I own a Royal Enfield 500, it does 80-100 kmph easily with the best in Class GRS Gas shock absorbers at the rear..and a touring seat. Super comfy at any kind of Indian road. Mild undulations, Bridge joints, speed breaker s, potholes, it swallows everything it goes thru. Ita highly stable at 90-100 . Gives me 30 kmph . Finally that traditional bass beat from the exhaust. Goosebumps.. So i decided not to exchange it to Super Meteor. I think putting a GRS at rear would be a game changer in terms of ride quality. And also replacing with powerful Halogens lights. That was epic. I did a 1000k trip from Mackay to Brisbine in Aussie on a 2013 Harley Streer bob. Couldn't hop back in the saddle for a week. Well done sir. You have a new subscriber.
Did Guwahati to Kolkata on Xpulse 200 4V in exactly 18hrs. I started from guwahati at 7:10 am and reached at 1:10 am. The entire ride was fun mostly maintained at 100 kmph speed, only the last 200km were excessively bad (100km to Krishnanagar and from there to Kolkata 100kms very dusty and very large potholes) also have taken the botol bari route which was quick in time but the roads were single lane and had animal disturbance. From Siliguri to Kolkata numerous numbers of barricades were very disturbing on the Assam part of the journey it was smooth but had frequent diversions.
Greetings from the Grand Duchy of Cornwall UK.....What a brilliant long distance honest test excellent my friend to you and your team , this really makes me want to come to your country and do the run myself. The 1000Km was a test of the bike and comfort which was very interesting but to be fair I don't think (unless in an emergency) you would actually do 1000Km all in one hit. I particularly liked the comment about cruising, "you do it to take in the scenery and enjoy the ride not to thrash the bike over a long distance" (I paraphrase there) and I totally agree. Well done and I will certainly be looking out for more of your vids.
Beautiful bike. But cruiser bikes are not for India. We're just introducing Western style bikes to India. Problem is our roads are not in western quality. Cruiser needs miles and miles of nice road, free from potholes and speed breakers.
Excellent Review ! Sounded unscripted and real ! especially the bit how you started liking cruiser after this ride. Credit to whole team ans sponsor for this video
Hi sir. It was impressive to see you on 650 Enfield. Even I did 1050 kms in one day on my interceptor. Kollegal to Navi Mumbai. I did it in 15 hours. My bike gave me 30-32 kms per liter… it was a fantastic ride….
I am riding avenger 160 from last 6 months. Lower back pain and stiff rear suspension is bigger issue in such bike, I have never felt this in my older 100cc commuter bikes. Please recommend me some other good bike which can be considered because somehow my avenger decision is not looks good to me.
Having done a few 400 to 600 kms bike rides over last 10 years, can never think of a 1000 km ride on any bike on any day of the year!! Kudos to you guys for putting up with a thumper of a bike for us viewers!
Great job and nice pictures. An inspiring one too. 1000km is a long journey, and I am sure that you would have had back pain with many other bikes too. Your video verifies that the rear suspensions and the screen could be improved. I noticed for myself that the rear shocks are pretty stiff and could bring my limits quite quickly. (I am way older than you... :) ). You proved that this bike could do it mechanically and your trip makes me think to try a long one as well. With more breaks!. Maybe riding only 400/500km a day... Aside from that, I like the passion you put into this experience and the way you talk about it. Thumbs up for the pictures and the sound, and all the effort and planning to film it, doing your pieces to camera and everything... Sure it is a lot of work. What a day isn't it?
Used to do Bangalore to Ahmednagar (~1000km) every few weeks back in 2015 on my RE Thunderbird Twinspark (2008) and have to say, that bike is a mobile couch, none of the later models feel the same for rider and pillion comfort.
This was a very well put together video. Credit to you and your cameraman. I'm scheduled to ride a 1000km ride in a few weeks and wanted to see what it feels like. I'll be riding a BMW F800GT and am based in New Zealand. I look forward to watching your other videos.
1000 kms in a day is crazy and also not easy in a country like India. You must be having many of the experieces on the road. Hats off to you guys because you guys have done this while shooting video, its too hectic. Great video.
