I need a guide for Ottawa, please! I can't get my economy or military collected in time for when England arrives!
Colonial England would be great and also Poland
More south east Asian countries. Also, more offbeat Euro countries if possible
Theodoro
Inca!
Wow,an actual malaya guide. These are rare
except for the one he did 8 months ago.......
Malaya is absolutely my favorite non-europe nation to form. This place actually taught me so much about the game. Amazing guide Hawk. Now I wanna play Malaya again.
A Malaya guide from _the biggest naval warfare enjoyer out there_ ?
The balance of the universe has shifted, I can feel it
For cloves what you want to do is to get a colony that will allow you to attack them. Full annex one and vassalize the other. This will allow them to start colonizing the islands around them on your behalf, and they guarantee cloves will spawn.
I've only formed Malaya once, but it was one of the campaigns that I've enjoyed the most. Now I want to do it again.
Let's goo!! I'm one of the rare Malaya enjoyers! Happy to see this!
Right there with you man! THE SPICE MUST FLOW!!!
I always enjoy forming Malaya using Brunei. If you ally Malacca rivals or neighbours on the island, you deter them from expanding. After that their mission tree and lack of competent neighbours makes expansion easy. Make sure to ally Sunda too, to keep Majapahit at bay. After that, it's all gravy.
Me forming Malaya using Aceh:
Malaya is such a fun nation to form. I highly recommend Palembang as well. The ability to be a pirate in that region lets you rake in buckets of ducats and you can devestate Ming's coastline and cause their mingplosion.
Give the Japanese pirates some love
Madyas is also a fun nation to play as a pirate republic, plus they have their own missions so that's a bonus.
This is crazy.. just like 2 days ago, I wanted to do a malaya run cause I hadn't done one since your last guide of the region.. and I couldn't help but wonder how long until you did another guide 😭 it's here
Hell yeah Man, new Malaya guide! I know what I’m doing on my day off, thanks Hawk!
LET’S GOOOOOO
Great video again! Thanks Red Hawk!
Malacca is my favourite nation to play. I've played it a few times with different roleplay styles. My first playthrough was to flip to Mahayana and take on the Srivijaya name tag. I even got to confirm Thalassocracy. I did do a Sunni playthrough to maximise the amount of merchants. Regarding the mosque in Kutaraja, it's best to build it. Your missionary strength does affect the conversion speed of propagate religion, if you are going subject heavy, Malay culture nations get decisions to flip to Sunni should their capital or most of their development flip to Sunni. This means you can use propagate religion to ensure future vassals flip to Sunni and making their loyalty not affected by religious differences.
Thanks for the video
had a lot of fun forming Malaya!
I just did Cebu (Philippine Tiger achievement). Obviously a bit of a slower start than Malacca, but broadly the same sort of game play. Such a rich région outside of Europe
Now THIS is a fun one!
As someone that just finished a Malacca into Malaysia campaign it’s a tad hard to get into Sumatra due to alliance chains but once you do pretty smooth sailing
Those might be some of the best starting ideas in the game wow
You should definitely open up with expansion imo, colonize next to ternate vassalize them and declare on tidore. Your subject will get a colonist
Incredible situation: Sambas AND Banjar are colonising in this run. Never seen it. So you vassalise them (+Tidore/Ternate + Bali for nearby isles) and absolutely do not need to colonise yourself.
Another money making tips, you could vassalise sambas and wait for them to form lanfang.
They have a decision where they can spawn gold in every kalimantan/borneo provinces if you give them lands in there of course :)
To form lanfang you need to wait canton area to not owned by ming
You're killing it my guy. Keep it up!
Honestly love Malaya, but… In my opinion, Ternate is the way to go to form it. Way more fun and challenging at the same time.
