variables and see if they track as enabling.

    • @slicker55
      @slicker55 10 месяцев назад

      @@LesOReilly Thanks, will give that a try... done quite a few tests and the issue seems to occur if the reversers are activated before the engines have had time to spool down far enough but, of course, this delays the deployment of the reversers which can be quite problematic on short runways

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  10 месяцев назад +1

      if you google about reversers you will find multiple topics on it regarding PMDG .. Maybe have a look at this thread .. seems there is also an option in the FMC to alter this.. But any rate .. there is a delay from IDLE to REV thrust actually starting..

      @@LesOReilly Ahhh, thanks, I think I remember reading that somewhere else now... Oh, some constructive feedback, I have been testing the SPAD throttle/reverser setup (MSFS/PMDG 737-800)... may need just a little more work on the reversers config ... inconsistent results, sometimes both reversers work fine but occasionally one of them (usually engine 2) fails to engage as the throttles are advanced forward... seems quite critical both throttles are at absolute idle before the reversers levers are activated... just a thought, wondering if it would work better if another action to cut the throttles is added to the reverser levers?

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  10 месяцев назад

      It's not "just about" thrust reversers.. People had asked for getting Conditional Axis capabilities in SPAD. That is what this update is about .. how the new UI and Features for Axis work. The FWD vs REV thrust was one of the "uses" frequently asked about in relation to it.. This is not a "silver bullet as to why one would pay for spad"...
