Hi Mark, I think this is a super review of this bike and I'd like to explain why. First off, you shared your experience of riding it normal speeds in a great variety of environments - country roads, dual carriageways and in town. Secondly, you have a great knack of putting into words what you are feeling/experiencing; and as a result I felt like I had all I needed to make the decision "try or not to try". Thirdly, your enthusiasm - it's very engaging and makes me the listener want to know more. I own a 2022 RE Himi and for me RE just can't put a foot wrong, their ever extending range are simply beautiful machines. From an old git still riding...
It's a lovely bike Mark, and I'd have one tomorrow if there was a dealership within 50 miles and my knees weren't so bad. Have to stick to my light, small and manageable Honda CMX500. I am 67 years old, been riding since I was 16, never owned a car.
Thanks Mark. RE have nailed it yet again. They'll sell a gadzillion of these. And deserve to. That engine has been truly, truly tested, and everyone loves it. And now in an approachable cruiser...well. Plus, their finish and quality is now right up there. The paint, switch gear. Yep. It's a beauty.
A really fine looking machine 🤗👍 Who would have thought a few years back that RE would building bikes like this today? Keep it up RE you deserve your success.
I've seen this bike in the showroom last week, that blue is even more beautiful in the flesh, an amazing eye catching dreamy bike... I've never ridden a cruiser but if I had room for a third bike 🚳 this would definitely be it.... great review Mark 💯 as always, take care (weather ☁️ great today) ❤️
First one I've seen in the blue. I think it really pops. I'd pick that over the black / green. Add a screen and top box in place of the seat squab as I don't carry pillions. Maybe the panniers depending on how much they stick out.
Thanks Mark for your bike reviews, I'm in Australia and went for a ride this morning to a Royal Enfield dealer, we should see the Super Meteor in April, looking forward to a test ride. They still had a Bullet 500 in the show room, very appetising. Cheers.
G'day Mark from Australia, it will be mid year before this bike arrives for sale here, it will do very well on the long Australian open roads and suit a lot of people who normally would pick something larger, the price and warranty are a winner and the road side care is great, no rev counter sucks, l would be fitting one if able, another great review, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Hi Mark. I would choose this super meteor over the interceptor or continental any day of the week. The forward position of the legs avoids bad blood circulation so you can do many more miles in comfort. Mount a screen, leather side bags, and it'll be a proper touring bike.
Another RE winner. My local dealer has one, I'll have to have a look. As you say I think it could change a lot of anti cruiser people's mind set. Good job sir👍👍🍻

Thanks for the review Mark. I live and work in Mumbai and ordered a Super Meteor the morning after the evening launch. It's good to know it's as good to ride as it is to look at. RE named their Himalayan line after the speed bumps in Bangalore, India. I am glad to report the Meteor 650 handled these well (Kawasaki Vulcan S has failed here).
I just went from Berlin to London and back on a Super Meteor 650. I am 68. On my way back I did Calais Reling in one day. It was a phantastic ride I can confirm this bike is well suited also for long rides. My comparison: Harley Sportster 883 model year 98) which I own as well and did the trip with last year. RE is more comfortable (even though other people complain about the rear suspension) and more agile. Calais - Berlin that is nearly 1000 kilometres and I would never have thought it manageable for an old man like me but it was . So my verdict: this bike is absolutely recommendable, if you like the style ( which I do).
@@markpulling12 damn sorry Mark, I was watching a saddlebags vid and rolled over to yours while I read commenting. That means someone else has your comment for this. Ern is saddlebags classic 500. What a mess 🤦
Other manufacturers need to look to RE and see what people want and are buying. All other manufacturesrs are £££ crazed . Superb review as normal thanks for your hard graft
That looks the perfect sized bike for someone of your height. Curse my "elongated" frame !!! An earlier review I read said that this did not have a slipper or assisted clutch. Hopefully that was a typo as it would be a good thing to have. Good job RE 👍
Excellent review Mark! Love the color. Really amazed at what RE is producing lately. I am not sure if this bike is available in the US yet. I didn't think it was available outside of India yet?
Whoever did the setup angled the handlebar too far forward/upward. Needs to be rolled back toward the rider a bit. Also, the switchgear pods left and right aren’t even.
Great review Mark, I wish I had your “way with words” when doing reviews. Very good indeed. Being a long term owner of an Interceptor and also a Classic 350, I am hooked on the brand. Though I have never been into cruisers myself, without a doubt, it will do well. Thanks for sharing.
