The easiest and best way to fix this problem is to buy a decapping die and use it to deprime your cases before cleaning. Strip the primer feed assembly off the press completely.....operating rod, feed tube, inner feed tube, slide bushing, primer bar.....everything. You will now have a naked press with just the caliber conversion kit shell plate and locating pins. Get a extra bare toolhead to use your diecapping die in. You only need one because that one die doesn't make any contact with the case, just knocks the primer out of all calibers. I have a Lee Universal because I've had it for years and that was all there was available at the time. Dillon now makes one of their own, but the Lee is priced right and works pretty good. You guys that don't knockout your primers before cleaning and loading are asking for more trouble than just a jammed primer feed system. If you had a Chrony, you would/will start to see big differences in velocity over time as the primer pocket and flash hole become obstructed from build up. You have to get that crap out of there before you load. I still run a Dillon CV-2001 tumbler with corn media and Dillon case polish added. I'm using old technology because I've had my press for over a decade. Today in 2017 guys use the wet tumblers with stainless steel pin media and Dawn/lemon shine juice mixed with hot water. The cases come out even cleaner with everything inside and out spotless. I'll be getting one of those too for every few times because it's not quite as easy. You guys are loading cases that never are tumbled with the primers knocked out? That's just crazy and it's no wonder your press is taking a dump. All that soot and crap in there has no place to go but out and into your press.....think about that for a minute. You have to clean 'em first guys....... John

Solid video, it cleared up an issue or two. Question - I am using this rig for a .45 cal. After refilling the primer tube, using the same type of primers from the same lot, I started getting primer mis-feeds. It alternates one on, one off (no primer) every time. I haven't changed the primer bar, and the only thing I did was add primers. Any thoughts on what may have happened are welcome.
Oh good. I'm always learning something new and try to pass it on for consideration. There is that little white nylon pusher that is under tension by that spring loaded tab on the front. Make sure that thing isn't deformed or not working right. Also order a spares kit from Dillon so you can replace the little plastic tip on the end of the primer tube that locks down into the machine. every once in a while. Or make sure a bur hasn't developed on the end. That's what comes to mind, probably something simple. Make sure the tube sits and locks nicely down into that slot and the threaded cap is centered properly on the top. Look through the tubes and make sure they look very clean with no burs on the ends or plastic tips.
have you ever had a primer get stuck at the bottom inside the blue tip? the primer will actually be on its side instead bottom first. I don't know what the problem is. I called Dillon and they said its either the primers or the blue tip that's causing the jam. Thanks for the video
Could also be the way they are being released from the feeder tube you fill up on the bench. Make sure all these tubes are clean inside with no burs or lips on the ends of the tubes or plastic pieces. Yes those tips can be bad but first make sure they are pressed all the way onto the tubes.
Found out what it was after I called Dillon again. I bought the press second hand off ebay, got all large primer tubes and didn't know it. I assumed it was the right one cause it had the blue tip on it. Dillon sent me a small primer tube and all is well again. Thanks for your help
My primer feeder bar does not travel back enough to pick up a primer I have pull on the bar it will travel sometimes I can feel it Move back sometimes it's just perceptible to pick up a primer I have tried to adjust the primer it does nothing? Can you give me a solution?
