Thanks for your help on figuring out where I’ll get my egg tarts and pork buns (Garden Bakery)! I’ll also have to try some pineapple buns and moon cake! I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fit much of Chinatown into my day in SF. But I did figure out that I can go to one of these bakeries at 6am then walk through a few blocks before hopping on the cable car and starting our day! I have my 9 yo daughter and I’s day planned out, I hope I can fit it all in!
Agreed. Fancy Wheat Field is one of the best I've eaten. Surprising, especially since it's a chain. If you're ever in the Sunset, Pineapple King is a must, but there's a hidden gem further south in the Outer Sunset called Sweet Passion Bakery.