Just got this video recommended on my RUclips feed. Nice job with the video and the presentation of the bike without delving too much into the spec sheet. Although, I didn't particularly connect with the narration on the whole. For me, it felt like you were reading off a script that was originally intended for an article on your website. So, I as a viewer, didn't necessarily feel the emotions that you were trying to convey through the video. You could tone down the use of complex language and just naturally express how you felt while riding the machine. Never meant to be that guy, but I thought I'd mention it. Otherwise, great job with the video. Can't wait for more videos :D Edit: The writer in me had to express it out 😂
Well a memorable ride... And beautiful cinematography. Brings back my fond memories of 2003 when I ventured out with my newly acquired red colour Pulsar 180cc and rode from hyderabad to bangalore... Roughly 600kms. Bum was sore after 350 kms and in those times, we didn't have access to so many motorcycle gears as available now. I had only a leather jacket on, jeans and woodland shoes. That's all. Not even gloves. Drove thru rain, dust, broken roads, and truck traffic. Back and bum was totally sore when I reached after 12. 5 hours of riding with a few breaks in between. Night ride was really scary as the headlight was too weak for highways and approaching vehicles. Took 1 day complete rest lying on my stomach.... Due to sore bum 😅. But enjoyed the ride thoroughly and is still vivid in my memories. Sold it after 12 years. Very soon would buy a Himalayan 450 or shotgun 650 scrambler... Let's see. And thanks for the nice video.
Been waiting all of several months for this thing to arrive in Australia. It's April now, but it ain't here yet. I just want to get this thing and give it a try, damn it!
All this I can do on my TB500 too without the infamous back sore, cruising between 95Kmph & 105Kmph. Thinking not to upgrade for now after this review😊. Thank you very much!
Would be interested in your doing the same route on an Interceptor 650 I'm a little concerned about the stiff ride on the Super Meteor Thank you for the video 👍🏻
very nice insight got from you. need your help which one you would prefer interceptor 650 or super meteor 650. specially when I m just 5.2 but any how using interceptor 650 for last four years.
Great effort…!! It requires planning and execution for such rides. I guess 1k km ride on any bike would give a lower back n butt pain..!! Keep it up and have great rides ahead..!
Excellent review! To be honest I do not think many riders are willing to do 1000 km in one day, whatever the bike they ride, so the fact that you did it and found the SM60 comfortable for around 800 km was surprisingly good.
Great review, my man! Thank you and your team for putting in the hours and the effort. You are right... 800 kms it is already a good stretch for a test drive. 🙏🏻
I have traveled on Thunderbird 500 from kolhapur to indore in single day...l have also travelled from indore to Dwarka, Gujrat, on the same bike in single day..l only used to take frequent Intermittent breaks every 1.5 hours to hydrate myself and stretching 20 min long break for food..Born to ride..love my TB500.
Nicely brought out. U did experience a tough journey though. Did u specifically restrict the speed to 80kmph? The bike does need lot of improvements. Keeping in mind the horrific traffic in Bangalore, How could you rip through Bangalore traffic is a mystery bcoz Bengaluru has the worst traffic conditions in the country. I hv lived there 56 years & traffic conditions are only going from worst to pathetic to hell. Anyway, the super meteor 650 needs a handlebar riser & 2 pairs of aux lights, where in GR40 (Gold Runway 40) is the best suited for indian bikes & road & traffic conditions. The crash guard can be fitted with highway pegs so that u can rest & stretch your legs. Rider back rest in your bike can be installed which gives a much need support for back. Also Pune has one excellent superbike accessories shop which can help u in this field. Bangalore too has a great guy Sandeep Dhaiya who fabricates the back rest as per your choice & personal requirements. Best wishes.
We had to follow the speed limits of 70kmph and 80kmph throughout Maharashtra and Karnataka. We reached Bangalore post 12am, so traffic wasn’t much. In fact barely any traffic.
Good one! By the way, I heard your positives and negatives about the super meteor while touring. I have specific question. Would you say that something like a Suzuki VStorm SF250 would fare better with regard to comfort in terms of driving posture, seating comfort and ride comfort.
Very good video. I'm eager to know how the Super Meteor fares against the Meteor. Except for the obvious 650 vs 350 engine and the accompanying power difference, how much better is the Super Meteor over the Meteor? Is the 2 lakh add-on a justified expenditure?
Hi Vyshak. The 650 is better on many fronts! The overall build quality, the brakes, the engine refinement, the handling, stability, gearbox, almost everything is several notches better. And of course, the much more imposing road presence. And although you already know this, the difference in engine performance itself is massive and justifies the hefty premium.
@@kailashsingh7169 Yes, for that price, Meteor 350 is great, if you're not concerned about things like higher cruising speed, better refinement, more visual appeal, and better build quality.
Good review... Standing up while riding is something I wouldn't publicize as it could prove dangerous for an amateur.. Taking regular breaks during long rides should be the safety message... This is not criticism, just a recommendation for your future videos...