What a lovely bike. Nice to see my beloved Poole too. Spent many a time at the Dolphin centre bus station trying to sober up before getting the bus to Swanage. Happy days.
I'd definitely agree there. Not sure where you are but here in Canada (North America in general) a 650 would be at the very lower end of size for a starter cruiser and as I also have a Honda Shadow 750, it would feel like a step backwards but it does look fantastic. Maybe larger engines will come in the future? I've also read that you can get a high quality kit to up them to an eight hundred and something CC.
Thanks. That is on my shortlist for next bike. A bit far to a dealer here in Sweden but you have convinced me to go and try it. This, the Kawa Z650RS and Honda CB500X are the top 3 on my list so they are different, all three. My current bike is a cruiser, a Vulcan 750 that I´ve had the last 12 years. Thought about a change, really but that RE is just so gorgeous to look that I have to try it. Good review, you covered almost everything I want to know except the feeling it for myself.
Thanks for the review mark… I’ve been watching this bike for a few weeks now…it would be perfect for me to tour Thailand on I believe..my local dealer doesn’t know when they will be in Thailand though.. he told me check back in a couple of weeks.. my only other choice is the triumph speed master…twice the price… small fuel tank… can’t get center stand for it…can have it in 1 week… I guess I will have to have patience…. Thanks again…
quality bike. quality review. i have listened to about 6-7 of the reviews of the super meteor 650 and this was by far the most engaging and informative. thanks!
Hi Mark, thanks very useful. A point to note are the bars on the touring model are higher and wider I think you'll find. After many years of HD Glides I've sold up and buying an Interstellar with touring seat and screen (colour I want), and easy to swap from tourer to cruiser with screen removal. I do lots of long distance riding mainly on the continent and this bike suits me exactly. I think the only criticism I would make is the USB is located under the LHD side panel which I really have no use for there; I'm sure something aftermarket will come out soon enough for up near the handlebars 👍.
very good informative test ride, finish looks excellent , can't help wondering why they have not brought out the hunter 650 first ?? after seeing your 350 - thats the best looker ...
Great review Mark as always, well i like the way the motor purring at all kind of revs, as for the handlebars and foot rests setup i think is something that every rider can fit it on his anatomy after owning the bike, not something minus for the bike, well at this time i want to ask you mark please next time give as more in depth details for the bike like opening side panels, the seat chek out for set of tools or space below seats. Thanks in advance With friendly regards Harry Dendromiris
As always, a really useful and detailed review. I am not a cruiser bike person.. I have an Interceptor 650 and the engine, gearbox and clutch on it are really excellent. The seating position is sub-optimal, however.. especially the foot pegs.. I am always getting tangled in them at a stop, to avoid them I have to assume a posture that causes a hip cramp. The Super Meteor looks like a good alternative.. Cruiseresque without being too obvious about it.
If I had the budget and was planning on more regular long journeys I think I would be looking to get one of these. I’ve looked at them in my local dealer here in Cardiff and it certainly has the ‘look’!
It's disappointing that RE hasn't given the Super Meteor a belt drive. For some strange reason belt drive on anything but a cruiser seems to be tabu, but since this one is actually a cruiser, belt drive would seem the logical choice. Cleaning and lubricating the chain behind that big silencer looks like it could be a bit of a pain, so a maintenance free belt would have been nice.
I think chain drive is the demand and practical choice for most motorcyclists, especially the ones who might want to chop it up and not want a bagger-type belt drive interrupting their design; also in India belt drive conversions are common on Bullets themselves and costs about INR 17,000 for the whole thing, the belts last at least 50,000 kms each and don't cost much to replace. So I'm sure inexpensive belt drive mods for the Super Meteor will come out soon in the aftermarket for those absolutely needing a belt drive.
@@kshetrimayumsingh7959 haha I ride a chain modded Harley Sportster so I certainly don’t need belt drive on this bike, which I’m actually considering to buy; besides me, I can’t think of many people who’d want their belt to snap in the middle of nowhere in india without a hope of help unless they’re carrying a spare, and none of this will happen with chain drive…the minimal chain noise on a well lubed chain gets drowned in the chaos ;)
Mr Pulling, I thoroughly enjoyed the review. Thank you very much! Most bike vloggers I know do a voice over later. You on the other hand are doing it while your focus is on the road and traffic, which is amazing and at the same time, you are able to express your ride feel as felt first hand. 650 is a beautiful bike... Planning to test drive one soon and add it to my other REs - electra and classic 🙂👍
Great review. They’re a bit heavy and underpowered like all RE bikes, but reliable and consistent. A bit more work on the styling needed for it to look properly “cruiserly”!
