BTS on "The Pitch" video for Toyota in Los Angeles with our Formula Drift Rockstar Energy Toyota GR Supra. It features Fredric Aasbo, Ken Gushi and Ryan Tuerck in the drift action cars, and additional stunts with Hunter Taylor (groceries) and Andy Bell (jump). Kit Lynch-Robinson from Top Gear and the Grand Tour was the director and Sweatpants Media captured all the action.

The Papadakis Racing team began drifting in 2004 and is the most winning team in Formula Drift history, earning the 2015 title with driver Fredric Aasbo, as well as back to back championship titles with driver Tanner Foust in 2007 and 2008. The Rockstar Energy Drink / Nitto Tire Toyota GR Supra is the latest competition build from the Carson, California, based team.
Team owner Stephan Papadakis is a legend of sport compact racing who began building his reputation in the 1990s with the first front-wheel drive, tube-chassis drag car in the U.S. The team earned multiple records and championships in the discipline, turning in elapsed times and trap speeds previously thought unattainable in front-drive drag cars. Papadakis' successes in front-wheel drive were matched by his efforts in rear-wheel drive when he campaigned a Honda Civic that became just the fifth car to join the NHRA's Sport Compact 200 MPH club

When I saw the thumbnail I really thought that that this would be a behind-the-scenes video of F&F9! You should reach out to those guys and see if they want to partner with you on any upcoming projects, some of the directors and production staff are huge car enthusiast.

A hydro basically gives 100% brake power to only the rear so traction breaks, then you let it off and get on throttle and the wheels will keep spinning
well, these days they're putting electric parking brakes on cars....so yeah, a lot of people would like just a normal cable handbrake!

So to prevent a nose dive they need to put what looks like at least 300lbs of weight in the trunk? Perfect example of static 50/50 weight distribution used for marketing purposes, but it's still nose heavy dynamically, which is what matters.
there's always some idiot that walks right in front or tries to touch the drone so having an outlined area where no one can step is absolutely necessary.

50/50 weight distribution is not only used for marketing purposes, that is actually a good thing.
They loaded in weights to make the jump easier, because its how jumps work.
The moment the front wheels leave the ramp, the front pitches down. On long & fast jumps, this can be dangerous.
This is the sole reason for the weights in the car.
The driver can counteract this down pitching (in rally you have to) by tapping the brakes on the ramp, giving the front a slight upward momentum.
This however is hard to do and risky for a jump like that.
Thats why they loaded weights.
The car is not "nose heavy dynamically", the weights are just to make a long and fast jump safe and idiotproof.
It's not nose heavy. It's when the front wheels leave the ramp it's essentially acting as a lever arm and gravity is causing it to torque downwards since the normal force is no longer acting at the front and now only at the rear.
If you were to do the same stunt at the same speed in reverse, the rear would pivot downwards. So they would still have to compensate with weights and in this case at the front of the car.

@@jord0x693 yes, it’s a rebadged bmw and comes with the same issues most bmws I work on have. It’s no way the same quality as a Toyota engineered brand. This was an accounting decision not that bmw make a superior product. Bmw quality and reliability is way below Toyota’s and that’s fact.

Both cars are way different despite sharing the same platform
2-The New Supra It's actually reliable
Even the B58 is capable of handle more than 800HP with the stock internals.
3-If Toyota hadn't collaborated with BMW
Neither the Supra nor the Z4 would have existed
This is also how a skydiver/BASE jumper landed without a parachute. Pretty neat.

The whole "Orange" isn't a factory color warning in the Toyota commercial for that Supra doing the jump makes me think it was a surplus F9 stunt Supra they just happen to have in LA that was prepped for a jump but wasn't used and they may as well jump it for a commercial.

modern cars are so ugly. give me a 90's car any day of the week (or earlier tbh, but 90's are the sweet spot for me). also, i have never really liked the look of any supra, but i definitely like the rest of the car (power, rwd etc etc)
