Kilchurn Castle; Amazing that for 40 years did not need the fence and you could go into the castle and now Heath Safety have taken over; the fence is a mess.
Skid marks 🤣🤣 your mums a diamond Gavin ☺️ and stunning shots as usual beautiful. Scotland on my to do list new year.. and Could the Sony be entering early retirement soon 🤔😁
Loved it. Them S bends are slippy as hell. Been on my arse a dozen times now. I find it's all about the landing that gets you a round of applause. Great to see you in Glencoe. My playground.
I am hoping to go to Glasgow next summer for the World SF convention, and spend some days after in exploring and photographing Scotland, so this video is positively inspirational for that.
Great video once again Gavin, pity about Kilchurn castle though, that fence is putting me off adding it to my bucket list :( . I might go though not to see the castle but to see the talking sheep, that will be much better than a grubby metal fence 😁. Thanks for sharing it with us 😁👍
Thanks for another informative but also very funny adventure 😃 I loved that morning shot of the Castle, just stunning. That sheep was a bit cranky and rude but at least he had the good sense to buy your book👍 Beautiful shots of the amazing landscapes. Awesome long exposure shots at the end of the video.
lol, From England myself (Stockton-On-Tees) I've, been living in California for 25 years, love the northern banter, new to photography but learning every day, thx for many laughs@@fototripper
These stupid fences appeared during covid, not just around Kilchurn, but a whole host of Historic Scotland sites. I'm sure St. Andrew's Cathedral and Melrose Abbey amongst others were completely closed to the public in case someone died, and are still shut. They have all been crumbling for centuries and everyone managed to survive, but some consultant made a fortune by surveying them and advising that the public safety is paramount! Fences must go up! I've not paid HES a penny since to enter one of their properties.
I was hiking through the hidden valley between the three sisters on the weekend and the conditions were spectacular! Cloud inversion right at the top over the other side of the mountains. Scotland really is a great sometimes. Cracking vid as always
I went to Kilchurn for the first time this summer and was disappointed to see the fence. I used the old-school clone tool but it took ages. Loved the shot of the two sisters.
The sunrise shot of the castle is gorgeous, such an amazing light! I'm a fan of panos as well, nice one there! I own an XPan, bought it over 12 years ago when the prices were still reasonable. Sometimes I think about to sell it and buy the Fuji medium format, which has also a 24x65 aspect ratio, but I'm too afraid that I'll regret it.
The sequence with the disgruntled ol’ cooter of a sheep was absolutely hilarious 😅. Great video, full of humor, and the landscape is gorgeous. Love the xpan format. Thanks for sharing!
Funny, entertaining and great images. If each and every person immersed themselves in the enchanting world of "Chasing Awe," our planet would undoubtedly be a more delightful place. Awesome, Gavin. I love your videos.
Absolutely brilliant video; humour also improved 😮 The camera is out of my price bit but absolutely love the pano ability > I’ll just keep in pano stitching technique I guess 😢 Your images are stunning ~ I use NEO too but hadn’t paid much attention to this capability ~ I will now. Thanks very much for this 🏴
I was wondering if he’d remove it… it’s so small in the frame I guess 🤷 also generative fill in photoshop would probably do just as good a job as luminar.
I went to this location and lined up a composition very similar. I pressed the shutter and activated the 2 second timer, and after it fired a copy of Chasing Awe with Gavin Hardcastle appeared on the LCD
Hi Neil, camera bags are a funny thing. You always need the space inside them but the more you have the more you need. But if you buy a bag with limited space it makes you think about your trip and the type of photos you are going out for because every bit of space counts. Love this video, always good to see what others use and take with them.
you got two images that are perfect and you went back! hi Amanda, got to admit the results were as good if not better than. just shows different view point puts the whole thing into a new zone. thanks for the vid, another great info point, look around or follow the masses, check out the look around. the shots look so friggin good its as if you could touch them.
Remember when everyone made fun of Luminar? Anyway, Love Scotland. Got the shot of my life in Glencoe. Or maybe the Lighthouse at point Niest was my best?
I can see that you all had a lot of fun making this video, but we can't all afford a Hassleblad, Gavin! The NEO offer had ran out before you posted, btw - Lorne Sausages are much better than fried Mars Bars!
Really enjoyed the video Gary, always look forward to Sunday evenings. For anything you have uploaded. Some glorious views up there, you got a great comp of the castle, somewhere I’d like to go back to myself….in spite of the pylons. That’s the best spot where you and Warren were but I also took one of the approach to the castle which I will always treasure as it had our dog as the main subject looking back at the camera, a nice memory of him. I have a feeling that house/bungalow on the right as you approach the Three Sisters btw was once owned by someone quite well known. Nice cameo parts by Roy and your mom again.
This camera is indeed vliss incarnate. You point it at a mountain and get beautiful enchanting woodland. You get more than mere sky replacement in camera, its latest feature of the future is - image replacement. I'll have one please! 😁
Aye, ye cannae beat Glencoe. Has to be one of the best drives in UK and has some accessible honeypot shots from car parks. So accessibility for people with disabilities. And as for the sausage it’s a “Lorne sausage” or some call it a “square sausage”… saves awkward faffing about cooking it.. no need to roll it around, just flip it. Stunning shots as always.. Roy and Mum are the stars of the show
I wonder if you have met Adam as he is visiting the UK now? I saw him in someone's vlog in the Lake District National Park. Your vids with Adam are something else!
"Generase" is really the tool to use for the removal of small areas. It is amazing what it can do. "Genswap" is more suitable for replacing elements within a photo - say, a new background.
We were there mid October after seeing your earlier vlog from there. simply stunning. But boy did that ugly fence take some getting rid off in PS but was worth it. . Typically the day after there was the most beautiful rainbow and light, got a shot but from the Loch awe hotel. That's one banging image Gavin 👌
Great video. I got some good shots in Glencoe in the summer but hindered a little by the rain, lol. I'm canadian now not English so can't manage the rain as well. I wish you had done a Glencoe video before I was over in July and then i could have just copied your compositions.
Creeks, valleys and lakes eh wtf🤭 Cool to see theee Fototripper hitting the same compositions as I have ! (I got rid of the pylon behind the castle as well as the fence).
great stuff, glencoe shot was a belter. ps. a roll n egg n tatty scone, thats how we survive winters. pps. i plead with all photographers to get a shot of the gorge at the far end of the hidden valley, i flew an fpv drone inside it but theres a spot you can set up looking all the way inside, i missed the good light and wrong gopro settings but its still something to see,
@@fototripper 5:02 ruclips.net/video/jFo-KEi5frU/видео.html only good light is summer midday. and its a scary crumbly cliff walk, just dont tell amanda.
I really synpathize with your Mum having to do that opening door scene... that must have been tough 😂😂😂
We have to give a lot of credits to Roy for his amazing acting skills 😄 What a fun guy haha
Awesome photography paired with a family of wonderfully endearing characters. I think this was one of the best episodes and that’s no easy feat.