Style reminds me so much off the Bonneville America I had. .Removing the impractical pillion seat and having the solo seat makes it look so much better.
I took one of these out on Saturday, the power was nice, the sound was nice but i just didn't like it. I'm 6 foot and felt a little cramped in the 'c' position and just not comfortable, i didn't feel i could ride far on it without pain or exhaustion... Hard to explain. I ride a himalayan and feel like i could ride to the end of the world on it and was glad to be back on it! Maybe I'm just used to it. Don't get me wrong, stunning bike, smooth engine and gearbox just not for me.
I've been waiting for this one Mark. I've seen the bike at the show and it looked fab. The only criticism from me is that i would have liked to see the forks raked out a bit more to give it that true cruiser look. Another great report.
Great review. Comprehensive, real world, easy to follow, good quality AV. The bike reminds me of my old 2010 Triumph America. That was bigger and a bit more 'muscular' , but similar. Which is good, because I loved it. Though the cruiser riding position was very bad for my back...
Thanks guote from mcn: At the rear, the extruded steel swingarm delivering a rangy 1500mm wheelbase carries twin Showa shocks, with 5-step preload adjustment and 101mm of travel. Best wishes mark
Nice one Mark first outing I've seen and it looks great would luv to try one of these I planned a ride on an inter next month and if one of these is also available I will certainly be trying it , bit more money than the inter but it's gotta be checked out great review as per well done .👌👍
Great review as ever, looks a fabulous bike, the short service interval is the only thing that sticks out for me, shorter than the Interceptor for some reason and not just an oil change, would be interesting to know what the dealer cost for servicing would be.
Yeah I'd agree, however if you take the manufacturer warranty out of the equation for a moment, you could run it in, switch to fully synthetic oil, which would easily get 6000 miles between changes and if you did the valve adjustment at 6000 miles too it would be quite possible and practical to service the bike at 6000 miles intervals, obviously most people want to keep the warranty, but I've also seen those who don't real care about the manufacturer warranty, so just a point to consider I think 👍🏻
@@kevindarkstar Typically with my annual mileage I will need 2 services, what I do not get is the intervals being shorter than the 2 bikes with identical engines, ignoring the warranty could be very costly. Current bike it is 1 service and 24k for valve adjustment, being out of warranty I do it myself, the Meteor would still cost me double. I was hoping for 6k service intervals like the Interceptor for the UK
@@markpulling12 Just to add to the confusion I have been sent a copy of the manual by my dealer, which shows 10,000km or 6200m on for the service intervals for the UK, I have emailed RE for clarification, this makes sense as this would be identical to the UK Interceptor - the lower intervals are for other regions. I will update this comment when I get a response from RE
@@markpulling12 Update: Well, the one time being lied to is fine (to be fair, they did give a very safe time period), the bike arrived way early, basically towards the end of March, they called and said the bike has arrived. Barely a week later, April 4th, I took delivery of my Super Meteor 650. Loving it so far, although there are some things that could be made better, fortunately, it's DIY friendly.
I look forward to the day they produce a bike with more than 47bhp. I know they make these for the Indian and South American markets but it is well within their capabilities to make these at 70bhp, maybe more if they made an 850.
I checked this out at my local dealership, and found it a bit too heavy for me, i am 75 quite fit, so have reverted my attention towards the Hunter 350 which I can handle no bother, Mark I keep drawing a blank as to where I could get the tripper navigation from do you know of anywhere in perticular? thanking you Roger

I've been looking forward to this review mark what a brilliant bike, sounds nice too.
Thanks James ...I was very impressed 👍
That looks the perfect sized bike for someone of your height. Curse my "elongated" frame !!!
An earlier review I read said that this did not have a slipper or assisted clutch. Hopefully that was a typo as it would be a good thing to have.
Good job RE 👍
Many thanks...the specs I read on it today said it has an assist and slipper clutch ... best wishes mark
Excellent review Mark! Love the color. Really amazed at what RE is producing lately. I am not sure if this bike is available in the US yet. I didn't think it was available outside of India yet?