Great video.. all important points covered, and very well summarised. Its not that people plan 1k per day rides regularly, even hardcore rider do it once a while. If people want to do 1k ride in a day... just pick up the kawasaki versys 650... its sofa on wheels. I have personally done bangalore to guwahati in 3 days straight on a versys. Day 1 Bangalore to Vizaz Day 2 vizaz to burdwan Day 3 Burdwan to Guwahati All early morning starts at 03.30am.
A 20 hours ride in any kind of vehicle including 4 wheelers will be a big ask let alone a bike ride. Super meteor is not a bike but a work of art from RE.
Very well done. Thank you so much. We can listen to your coverage all day. Your parents did a good job. Your honesty assessment of the REM motorcycle, gave it much weight.
Nice video, my personal opinion, without an airseat doing these many kms on a motorcycle can cause back ache and your butt to become so sore, you can't lie down on your back. I have done rides ranging from 300 - 1600 kms non-stop and from my experience as soon as you cross the 300 mark, you will want to take more breaks to soothe your aching rear. I used gel seats and air seats and found that the biggest advantage of using an air seat is that you can more around. This gives your butt much needed break from all the strain of the body
Alwar to birdwal 545 km. not a highway... With lots of challenges and in the mid summer of may on a peak temp of 48.6°c... I covered in 8hrs with 2 tea breaks of 15mins each and other lunch break of 30mins..... 5 years ago... Its on my 2016 tb 350...... Still had lot much of time and energy again to go out with friends for dinner...... Man the bike may not touch 110 or more but its definitely a cruise bike to enjoy the long rides
Hey guys, great video. Very poetic. Is 90-110 kmph the sweet spot for the SM650? I thought this can easily cruise at 120-130 kmph. Or is because you guys didn't want to go that fast? I know there's the challenge of shooting as well.
90-110kmph is definitely the sweet spot. But the motorcycle can easily do 120kmph all day long, if the roads and traffic allows. For us, it was a combination of speed interceptors and traffic that kept our speeds in check.
So nice of #BikeWale to keep the speeds in legal limits! I believe riding at higher speeds mentally tire you as you lead lot of attention and sap your energy. Staying at 105kmph indicated gives me gps speed of 97-99 kmph and just munch miles.
Well... Mine Trail is out of this cruiser league. But still I'll to say that I did a ride in Honda Activa 5G from Surat to Rajkot 435 kms in 10 hours. I'll surely like to try RE SM 650. Thank You for creating this video. Kudos to you & your team.
I have done 1000 MILES in 24 hours many times, and 1500 MILES in 36 hours several times, on several different bikes. Of course, I had the U.S. interstate highway system to do it on. Not sure I could do it on a Meteor 650. It would need to be able to hold an actual GPS speed of 80 miles per hour pretty much the entire way and still have enough in reserve so the engine wasn't being run at full throttle all the time.
I'm a car person, nd my bikie guys used to tell me... bike ride is the best you can feel the wind bla bla bla... with all those armour like ride gears , what are you feeling ... now all I think of doing a bike ride , beating traffic , nd reaching further places where cars are not allowed... and im talking abt the age after 30 ... collage days isnt considered ...
LOL, I'm 70 and I do more than that on a KTM Duke 690 one cylinder screaming thumper... :-) But, indeed, the Royal Enfield 650 was one if the options I contemplated before deciding for the Duke. The quality of the RE machining is at the same level as BMW and KTM and it's certainly better looking than the Duke. But the Duke is much more fun and, at the same speed, uses less gas.
Beautiful bike moderate commentary brilliant camera angels and shots not that much of riding experience but just don't why the cornering felt a little off the corner since it felt weird seeing don't know exactly why however great informatics appreciate the efforts you guys put into the making of the video ❤

That’s awesome to hear from someone who’s done a similar ride. Hope we have captured the journey perfectly for you.

Bro what's the mileage u getting in traffic like Mumbai
I need to think if I should take the delivery or not.
Just worried about mileage both traffic and highway
Thanks in advance
@@ameyathorat3461 overall I got around 23 KMPL . Particularly in city I belive it's 21 KMPL .
If you go on highway in maintained speed then the milage will grow 1or 2 point .
Thanks again 👍
Amazing video Anuj, today me n my wife were discussing if we should have a S Meteor in our garage n we came across this video. Excellent presentation of to the point facts on a super long ride.