Heath and safety? New to me 😂😂
I agree the fence is awful but it was put there to protect an ancient monument from idiot visitors.
@@gashead2 Safe & effective !
Absolutely love the comedy! You make me laugh about photography! Love it!!! 🥰🥰🥰💥💥💥👋👋👋
It's a pleasure to see Hasselblad X2d in action.
Loved it. Them S bends are slippy as hell. Been on my arse a dozen times now. I find it's all about the landing that gets you a round of applause. Great to see you in Glencoe. My playground.
Roy cracks me up, the talking sheep cracks me up, the amazing image is awesome and overal it’s again a brilliant video.
You my friend are a my Master Yoda of photography and awesome humour. Amanda is a Saint. lol. Magnifiqua 😉😎
Roy’s performance lights this episode as well. I bet the academy will contact him for an Oscar one of these days Great photography too as always 👏👏👏
I am hoping to go to Glasgow next summer for the World SF convention, and spend some days after in exploring and photographing Scotland, so this video is positively inspirational for that.
Excellent content. Love the humor, Amanda and family are superb. Do it again.
Great images, it is a beautiful country.
Good to see Gavin has gotten the message, and worked more Amanda in this week. She is the perfect foil!

Yeah, the fence is enough to strike it from future photography trips sadly.

Bloopers were great and the pics beautiful! Thanks!
Gavin, why would you take the fence out, but not the Pylon behind the castle?
Pylons be pylons

What if all of us who enjoy these brilliant videos say thanks to Gavin by supporting him with buying his merchandise? What do you say? Whose in?

Love that castle image Gavin...looks like you're 3 for 3 there now. And Roy, the man is a comedic genius!!!!
such a funny beggining haha :)
Nearly 30mins flew by like it was a couple mins. Love this area would love to go back soon. Fantastic images and skits!!

Fantastic with the Hasselblad 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
I think if I had the money to buy a Hasselblad, I'd keep my Nikon and buy a truck. :)

Oooh, I do like a nice warm slice.
Why take the ugly fence and leave the ugly electricity pylon.
I was wondering if he’d remove it… it’s so small in the frame I guess 🤷 also generative fill in photoshop would probably do just as good a job as luminar.
I thought the same since to my eyes it’s twice as irritating as the fence which has been there for 6 years.
I went to this location and lined up a composition very similar. I pressed the shutter and activated the 2 second timer, and after it fired a copy of Chasing Awe with Gavin Hardcastle appeared on the LCD

Another wonderful episode Gavin. Glencoe looks beautiful.
Landscape photography in a nutshell: “Getting out in the wet stuff” 😂

I tired that but had better results with Genswap, hence the tute.
Roy is the best!!!
Besides the beautiful photos: it was just hilarious again. Thanks for brightening up my day. And yes: it is the best book!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for another great video and helpful Neo information.
Great video once again! Went to Iona in 2009 and there was scaffolding everywhere! No lightroom back then either 🤦♂️
Great fun and great photos
Three sisters is amazing, wicked shots! 📸😎
How you resisted removing that pylon I don’t know. Really good image Gavin. Imagine this image early in the morning.

Highlight of the week, Fototripper's new video 🙌😍. - I have Luminar Neo (1.16), but there is no Genswap.
Gorgeous images G

Hmmm didn't know about that feature in luminar neo 😂. Handy!! Glencoe, auld Jimmy's house. Should be gen X off the landscape

Creeks, valleys and lakes eh wtf🤭 Cool to see theee Fototripper hitting the same compositions as I have ! (I got rid of the pylon behind the castle as well as the fence).
That's cheating!
Since you took effort to remove the fence I wonder why you left the power line and pylon.
See above

Loved this video as usual, but why can't we see Roy's pictures as well 😊
The castle shots are awesome! (but I'm sure Thomas Heaton would have done better 🤣)
Brilliant!
Lovely video. Visiting Scotland next May with my family.