Malacca mentioned! btw Aceh is pronounced as Aa-Che-h...the che is like che guevara, and ends it with the 'h' sound
Malacca is probably the nation I recommend most to the new players. Its the strongest and richest in the region, easier neighbors, you can learn about trade, land and naval warfare, you can colonize, simple mission trees and mechanics (no HRE or Chinese celestial), etc. Even europeans often lose in naval warfare since its your home, while europeans barely bring their entire fleet there
Ooohh do i wish that Maphilindo is a really happened irl. Shit would be op
hey hawk can you do an knights guide or an qq guide? that is the 2 nations i couldnt get the ball rolling... or maybe a guide for native american nations like cusco or aztec (not just survive the eurpoeans but actually being powerful)
I once played in that region formed Siam and never again, I hate ships and island hopping
One of the mechanics I wish EU4 had was culture drifting akin to CK3. Or culture conversion that creates a new culture in the your culture group rather than changes it to your exact culture. Every time I play as Japan, I conquer the SEA islands and tend to state them & culture convert them since it just kinda makes sense to me aesthetically given they're all islands. They're even kinda a continuous chain. But then I end up with a giant block of Kyushuan that stretches across the map which kinda implies the whole world is culturally homogenous... except for Japan itself? Or that the English that settle America grow culturally distinct but English/assimilated Indians in India don't. I'd love to something like Sinicization for cultures neighboring China but with a unique culture for every culture group in the game. I want a Sino-German culture damnit.
Whenever I play a Malaya campaign I try to colonise Micronesia as soon as I can to get the Nan Madol monument which speeds up your colonisation game.
There's also an event after the Mingsplosion where you can release Lanfang in Borneo. It seems counterproductive to do it, until you realise that it spawns another gold mine in the area, and once the truce is up you'll likely completely surround them and they'll have no allies.
the best map color to make in this game. but im biased cause its my favorite color.
Pretty borders, colonization, huge economy, and a massive fleet. What more could you ask for?
Best way is to start as Sunda & form banten through mission tree, amazing ideas that are great for both economy & blobbing. :)
this. The Banten idea set is one of like four to include a 20% goods produced modifier.
19:20 Surely you can just annex the land, complete the mission, THEN release Majapotato as a vassal? That way you get to have both
No way! Red hawk playing outside of Europe ? Love to see this
Re 25:20 Attack the natives, if you want to min max, if you leave the natives you get a production bonus for the Provence if you keep the natives.
Off topic, but is east india company included in releaseables? it is a "releaseable"
Only releasables in 1444
Can you make sweden video?
There is ALWAYS an estate decision to conquer pahangs province
Use it to conquer the peninsula early
Still think Shogun Majapahit is the strongest. It has vassalise cb on whole world and with daimo mechanic it basically becomes inlimited swarm works
Dude you can take an explorer from estates. Going expo first as Malaya simply a mistake.
No
@@svarog8546 That was a nice argument
How in the world are you teching to 4 while being able to dev to 39... I just am not able to replicate this.
People who know what Malacca means in greek 💀💀
but why put 8k income in the thumbnail?
the only problem is all the islands rebelling
Fancy a Lithuania guide?
I need a guide for Ottawa, please! I can't get my economy or military collected in time for when England arrives!
When you talk about native policy, you never mention that you don't have to kill off the natives if you choose repression. If you can spare the troops to station 2 units on or next to each colony, it's very easy to put down rebellions and the production bonus in the new province. I guess 2 units in the provinces with the most natives. You don't have to keep an eye on it, as you get a popup whenever there's an uprising.
False advertisement. +42 golds is not +9000. (So i can't compare with GB, if they are really more rich, which i find possible, but unlikely.)
Tall or wide?
Oh, Hawk's least favourite region to play. This can only be good!
Day 25 of daily asking for Genua guide
Your favorite area, right? >.
I'd like to see him do a WC as Cebu.
Right
@@jimraynor3767or have fun making Mingsplosion as a pirate republic with Madyas
" THIS Is The SECRET RICHEST Nation" I swear every other title says that...
It's a job. RUclips needs them to do it
@@derekskelton4187 I don't remember youtube having a clause that you need to upload videos with misleading title.
Also from perspective of a player who wants to find an informative guide for a nation that is the richest, if you see this title at every other video, who do you believe?
Who the hell are you and what have you done to Hawk? Real Hawk would never play SEA without a gun pointing to his head
Annoyingly as Malaya, you are forced to make Australia a colonial administration (unless you mess around with capital placement), and considering that colonial nations don't convert culture, I've had a fully Malay Indonesia, Indochina, Burma and half of the Pacific, but then Australia is a patchwerk of Castilians, Malays, Egyptians, and natives.
Australia is definitely the region of all time in eu4
