    My comment on the conclusion part.. I've taken my 1974 bullet 350 to Ladakh, 13 times in 13 years. During those times when tarmac was a distant dream there. Done off roading, went through watercrossings. Came back home. And just basic servicing and bike wash.. thats it really.. extremely tough to believe. Forget about people reading my comment.. it's tough for me also to believe. I'm confident as a rider that without a single issue I'll take Super Meteor 650 to Ladakh (which is 90% tarmac area now) and Spiti.

    Kudos for a very authentic and honest review as always. You also tried to answer a very important question,, SM-650 or Int-650. I like the Int-650 for its honest, no-nonsense vibes and timeless classic design. But, negative stories regarding its handle bar, seat/seating comfort issues and average suspension have stopped me so far from buying one. Lack of tubeless tyres is another issue. For all this, I was waiting for SM-650 which has actually turned out to be a beautiful product. But its still not a go-anywhere machine like the Inty which I feel is more versatile for a lot less money.

    I would think the Kawasaki Vulcan s would be a direct competitor and in the US at 7500 dollars which will probably be close to the US Super Meteor price, yet to be determined. I certainly like the looks and ergonomics being a cruiser fan for over 20 years, and getting closer to 70 years old, this may just fit the bill when my 800 pound victory gets to heavy. I bet this bike does really well worldwide and may do well in the US with new and young folks.

    I own the Super Meteor 650, you are the only one who has accounted for the minor vibrations on the handlebar compared to the Int650. This minor buzz takes the feel of top end performance away as i don’t feel like pushing it beyond 100kmph. This makes me wonder if i would have better off with the 350cc engine as they are fine with cruising at same speed. The engine character has been a let down for me coming from a continental GT.

    Your review is fair. Thanks.
    If you own a bike of this category/class you would really know how to ride a bike with the GC of 135.
    There is no reason to make such a fuss about the gc. None of the reviewers address that one particular issue- the long wheelbase and the subsequent issues of parking and maneuvering at low speeds in an urban scenario.
    For good chain and sprocket life the chain would need love and care every 500km which makes the main stand a God sent, not what you make it sound- a vestigial organ. You dont know the main headache of the earlier 650s being the poor ratios of 5th and 6th. Would help if you tell us what they have done to correct that on a cruiser.

    Nice, honest review. I really like the look of this bike especially in this colour. However, it's a bit too much maintenance for me. If it had a belt drive (I have promised myself to never lubricate and clean a motorcycle chain again) and a blacked out exhaust system I would seriously consider spending my money.

    • @khaccanhle1930
      @khaccanhle1930 Год назад +1

      You must be an American, because NO where else in the world are belt drives used on bikes. Virtually everyone uses chain drives or maybe some have shafts. Enfield, Kawi, KTM, BMW, Yamaha, Mash, Triumph, etc, etc.... I live in a country of about 60 million people on two wheels and the ONLY people who have a belt drive are the few thousand HD owners.
      Chain drive is the norm for the 1 or 2 BILLION motorcyclists in the world outside the US, so naturally Enfield built it with them in mind. In most countries of the world, mechanics don't even know what a belt drive is, let alone have the ability to service it. As surprising as it may be, the rest of the world doesn't revolve around the tiny number of HD riders in the USA.
      No way Enfield would kill their flagship bike by saddling it with a belt drive. It's not a good economic decision. Get a can of chain lube and take 20 seconds to spray the chain. It ain't rocket science. I've got 4 bikes with chains, it's nothing to change, clean or adjust them.

    • @ThorRavnsborg
      @ThorRavnsborg Год назад

      @@khaccanhle1930 Plausible assumption but very wrong. I'm from Denmark and I never had much interest in a Harley Davidson (which are generally too heavy and poor value for what you get in my opinion). I just happen to think that chains are outdated and should be phased out sooner than later.
      Belt drive conversion kits are sold for a lot of bikes including Enfield's but I only know a few dealers and they tend to be out of stock.
      Btw. belt drive also comes as standard on several other brands including some models from BMW for example.

    Have come across three videos of people complaining of lower back pain or discomfort over a 200 km ride. The sitting position or the foot position probably transfers the bad Road shocks Direct to the waist area. In a 350 bullet the foot position makes the kegs absorb some of the bad Road shock. Someone please keep this in mind. I don't think it is for India.

    Nice review.. I don't know why there is less subscribers compared to other channels.. love both channel and app. Coming to the bike , I reckon this bike will have more takers but not for me .. I'm eyeing on the classic/shotgun 650 .. any info on release date on these bikes?

      Thank you for the appreciation. Do spread the word and help us grow.
      As for the Classic/Shotgun 650, the SG could be launched in Mid 2023, while Classic 650 is likely to be launched in 2024.

    I am hearing this feedback of rear suspension is not comfortable that creates stiffness and hurts back during long ride and lights (lamp) throw during night is not powerful enough especially when street lights are not there ..

    How good is the LED headlight? As this is the first time, RE has gone full LED setup! Will it be possible for meteor owners to use the headlight from 650!

    • @BikeWaleOfficial
      @BikeWaleOfficial  Год назад +1

      We will test the headlight performance when we get the motorcycle for a proper road test review. Also, it could be easier to swap the LED headlamp on other RE bikes, but we’ll have to check the connectors.

  • @Dheeraj_7922
    @Dheeraj_7922 Год назад +1

    I completely disagree with one point mentioned about suspension causing some concern with mumbai road condition. I still ride bullet 350 which was purchased by my father way back in 1974.. and in Mumbai roads specially during monsoon my 1974 model bullet 350 still runs smoothly. Now count for how many years this bike is with us and it's engine is not yet opened. Surely Super Meteor 650, as compared to 1974 bullet is light years ahead in terms of build quality and suspension. I refuse to accept it will cause any issue. Time has come to have this bike parked alongwith 1974 Bullet 350

    • @BikeWaleOfficial

      Primarily alloys and an option to fit wider tires. I'm okay with the performance of halogen lights and conventional forks and updating the same will bring the cost of the motorcycle close to the super meteor

    When I looked at this bike last week,,I thought it looked beautiful, But there are two issues I would point out... Both the rear brake lever and the gear shift lever look rubbish..I do not blame RE for this,,,Its down to cost,,,Hopefully some enterprising company will make some better ones as an accessory.

    A good review. However, practical aspects of the motorcycle has not been highlighted... Emphasising on 135 mm ground clearance is a non issue as it is ample to clear all obstacles and bumps under normal conditions. The centre stand is essential for maintenance of the chain and bike... After all it is a cruiser well made... Interceptor is a different bike, so i think the comparison is strange!!! Enjoy the Super Meteor