Hi it will be coming to the usa I've heard ... hopefully soon for you guys
Best wishes mark
Whoever did the setup angled the handlebar too far forward/upward. Needs to be rolled back toward the rider a bit. Also, the switchgear pods left and right aren’t even.
Ditto
Yes I said about that in the video...I'd adjust it back a bit :)
CWM in Chichester woulld have set it up properly in the first place !
Great dealer 👍
Indian versions don't have this kind of handlebar
Poor initial set up by the dealer, especially if they know its going to be on camera 🤨
Great review Mark, I wish I had your “way with words” when doing reviews. Very good indeed. Being a long term owner of an Interceptor and also a Classic 350, I am hooked on the brand. Though I have never been into cruisers myself, without a doubt, it will do well. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks Ian ....I was very impressed with this ...the engine really suits the cruiser style
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 IAM happy love India bike 🥰🇮🇳
What a lovely bike.
Nice to see my beloved Poole too.
Spent many a time at the Dolphin centre bus station trying to sober up before getting the bus to Swanage. Happy days.
Thanks 👍 yes Poole is a lovely place:)
Sharp looking bike. I wish they made it an 850cc though. For me, that 650cc power plant was just barely adequate in the lighter interceptor.
You have many other more powerful cruisers. You can choose HD if you need more power.
@@jordanseifarth1325 yea upto 65 70 bhp
Many thanks Robert 😊
It looks so classy man! I don’t like cruisers, but after you see it for real. It’s just so..,, dreamy!
I like this bike! I’m very interested now. Thanks for the great Vid!
Glad you liked it!
Many thanks my pleasure
Yes it will be worth the wait
Best wishes mark
We like you Mark. Thank you for what you do. May God bless you and keep you and open your heart to his Saving Grace.
Many thanks for the kind words
Best wishes mark
Like everything about it. Hope they offer a mid control option. Great review as always.
Hi thanks ...a beautiful smooth ride and impressive quality
Cheers mark
Mark I thought the shifter was heel toe. On your model it appears to have toe only?
another excellent review. keep up the good work.
It certainly has the looks
quality bike. quality review. i have listened to about 6-7 of the reviews of the super meteor 650 and this was by far the most engaging and informative. thanks!
Many thanks Nigel 😊
Have you ever ridden a bike that u didn't give a positive review?? EVERY bike you ride you seem to love !!
Definitely the best review I've seen of the SM anywhere, answered all my questions. 👍 Thanks.
Many thanks...my pleasure
Best wishes mark
Great bike! Thank you for the honest review Mark!
My pleasure!
I love the honesty of the Royal Enfield.
Thanks for detailed review Mark. Good job !! Bike is looking stunning awesome. Already booked one. :)
Great choice Vijay :)
A lot of bike for the money. Might have to trade my classic 350 for one of these, love the blue colour. Great review 👍😂
Good point Simon ...I think the hunter 650 would be great 👍
Great review Mark as always, well i like the way the motor purring at all kind of revs, as for the handlebars and foot rests setup i think is something that every rider can fit it on his anatomy after owning the bike, not something minus for the bike, well at this time i want to ask you mark please next time give as more in depth details for the bike like opening side panels, the seat chek out for set of tools or space below seats.
Thanks in advance
With friendly regards
Harry Dendromiris
Many thanks Harry will do ;)
As always, a really useful and detailed review.
Great review, currently riding the Meteor 350. Probably will swap into the Super later in the year.
Many thanks 👍
Great review once again Mark, Seriously thinking about one of these, Thanks .
Thanks Colin ...yes they ride really well... great smooth engine
Best wishes mark
Congratulations from Brazil, i'm waiting by mine, still not start sales here!
I have said the same, would be lovely to have that virtually maintenance free belt on a bike like this 😉
I think chain drive is the demand and practical choice for most motorcyclists, especially the ones who might want to chop it up and not want a bagger-type belt drive interrupting their design; also in India belt drive conversions are common on Bullets themselves and costs about INR 17,000 for the whole thing, the belts last at least 50,000 kms each and don't cost much to replace. So I'm sure inexpensive belt drive mods for the Super Meteor will come out soon in the aftermarket for those absolutely needing a belt drive.
Don't buy it then, is not for you.
Agree with you, I would add spoked wheels.
Lot of hard work, content and effort injected in the video. Very nice work.
Many thanks 👍

Mr Pulling, I thoroughly enjoyed the review. Thank you very much!