Thank you for the kind words, Bulu 🙏🏽
Fantastic journey you went on! Thanks for documenting and sharing! 🎉😁
I am ordering a touring version soon as my dealership here in the USA calls to tell me the order banks are open. Looking forward to my own stateside version of your trip soon as the bike is delivered!
Keep up the great content! Cheers!!
We are glad that you liked our content and presentation. Thank you 🙏🏽
Congratulations on your upcoming purchase. Happy and safe riding, Sir.
Thank you so much!
That was epic. I did a 1000k trip from Mackay to Brisbine in Aussie on a 2013 Harley Streer bob. Couldn't hop back in the saddle for a week. Well done sir. You have a new subscriber.
Wow that’s amazing. Do share your experience. We came back 1000km as well, but the return leg was spread over 2 days.
@@BikeWaleOfficial lol. Sounds funny 😁 but also painful. 😖
That’s awesome. Ride safe 👍🏼
Salute to the camera man efforts..
Thank you 🙏🏽
Respect to entire crew, this remind me the ride which I did from Delhi -Bangalore- Delhi under monsoon on a RE 350

😂
Oh man....This takes a lot to start the journey of 1000 Km in a single day....great work guys
Thank you so much for the kind words and appreciation 🙏🏽
1000 km is a little more than 1/2 a mile. Wow. Yup. Skills.
Why is no one talking about the handle position and the uncomfortable position for LUMBAR it creates....!!!
Then which bike is good for 1000 km ride??? 12:21
Nicely presented and edited,.....❤
Thank you 🙏🏽
Thanks Saji! Glad you liked it.
Hi sir. It was impressive to see you on 650 Enfield. Even I did 1050 kms in one day on my interceptor. Kollegal to Navi Mumbai. I did it in 15 hours. My bike gave me 30-32 kms per liter… it was a fantastic ride….
Wow, that’s awesome. How was your experience.
the madness of a cruiser biker..I have already astral blue 650. i have that madness and it's awesome. amazed by ur 1000 km journey and review.
Thank you for the appreciation, Satyaprakash.
Thank you so much Satya
Good Video. I am using Meteor 350 from 2yrs. Need some breaks for cruiser segments, while travelling. Also good narration & very well explained
Thank you so much for the kind words and appreciation 🙏🏽
Lower back pain is common issue in Cruiser motorcycles because of that seating position.
Not just the seating position, but also the ride quality.
I am riding avenger 160 from last 6 months. Lower back pain and stiff rear suspension is bigger issue in such bike, I have never felt this in my older 100cc commuter bikes. Please recommend me some other good bike which can be considered because somehow my avenger decision is not looks good to me.
@@AtulTripathi1992 yeah. In cruiser bikes, all the weight concentrate at lower back. So....
Having done a few 400 to 600 kms bike rides over last 10 years, can never think of a 1000 km ride on any bike on any day of the year!! Kudos to you guys for putting up with a thumper of a bike for us viewers!
Next level content man. Hat's off.
Thank you so much for the kind words and appreciation. 🙏🏽
Ohh yes, it was one hell of a day and an epic epic ride. Thank you for noticing what goes behind the scenes to produce a video like this. 🙏🏽
Great video. I remember doing it from Bengaluru to Pune on my thunderbird 500 back in 2017. So painful.
Thank you 🙏🏽
1000 kms in a day is crazy and also not easy in a country like India. You must be having many of the experieces on the road. Hats off to you guys because you guys have done this while shooting video, its too hectic. Great video.
It was one hell of a ride. Thank you so much for the appreciation 🙏🏽
Can't wait for more videos :D
Edit: The writer in me had to express it out 😂
Thank you for the feedback Pranav.
We can only imagine the fun you’d have had on your trip. Kudos to you. Ride safe 👍🏼
Realistic Journey feeling after watching this video.....
That was the idea sir. Glad that our efforts made you feel that way.
Been waiting all of several months for this thing to arrive in Australia. It's April now, but it ain't here yet. I just want to get this thing and give it a try, damn it!
Do check with your local dealership for more info.
All this I can do on my TB500 too without the infamous back sore, cruising between 95Kmph & 105Kmph. Thinking not to upgrade for now after this review😊. Thank you very much!
What is tb500?

Would be interested in your doing the same route on an Interceptor 650
I'm a little concerned about the stiff ride on the Super Meteor
Thank you for the video 👍🏻
Take a test-ride and decide bro😊
The Interceptor will do much better in terms of ride quality. But, the seating comfort and ergonomics could be an issue.
very nice insight got from you. need your help which one you would prefer interceptor 650 or super meteor 650. specially when I m just 5.2 but any how using interceptor 650 for last four years.
