As soon as I saw "Davenport" I knew you'd be at those shacks right off the highway. Very grainydays. PS - I sold all my digital equipment to get the X2D. I do not regret it.
Some of the new lenses sound absolutely beautiful. The first generation had something very metallic to it, at least the lenses I tried. But yeah, the 28, 25, 38, 55 all whisper seductively, the 90 2.5 is a bit louder but not much.

I've owned a Hasselblad X1DII, by far these cameras are made for art (no limits). With these camera's there is no need to talk about technical details because the way they're engineered is more film like than a conventional digital camera. From the color calibration, to the lenses and the design are made in a symbiotic way.
Great great great episode jason ! one of my favorite photography wise, you got some asbsoluterly incredible shots imo, right up my alley keep doing what you do !
I bought the original X1D a couple of months ago. I used medium format film previously, slow work. This Hasselblad is like a film camera in many ways. I really like it. The images are really good.
Finally this awesome photography instrument is in the hands of someone who knows how to make pictures not just taking them. The best video I’ve seen so far about the X2D which I don’t own myself but looking forward to make the switch hopefully soon. I’m a Leica shooter and have heard lots of talk about the Leica look which to my eyes and experience do exist better to say, used to exist with the Kodak sensor generation of Leicas not the new ones. With Hasselblad it’s a different story, I can now pick a hasselblad shot without looking to the exit data and I guess right 90 % of the time.
Yes come to the dark side! I really like your color grading! If you want a slightly more affordable and lower resolution alternative , the GFX 50S II is pretty good. Has IBIS too.
This camera is over my budget, defently. The quality is incredible. You are a good photographer and you are able to shoot good pictures with every single camera or system .
Weirdly timely video - I'm actually using the CFV 100C digital back (same sensor as the X2D) on a V-mount film Hassy to make tone and color accurate film presets, and the color accuracy from the sensor is what's making it possible to match the film stocks I'm shooting alongside digital
Yet again Jason tempts me to add more to my collection, this Hassel is pretty cool! Looking forward to Jason buying the golden one, we know it’s coming.
Awesome Jason, the jokes, the constant show off of average american motel rooms. It's pure joy to watch. Even if this digital video was on the spicy side for you being so analog normally😂
Another one of my film heroes sells out. 🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding...enjoyed the X2D video but you should ask them to send you the 907X and put that back on your film Hassy. That would be interesting.
that dolly in at 4:48 was supreme. I also found the 16:9 video frame a nice change to your usual format. the motel frames 13 minutes in look almost like something out of Wim Wenders' Paris Texas. this was a fun video to watch. great work!
End of the day, if you're taking pictures and enjoying it, that's all that matters. I had to switch back to digital, at least for now, but now I can go out and shoot whenever I want. For me from buying the roll to getting the scans back, I'm already 40 quid deep. My cameras are sitting pretty for now, my A6600 and a prime lens are all I need to make some lovely images :)

And this camera has a good base point in terms of color science (not much work in post. Colors already beautiful)
