  • I just tried what I'm calling the 3-2-1 Photography Challenge in New Zealand with my Hasselblad X2D, and it was wonderful! This challenge is a great way to revitalise your photography if you're feeling bored or stale. I used the XCD 45P, the Leica R 80-200, and the Voigtlander 21mm lenses on this trip, and they were brilliant.
    00:00 What is the 3-2-1 Challenge?
    00:55 How will you benefit?
    02:14 Choosing your 3 categories.
    03:00 How I chose mine.
    04:25 The gear I used for my challenge.
    04:53 Category 1 favourites.
    06:03 My son leaps 40 metres off a bridge!
    07:05 Category 1 honourable mentions.
    08:10 Category 2 favourites.
    08:44 Category 3 favourites.
    09:21 What I learned from this.

    I've been a hobbyist photographer for more then 50 years. I did lots of weddings ( B&W and later in life, color) . Now I'm into street photography (of course B&W). I've been watching a lot of u tube videos and I am tired of people making videos to talk about themselves with words or show off. You and Sean Tucker talk and show PHOTOGRAPHY. This is the subject of these videos. I tried to find extra words in your videos and I could not find any. Thank you for sharing your experience and passion for photography which helps me a lot.

    Great episode Peter, it's been such a long time since I took photos just for fun and creative enjoyment. I already have lots going on in my life, but this has made me feel like dusting off the old camera and getting out there again. Please congratulate Tommy for doing something that I would never have the courage to do.
    cheers .. Frank

      @@juanitakelly3082 I have to admit, I love the portraits, too. There’s something very special about photographing people - especially ones you love. As for Tommy, he is genuinely amazing. I Bungy jumped about 25 years ago, and I remember how I felt afterwards, so I really wanted that for him, too. He wants to do it again. 😄

      Yes, and they're both mentioned (and shown) in the video. You can also see them in my separate X2D review video. I bought both the Fotodiox and Novoflex adapters from their respective websites.

    Great place to visit Peter, so many opportunities where ever you look. 😀 Not the quaint place it was back in the 1950’s and 60’s and of course some people get the impression it’s all NZ is . Did you get to Arrowtown ? As nippers we used to go up those rivers with gold pans expecting to make our fortune 😀 and of course Arrowtown is amazing in Autumn. Your challenge is a good one , one of the problems I’m having at the moment is I’ve developed a bit of a mindset of not photographing much that wouldn’t make it to a youtube video and being less thoughtful just trying to “get it done” for the next post, it feels like the tail wagging the dog. If you get the chance to come over in winter or late winter you might enjoy checking out the mountains and lakes within easy reach of Christchurch. Here are a couple of tasters ruclips.net/video/JN7pXJSZSrY/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/OvBacmwiDFw/видео.html that last one is the TransAlpine train which I did twice with my dad in his 80’s once in winter and the other in summer . Both of these videos are made of images I took BEFORE going down the RUclips rabbit hole 😀

      @peterfritzphoto  27 дней назад +1

      Your comment was held for moderation because it contained links, so I'm sorry for the late response, Chris. We didn't get to Arrowtown, but it was one of the places that interested me. I need to spend a few weeks in that whole region, that's for sure - it's spectacular. I'm starting to think that amazing landscape images are so common, now, the best RUclips videos don't make the images, but rather the story, the centrepiece. These days, I'm focused on photographing for pleasure, so 95% doesn't even get filmed, much less shared on RUclips. It's better in every way. Thanks for sharing those two videos. I've cued them up in two tabs to watch in the next 24 hours or so. Take care, mate, and sorry again for the belated response.