Interceptor seat hight is 800 mm and meteore is 700mm
so meteor might be good for you 🤸🏻🤸🏻
I have done dehradun to ahmedabad in 22 hours only with my classic 350,
It was amazing experience 😍
Great effort…!!
It requires planning and execution for such rides. I guess 1k km ride on any bike would give a lower back n butt pain..!!
Keep it up and have great rides ahead..!
Thanks for commenting MD! But I believe one can do this more comfortably on a motorcycle on which you can stand up and ride for a longer duration.
Indeed, it requires a lot of meticulously planning. Especially, when you also need to shoot while riding! Wastes a lot of time.
Wonderful Video. I too have the same bike and the same windshield extender, The wind shield extender supports pretty well while driving in high speed.
Yes it does initially. But it starts affecting on such longer rides. It also depends on your height.
5:29 My favourite speed range, 60-80 kmph. I also ride my RE between 60-80.
Excellent review! To be honest I do not think many riders are willing to do 1000 km in one day, whatever the bike they ride, so the fact that you did it and found the SM60 comfortable for around 800 km was surprisingly good.
Ya dear I can totally relate to the soreness.Last week only I undertook a ride from Dharwad to Banguluru on my meteor 350..
Ok 👍🏼
Great review, my man! Thank you and your team for putting in the hours and the effort. You are right... 800 kms it is already a good stretch for a test drive. 🙏🏻
I have traveled on Thunderbird 500 from kolhapur to indore in single day...l have also travelled from indore to Dwarka, Gujrat, on the same bike in single day..l only used to take frequent Intermittent breaks every 1.5 hours to hydrate myself and stretching 20 min long break for food..Born to ride..love my TB500.
That’s awesome 👍🏼
This is one of the best reviews that I have ever saw on Super Meteor, Kudo to the BikeWale team 💐
Hoping YSS can come up with a more absorbing suspension then it would be a really compelling buy
We hope they bring it soon.
Thanks for the information Fat Bob :)
It does justify the premium but meteor is also good enough if u want to cruise at 80kmph....it will also return atleast 30% better fuel efficiency...
That's a very good point Kailash.
Thank you for the suggestion, as well as the appreciation.
What a great video, charming presenter and great camera work
Great video.. all important points covered, and very well summarised.
Its not that people plan 1k per day rides regularly, even hardcore rider do it once a while.
If people want to do 1k ride in a day... just pick up the kawasaki versys 650... its sofa on wheels. I have personally done bangalore to guwahati in 3 days straight on a versys.
Day 1 Bangalore to Vizaz
Day 2 vizaz to burdwan
Day 3 Burdwan to Guwahati
All early morning starts at 03.30am.
Even taking video is an art, I really appreciate the camera man
Thank you for the appreciation 🙏🏽
Well summarised sir.
I am getting motivated by just watching this to do Bangalore to Patna on whatever bike i buy in upcoming months.
This video has some of the finest camera angle, shots. Great videography

Great bro . I have done mumbai to Bangalore in a day on RE CLASSIC 350.
Waiting for the Classic 650, this one is is more made for the international audience.
Yes, the Classic 650 would be a much more comfortable motorcycle.
Your narration is just top notch. Subscribed
Unfortunately every cruiser seat stock is not good. Are the shocks adjustable?
Please make this series continue, with 390 Adventure, 310 GS, and Yezdi Adv next.
That’s a good idea. However repeating a similar storyline wouldn’t work! Do suggest a few ideas.
Thank you
Genuine review from lots of hard ride , work .....from heart.

There is a weird high pitch noise in several parts of this video. Kindly take a look. Wonderful breakdown of the Meteor 650!
Well...
Mine Trail is out of this cruiser league. But still I'll to say that I did a ride in Honda Activa 5G from Surat to Rajkot 435 kms in 10 hours.
I'll surely like to try RE SM 650.
Thank You for creating this video. Kudos to you & your team.
But now a days road conditions in india are too good compaee to earlier.
The Super Meteor 650 can just about manage 80mph all day long, although it has a top speed of close to 100mph.
But, indeed, the Royal Enfield 650 was one if the options I contemplated before deciding for the Duke.
Amazing work! Please do a long ride on the BSA Goldstar 650. Very much interested to know your opinion.
I did 914 KM in a single day on my RE Classic 350 back in 2012 and I am proud of it.

@@BikeWaleOfficial The experience was great! I took about 16 hours to cover 914 KM from Pune to my hometown in AP.