Most bike vloggers I know do a voice over later. You on the other hand are doing it while your focus is on the road and traffic, which is amazing and at the same time, you are able to express your ride feel as felt first hand.
650 is a beautiful bike... Planning to test drive one soon and add it to my other REs - electra and classic 🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed it!

Good review, Mark. Not wishing to jump the gun but I think a Hunter 650 will be a very interesting unit :).
Yes now that's my sort of bike
I own a hunter 350 and it's great 👍
It’s been spotted on road
testing mule with a 2:1 exhaust pipe
They are soon launching some more bikes may SC 650 and SG 650
Very good test & review, thanks! 🙂
Thank You Mark.
EXCELLENT review as always.
Thanks Terry.... Best wishes mark
Hello mate thank you for a brilliant review, very detailed and explained everything I wanted to know, thanks again and ride safe, cheers from UK 👍
Ok Dave many thanks 👍
Fantastic review, really considering this now!
Great review, thanks Mark. I just bought one of these yesterday (Interstellar, green) for collection 1st March . . . . looking forward to it 🙂
Thanks David.... great choice...you'l love it
Best wishes mark
Another great review. Thx Mark
Super review Mark!thanks again. Thes super meteors haven’t reached Canada yet but no doubt they will.Probably by the middle of summer.cheers,
Thanks Brett greetings to Canada
Cheers mark
I've been waiting for this one Mark. I've seen the bike at the show and it looked fab. The only criticism from me is that i would have liked to see the forks raked out a bit more to give it that true cruiser look. Another great report.
Thanks James yes I know what you mean about the forks ....rides really well...I was super impressed
Best wishes mark
Your reviews are the best mark my gi to place if I need no nonsense honest reviews.
Many thanks 👍:)
Great review. Comprehensive, real world, easy to follow, good quality AV. The bike reminds me of my old 2010 Triumph America. That was bigger and a bit more 'muscular' , but similar. Which is good, because I loved it. Though the cruiser riding position was very bad for my back...
Thanks nick my pleasure:)
Another great review. Thanks Mark.
Glad you enjoyed it
5:36 I believe the Front Upside Down Fork is by Showa and not the rear one. Absolutely enjoy your videos! Good job mate
Thanks guote from mcn:
At the rear, the extruded steel swingarm delivering a rangy 1500mm wheelbase carries twin Showa shocks, with 5-step preload adjustment and 101mm of travel.

Nice one Mark first outing I've seen and it looks great would luv to try one of these I planned a ride on an inter next month and if one of these is also available I will certainly be trying it , bit more money than the inter but it's gotta be checked out great review as per well done .👌👍
Many thanks 👍
Not for me, but that doesn't mean I can't see what an appealing bike it is. Certainly looks the business, and not exactly expensive.
Hi these are relatively cheap to service cheers mark
Thanks Kevin 😊
Well, I just got done with a test ride, aaaannnd booked myself an Astral Green one. The 3+ months waiting period would be a bit slow
Great choice 👍 cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Update: Well, the one time being lied to is fine (to be fair, they did give a very safe time period), the bike arrived way early, basically towards the end of March, they called and said the bike has arrived. Barely a week later, April 4th, I took delivery of my Super Meteor 650. Loving it so far, although there are some things that could be made better, fortunately, it's DIY friendly.
Great review Mark, seems like a really cracking bike, reckon it would do a sterling job for touring too!
Absolutely 😁💯
It will be a few years away for me Before I can get to Buy one of these Great Bikes. Thanks for your nice Review !
Thanks for watching!
Best wishes mark
I look forward to the day they produce a bike with more than 47bhp. I know they make these for the Indian and South American markets but it is well within their capabilities to make these at 70bhp, maybe more if they made an 850.
To me, this will be the best bike RE has made so far. Looking to get one here in the US when they get here, Late fall 23??
I checked this out at my local dealership, and found it a bit too heavy for me, i am 75 quite fit, so have reverted my attention towards the Hunter 350 which I can handle no bother, Mark I keep drawing a blank as to where I could get the tripper navigation from do you know of anywhere in perticular? thanking you Roger
Tripper should be available from moto gb or Enfield UK try asking at your local dealer they should be able to help best wishes mark
Have a look at the Moto Beeline also, for navigation.
I'm not really a cruiser person but this I like this,.Reminds me of a 1930;s Harley for some reason just right.
Hi Mark here .
Great review. Also, a short video comparing this with Meteor 350, i think, would be appreciated.
